I had been to this restaurant before Covid, and it was delicious. So my husband was craving biscuits and grits, so in a search this place came up and I said it was good. Well, WAS is the key word. My husband gave it 3 star because of the mission of the Cafe, but the food he would give a 2. We ordered the cheese grits bowl for pickup. We got a container of cheese grits- okay but they needed salt and more cheese. A container of scrambled eggs cooked soft like we asked but they also needed salt, and a container with 2 sausage patties (which were flavorless). We also got a side of biscuits. Dry, seemed like the kind in a can- with no butter or honey, just a bunch of ketchup! My husband saw the banana pudding in the mason jar- so he added that to our order. $8. He went back in because he didn't see it. They said it was in a container. He returned and it was in there- in a very tiny container barely filled halfway- looking nothing like the one in the restaurant, and it wasn't that good, the bananas weren't ripe, and still hard. I'm thankful for the mission, so we may give it another try but maybe eating in is the way to go- we won't do takeout again! read more

Food: The food here was so tasty. The waffle was on the sweet side similar to an ice cream cone waffle cone. I wish the waffle had come with some sort of side both to balance some of the sweetness and because it looked lonesome on the plate. The biscuit sandwiches were tasty but a wee bit hard to eat because the biscuit tended to fall apart pretty quickly. The tater tots were tasty but my meal was only served with 10. The plate looked pretty sad with 10 lonely tots on it but everything tasted great so I'm happy i found this place and would love to return. Service: The waiter was polite. Want to give a HUGE shoutout to Harvest Café for hosting a beautiful breakfast buffet yesterday on the morning of my son's Baptism. Head chef Joe and his staff were so sweet and accommodating. We had about 40 people and they were so impressed with everything. The food was cooked fresh and absolutely delicious. Included in the buffet were pastries, bagels, danishes, muffins, biscuits, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs, pancakes and tater tots. They also served us freshly made chocolate chip cookies and brownies. We got the cake from Holtermann's Bakery. As soon as something ran low they immediately refilled it. Came in around noon time with my friends and were immediately greeted by a lovely staff who allow us to choose what seats we want! We picked the booth seats because we want to be more comfortable. We started with mimosas and ordered harvest omelet, classic benny and walnut french toasts! This cafe is just amazing. First and foremost this is a very special cafe as they hire differently abled adults and teenagers. The food is delicious and the service was amazing. The restaurant itself is very clean and well put together. The restaurant also faces a beautiful reserves park which has a nice scenic view. The prices are also very very cheap for the amazing quality of food that they serve. They don't have dinner but they have plenty of breakfast and lunch options. I learned about Harvest Café from watching the news one evening. It was a beautiful, unique concept that should have been put into play decades ago. First chance I got, I went (alone) and had brunch. (*BOOM*) Blew my mind. The food was phenomenal, waitstaff was amazing and the place was clean as a whistle. I had a chance to go for lunch today. Yet again... (*BOOM*). The crabcakes are probably 95% crab meat and 5% seasoning and breadcrumbs. They're so delicious, it's ridiculous. Waitstaff were yet again, amazing. Whole restaurant was beautifully spotless. Come for the no frills, good food, good service, reasonable prices and the good cause. Overall very satisfied with the food and service. If you want to get a decent eggs Benedict or french toast because you're too lazy to make it yourself this is a good spot. Prices are very reasonable. French toast with caramelized bananas and walnut was delicious. Don't come expecting any fancy shaved truffles or gramworthy dish presentation. Not the ideal spot if you're trying to impress a shallow tinder date or a business client. Presentation is very basic and service is good. Food was delicious. My only complaints are: they didn't have good coffee and English muffins for the eggs Benedict (got mine with reg toast). Coffee was very weak. Someone should taste every batch of coffee made. First thing's first. As a special educator and a lover of all things food related, I can't believe I hadn't heard of this place sooner! Ok well to be honest, any establishment on Staten Island probably isn't super well known. But thanks to my bestie, who moved there about a year ago, I've been in the area much more often. Anyway, I love this place so damn much! I stopped in here on a Monday for lunch and my friend and I ordered the risotto, the hummus appetizer and the potato appetizer. We weren't sure if it would be enough food to share, but we were pleasantly surprised that it was more than enough. Not only did we spend under $24 for enough for 3-4 people, but everything was really really REALLY yummy. The hummus was definitely