I love this child care center :) My daughter went there for one year, and then we changed her school due to a big move from Riverside. All the teachers and staff were so patient and supportive with my daughter and even us as she started the school process. My daughter felt safe and started to engage in the activities. After a few months, she loved the teachers and even played with some of the kids. She still talks about the good memories from the school and she misses the teachers. Although 2 teachers were unchanged from the beginning until the end of June (best point), the only negative point was the rate at which new teachers were joining the class or moving to other classes. All of them were so kind and nice, but I would have preferred to have a class with 3 consistent teachers for the full year. Again I'd like to thank the Temple Beth Team. read more

This review is not for the teachers, but for the administration and their lack of judgement. I've had 2 of my kids attend and the 1st time around we had a good experience. We thought this would be the same when we enrolled my youngest son at 2 years of age. At 3 it was determined he had a receptive and expressive speech delay. This was communicated to management and my sons teachers. We were very open and shared what we were doing to help him (twice a week speech sessions and trying to get him into an early education program through our school district). There was an issue with him leaving the class room during transition of half day kids. He was able to bypass the teachers, parents coming in and out, and made it to the front gate. Luckily a parent stopped him and alerted staff. To sum up a long story, management pretty much blamed my son for not understanding safety by not opening the gates - granted he is 3 years old. They warned us if there was another incident they would have to terminate his enrollment. 1. The class room baby gate was broken/loose and could easily be opened by any child 2. How was he able to make it to the front gate without the teachers noticing 3. Why would they blame a 3 year old for not understanding safety. They told us they would see to securing the classroom gate and/or replacing it. A few months went by and they made no improvements to the gate and another incident happened where he tried to escape from the gates. They pretty much terminated us on the spot. Let me remind you, he does have a receptive speech delay meaning he has difficulty understanding language. After reminding them they did not fix their gate, the very next day they installed a 2nd gate...kinda too late for that. I reported this incident to their licensing department and they were sited with lack of child supervision. I find it very sad and upsetting that Tanya took no blame in this and that her solution to ensuring my sons safety was to terminate his enrollment. However this turned out to be a blessing in disguise because he is now in a child care facility that actually thinks outside the box and the teachers are amazing, compassionate and really care for your child. Temple is good if you have a normal easy going child. However, if your child is a little more active, or has a learning disability this is not the best place. read more

7/12/2021 Going on one year in October/2021 and my two year old and I still love this pre-school. He started when he was one year and ten months. He's had maybe three different teachers, but this is a good thing because that way he learns to adapt to different teachers and different teaching styles. He's learned sooo much. In only nine months he's learned to count all the way until twenty and count somewhat backwards too. He knows A LOT of Spanish which I absolute love. All the colors, he comes home singing songs, loves to read and right now he is wanting to learn more and more. To new parents. When he first started he cried for like a week and a half. Teachers were super nurturing and I was able to talk to the actual teacher during the day to check on him. I can't be more grateful of this school to be honest. read more

Our son went to Temple Beth El cdc for one year of tk and it was an all around amazing experience. His teacher, Mrs. Palacios, made the classroom such a positive, fun, and warm learning environment. It is very safe and secure and all the staff is so welcoming. We will definitely be coming back when our youngest is old enough to enroll. read more

