Best restaurant in Kansas. Unquestionably the best breakfast that you will find on Highway 412 between Murphy and Dripping Springs. Endorsed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Two patrol cars there today! It is a cozy, small town roadside café. Elvis, Coca-Cola and OU are well represented on the walls. Comfortable café ambiance. Excellent friendly service. And a perfect breakfast earns the Harvest House "The Best in Kansas!" My usual, perfectly prepared. Check the picture. Great Breakfast. Sadly, I must report, due to inflation the Monday night Hamburger, served between 3PM and 8PM is now a pricy $2. It would be interesting to see what a $2 hamburger looks like. A family diner with great service and great tasty food. The prices were very reasonable. I ordered a catfish dinner and it states what it comes with but I requested a different side and it was no extra cost. There were four nice size pieces of fish, hush puppies, potato and side. And they also put a cup of baked beans. $10.99. Very good and filling. My husband ordered a chef salad. It was loaded with meat and cheese along with the lettuce and egg $6.99. He was happy with the amount and the freshness of it. If we were ever in the area we would return. read more

We stopped here on a drive out to Oklahoma City for some quick dinner. It is comfort food, like one Yelper described. Their prices are cheap and their service is pretty quick. Their customer service was great! They are very friendly and nice! I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which was not a sausage gravy, so I ordered sausage on the side. I love good biscuits and gravy and these ones were pretty good, but not the best. I also had the cheddar peppers, which was jalapeños with cheddar cheese and fried. I'm a huge fan of jalapeños stuffed with cheese, and these ones were pretty good, but I was surprised there wasn't any spiciness to it. I didn't try what the others got, but it got the job done and we weren't hungry for the drive! read more

Was recommended to stop by here for lunch by friends in Oaks, OK. I had the Indian taco and a slice of blueberry cheesecake. My son had a catfish sandwich, cheese sticks, and a slice of chocolate meringue pie. Food was very good, especially the desserts. My only complaint was the chili on the Indian taco wasn't very chili-y (more of pinto beans and ground beef without much spice) but different people make chili different ways. Not much to complain about in the big scheme of things as it was still very delicious. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. read more

We were seated as we came in and handed menus. As we waited to get at least a drink order taken, the 2 couples after us had already had their food order taken. When we metion it to the waitress she was very curt with us. She practically threw my husband's drink at him. It did take 35 minutes to get out order. Food was okay. So oh my gosh. This place is unexpectedly awesome. I was a little nervous walking in though! My dad is a regular here and recommended we stop while doing farm chores. The menu has so many options and the parking lot is full (a good sign) even at 11am. The beans and cornbread were awesome (I was able to swap out the cornbread for fry-bread which was actually prepared right). I'll be back here every time I go over to the farm around lunchtime. Even after working cattle and not being the cleanest they are all about being welcoming. Dad says "grandma" owns the place and from experience, the cooking tastes like it for sure. read more

It is okay food. The reviews and the pictures made me think I was going get really good comfort food but it was not. Their customer service is as good as the rest of the reviewers. I could not find all the items that the other reviewers were talking about nor any of the items pictured on Facebook. So the menu reads that they serve breakfast all day and I decided on a Western omelette and it came with ground meat and some cooked unidentifiable vegetables inside. Not green peppers and cut onions Not what I typically get in a western. The hash browns were soggy and the toast had some kind of squirted on the top butter type stuff but it didn't really taste like butter so I am not sure what is was but it was yellow and it was on my toast. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were really good, but the gravy didn't seem didn't have much flavor. He ordered pancakes, too, which were good. I know, that is a lot of food, but when we try a new restaurant, we do that. I was looking for the chicken fried chicken or the beans and cornbread but didn't see these things on the menu, but it was a large menu so I may have missed it. The desserts that I could see in the cooler were older looking too. I don't know, this whole experience was not what I was hoping. Overall, the people were very nice, it was a clean place with lots of stuff on the walls and tables to look at, there are a couple of TV's but I have Never Ever been in a restaurant that burned scented candles. You know the ones which come in a jar with a lid? Not just one or two, but many. Not just plain white candles, but scented candles. So many that the fragrance was overwhelming. So many that I could smell them in their little entry, you know, the place between the front door and the door to the restaurant. I could not figure out why they would burn scented candles. I thought we were supposed to smell food cooking not candles. Can I say that any other way? Get rid of the scented candles. Not 5 star worthy just for that. Restaurants should not burn scented candles. SO, how would I help make this place better? Blow out he candles, make your omelettes the way they are ordered, make sure your hash browns are brown and have some some crispy spots, don't use squirt on "butter", make your own sausage gravy, it is not that expensive and will taste a lot better, keep your biscuit recipe, they were good and flaky, show me some chicken fried chicken all of the other items everyone is talking about. I don't want a cheeseburger at a place like this, but want all of that home cooked goodness I thought I was going to get. BLOW OUT THOSE CANDLES. It is just too much smell. I think all of the 5 star reviews are sweet but seriously, most any place can always use improvement. 5 stars are reserved for The Four Seasons type restaurants. read more