homemade and served with at least 10 pieces of pita and about a cup and a half of cut up carrot, cucumber and celery. The baked potato wedges were slathered in cheese and had about 2 slices of perfectly fried bacon on top. This also came with about 1/4 cup of sour cream. The risotto was the star of the meal. It was drenched in creamy, oily AMAZING sauce. I would have drank it if you offered it up in a glass. Not only is the food amazing, the service here is 250% perfection. There are a few neurotypical people around helping out, placing orders and giving much needed praise to some smart and enthusiastic developmentally delayed, but equally amazing human beings. Some of these folks can be seen greeting customers, delivering dishes, clearing plates, prettying up tables and just generally being fabulous. Eat here! Drink here! Socialize here! Bring your entire family and all your friends here! Give these people all of your money! Do one or all of these things. You will so happy you did. read more

I have been going to the Harvest Cafe for several years and the place is ALWAYS very clean. I never had a bad time. None of what that prior review is true. I have to say that other places I have been to, I had to send food or silverware back because of spots etc.,. NEVER at the Harvest Cafe. Joe the chef would NEVER dish out bad food. This is the best kept secret breakfast spot on Staten Island! Small but quaint without the crowded or rushed feel! The menu has a nice varied selection to choose from with more than reasonable prices and the food was simply delicious! I loved the breakfast potatoes (perfect crispy to soft ratio)! The staff are very attentive, polite and definitely on point! The smiles were abounding! It was a timely turn around from the when we ordered to when we received our food. Harvest is absolutely perfect when you want a delicious homemade breakfast without slaving in the kitchen all morning. The menu varies with seasons and the seasonal stuff are a must try (July's peach pancakes YUM!) It's always good when on Yelp you're able to find a good mom & pop location ...with great food and one that give back to the community. So of course I will show support by posting this review. It's a small cozy spot located across the street from a park in a residential area. At first i thought we passed it...it looks like a home. While in SI, we stopped but and boy did we enjoy it. We were greeted right away and seated right away. We were so hungry we ordered the beer battered mozzarella sticks, an order of banana French toast and the pretzel chicken sandwich- one with regular fries & one with sweet potato fries. They also have iced coffee so we went with this option. The mozzarella sticks were freshly fried, so nothing sitting in oil and the tomato sauce was good. Now on to the amazing things...the pretzel chicken sandwiches...OMG they are soooo tasty and soooo worth it. The pretzel bun is a nice complement to the chicken and the sauce. It's the right amount of chicken to bread and both fries were also fresh and not oily. The banana walnut French toast has been the best banana walnut French toast we've ever had. It already comes with syrup and caramelized bananas with toasted walnuts that give it a nice crunch. It was sooooo good I recommend everyone to order this. The service here is good and friendly so you cant ask for more. And as I said this place give back to the community so that was a plus to be able to support them. My husband and I came to Harvest Cafe for Brunch today. We both have a very good impression with the place, from the cleanliness, the service, to the food. HC is a warm little cafe that has a warm atmosphere. The host and server were really friendly. The food were good quality and good portion. We had the pretzel crusted chicken sandwich and the turkey with brie sandwich. Both of them were very good. Hubby and I are both quite picky about coffee, and we both agree that their coffee is really fresh and strong, just the way we like it. Overall, you could certainly tell that this place care about their food and customer. I would come back again to support a good cafe with good food, for a good cause. P.S. What a beautiful place! Spotless, open, handmade art by the persons being trained on the walls. Service was excellent. I had the banana walnut challah French toast and my husband had 2 eggs over easy with the HarvestCafe potatoes ( includes both white and sweet potatoes) and sausage. His eggs were a little over done on the bottom; I've had better French toast. However, I can't wait to go back and try other dishes from the lunch and dinner menu My husband and I went back and this time I ordered the frittata that was supposed to have sausage, cheese, and jalapeño peppers. Not a jalapeño to be found, there were red peppers instead. When I asked the waitress what happened, she came back from the kitchen and said they had no jalapeños but never told her. She made an effort to make up for it by offering that we could have an additional item but we didn't need any more food. My husband's dish was ok but I can't remember what he had. I love the whole concept but I'm not really interested in going back any more. I think the cooking could be better read more