My daughter was at this preschool for a full school year and I can't say enough positive things about the school, teachers, staff, and curriculum. The entire experience was excellent. I feel fully confident my child is prepared to excel in Kindergarten next fall thanks to Temple Beth El CDC and thanks to her amazing teachers Mrs. Lampers and Mrs. Woods! They were so kind and dedicated - I will be forever thankful! First of all before enrolling I did my research and also toured various preschools/day care centers. Like all parents I wanted the best for my child and I found the perfect fit here. Although they are next to Temple, they are non-demominational school, and they were one of only a couple schools in the area with national accreditation through NAEYC, which means they have to go far beyond the minimal requirements in order to educate young children. Class size was smaller than average, about 16-18 kids in her class with 2 teachers. Younger kids had more teachers with lower student:teacher ratios. Plus her class had 2 college student interns assisting half the year, which meant she got a lot of individual attention. Academically, they offer a very hands-on, interactive, and engaging environment for the kids. The class had different stations, or areas with separate activities: like a kitchen/pretend market for pretend play; a reading corner; an art table for drawing, painting, beading, stamping; an area for playing with blocks, legos, or building puzzles; a science area for weighing rocks, or measuring leaf lengths, etc. They practice writing and recognizing letters and numbers, learn to write their names, and learn songs, rhymes, opposites, counting to 100 by tens, etc. Socially, the kids participate in individual and group activities and are encouraged to be cooperative and to be helpers. Every morning kids are assigned rotating tasks, whether it's changing the date on the calendar, line leader, helping set out snacks, helping prepare snacks on Cooking Days, or helping hand out lunch pails to their peers at lunch, etc., they are learning to help and participate. They are also taught good habits: for example, they must wash their hands when they arrive and before snack and mealtimes, which also helps reduce the spread of germs and sick kids. Physically they get monitored outdoor time daily, except for very hot or rainy days. They have water play days in summer. And they also encourage a healthy lifestyle through the snacks they provide mid-morning (for all kids) and mid-afternoon (full-day kids), always healthy and kid-friendly foods from 2 different food groups. Examples: goldfish crackers and cheese, pineapple chunks and wheat thins, diced pears and juice, tortilla and turkey, bagels and cream cheese, cereal and milk, nilla wafers and banana slices, broccoli and yogurt, etc. Lunch must be sent from home. They have a well structured daily routine with nap time after lunch, plus an optional gymnastics class called GymKids for an additional fee with a performance at the end of the school year. PROGRAMS offered include: Half Days 9 am - 12:30 for ages 18 mo.-30 mo. Toddlers, Two's-Young Threes, Threes, & Pre-K 4's. 9 am - 1 pm for Transitional K. Full Days for all of the above 6:45 am - 6 pm Custom schedules available too. You can also choose Monday - Friday. Or Mon/Wed/Fri. Or just Tue/Thu. PRICES depend on age & enrollment days/times. But when I enrolled they were the least expensive compared to other programs of this caliber. To give you an idea: a Pre-K 4, Mon-Fri, Half Days pays $114/week in 2015. $145 for a half day 18-30 mo. toddler. $182/wk for Pre-K Full Day. $225 for toddler full day. Again these are only 2015 prices. Parental involvement is encouraged and they offer lots of activities for both kids and parents throughout the year, including: parent-teacher conferences, field trips, dress-up parades, picnics, potlucks, class parties, student concerts, book fairs, picture day, Fun Days (silly hair day, pajama day, occupation days..) and many others! We loved attending all, starting with the Back-to-school BBQ & Open House in summer. I'd definitely recommend it if you're considering the school. They let you tour the classrooms and you can meet the teachers. You can also request a classroom tour by contacting Tanya in the office. She is super nice and helpful! The administration also uses emails and an app called LifeCubby to keep parents up to date on your child's assessment results, weekly lesson plans, monthly snack calendar, and newsletters with important dates/events. All three of my boys attended TBECDC from 2012-2018. My youngest just graduated and I just wanted to say how much I appreciated having a great place to send my children for preschool. I will really miss the warm and friendly teachers we have gotten to know over the years. As a former elementary teacher, I feel that I was quite particular about what to look for in choosing a preschool. I loved the vibrant, welcoming environments of the classrooms, the detailed weekly lesson plans (emailed to the parents) and most of all the priority they put on the safety of the children. There is plenty of adult supervision at all times and I never had to worry about leaving my children there. read more

I am writing this review to express our sincere appreciation to the teachers, from Ms.Martinez, Ms. Maldonado, Ms. Frias and Ms. Kelly C. (I hope I spelled their names correctly), in our son's classroom for an extraordinary job that they perform day-in and day-out. I have had the opportunity to stay over with my son after dropping him off and had the chance to observe the great work that they do. Ms. Martinez maintains a well-run classroom and keep things organized. Ms. Frias is a team player, willing to learn and I see her building a warm and positive relationships with the children. Ms. Maldonaldo is diligent and detailed-oriented where she stays on top on things that are important to us, i.e., ensuring that Benjamin gets his ointment, sun screen applied, comforting him, and etc. As for Ms. Kelly C., whenever I see her in the classroom she is always engaged with the children, i.e., reading a book with them, performing activities where the children are involved, interacting with them, performing intentional teaching, etc. Our son's classroom feels like a far more advanced environment for four (4) years old rather than two (2) years old. He has been attending this school since he was an infant. We can't say enough about the all the good things that these teachers perform where we sometimes take for granted. Both of my children attended from 18 months until my daughter went to kindergarten and my son is in TK now. It is the most loving and safe environment. They foster art and education through fun. It is the only NYAC accredited school in the area. The are warm, caring and accommodating. I can't say enough good things about this school or the staff. I have never had an issue with this school what so ever!! My son attended from the age of about 18 mo., he is 4 years old now and he will be in the TK class offered. My daughter, 7 mo, is now attending the school. I sought out a bunch of schools/day cares before I fell in love with this one. They have a huge, shaded playground and super helpful staff. Although this school is on a jewish temple sight, I did not feel any religious presence in the school, besides to recognize the different holidays. I would absolutely recommend this place! read more