Harvest House may be the poster child for down home, small town, local restaurants. The menu contains a wide variety of home-made choices, prices are very affordable, quality is great. If the staff is not one big happy family, then they sure have me fooled. Both times we've visited, the place was packed yet service was great. The food is not flashy or trend-setting, rather it is exactly what you expect for home-made style dishes. The beans and cornbread were plain, as in plain delicious. The burger was simple, as in simply how we make 'em at home. Fried potatoes were un-attractive and delicious, exactly how I make mine. The chili was not very creative (nor very spicy!) - it was basic yet satisfying. Monday night special is $1 burgers. This is a ridiculous good deal. This is a small to normal size burger, bigger than expected at this price. You can order breakfast all day here, a nice touch for a local restaurant. Five stars here because the value is incredible, the atmosphere is homey (if not campy) and inviting, the staff come across like neighbors and friends, and because we are already looking forward to visiting again. Note: If you are passing through this area, skip the turnpike and travel 412 or you might miss this place! You can't run 80 like you can on the turnpike, but it is a pleasant drive and Harvest House is one venue that is worth slowing down for a visit. read more

So on our way through the area and since we were starving, we decided to stop here at Harvest House and give it a try. We loved it and will be coming back, that says it all right there! Harvest House is good for sure!! FOOD; Good comfort that is simple and tasty. We both had the Chicken Fried Chicken Wednesday night special for 6.99! What a deal! Portions were just the right size and not skimpy for a special. The Chicken fried chicken was moist and tender on the inside with a nice crisp crunchy coating on the outside and it was covered with a nice white gravy along with the mashed potatoes. Yummyliscious!! The green beans had a little bit of onion and were very flavorful. Everything was seasoned just right, nothing was over salted. Yayyyy for that. Oh and we both really liked the hot rolls very much. BRAVO for hot steaming affordable comfort food!!!! SERVICE: our waitress was very efficient and friendly with a smile! Just got back from trekking Flint Creek and came to the Harvest House to find, cops eating here again lol.... That bothers me. The food was good but took 45 minutes to get because there were alot of cops eating. When we walked in, their vehicles were still running. It bothers me how people are comfortable about them wasting gas like that. Anyway, 1 refill is free unless it's a special drink like cherry limeade. Food was alright but didn't like the price. Two major issues with this place, #1. Very rude staff especially the elderly lady that sets at the register. #2 Hair in the food. I've talked to a couple other people who have said that they've found hair in their food more than once. I can't imagine how many people have actually eaten hair that they haven't seen in the food at this place. read more

We ate at this restaurant on Friday night and boy was it good. It is a typical mom and pop run establishment with great food and down home service. On Friday night they have all you can eat catfish and on Monday night they have $1.00 burgers. I had the catfish dinner which includes 4-5 pieces of fish, slaw, hush puppies, and a side and it was almost more than I could eat. My brother in law had the meatloaf and couldn't finish it, not because it wasn't very good, but because the portion was so generous. We got there early because it starts to get busy when many of the locals come in to eat. I would highly recommend this as a great alternative to your chain restaurant. read more
