We had never been here but decided to give their Easter Buffet a try. They opened at 9 and there was a short line. After they opened, the line moved fairly quickly. They had breakfast food first and the eggs and bacon were wonderful -- no scorched eggs here! The hash brown casserole was also good. They had a salad bar, but we were more interested in breakfast food. There was a carving station with ham and prime rib. Both were very good, although I would have preferred the prime rib to be less done. There was another station that had boiled shrimp. It was cold, very fresh, and delicious. Their bakery items were wonderful. My favorite was the chocolate croissants. They had cakes, cookies, and a large variety of sweets. The buffet was $25, but the only drink that came with that was water. If you wanted coffee or tea or cola, it was a generous extra charge. Their seating area was not very large and filled up quickly. I saw people going upstairs because there were no more seats in the restaurant area. We walked around checking out the groceries after we ate. We have come to Harvest Market three times and the service was good two times, but tonight it was terrible. The waitress did not come to our table, so we had to order our drinks from the bar ourselves, and go downstairs to order our own food. The waitress was more interested in looking at her phone than working. The bartender wasn't very helpful either. Even though I was the only one ordering at the bar I had to wait 5 minutes to order. We always order the Flatbread pizza which is excellent. Because the waitress wouldn't wait on us I had to go downstairs and order. The food was good but it took 30 minutes for it to be delivered. First time coming here, i wanted to check this place out because it looks like it had a lot of great, cool thing as well as unique food items from a grocery store I've never experienced before. I was actually blown away upon a ride. Parking from veterans Boulevard can be a bit tricky but once you're in the strip mall, this place has plenty of parking and it shouldn't be hard finding parking for yourself This place was absolutely huge for a grocery store! Where I walked in from, I was greeted by all the amenities like the : restrooms, hot food Bar, coffee bar, fresh kombucha, etc. The grocery section was very diverse and it had many options such as healthy protein shakes, great single serve meals in the freezer section and plenty of fresh cheeses as well. This store features a really cool upstairs space that I actually did not have a chance to venture to. Tons of fresh produce as well. But ultimately I sell on some of their hot food to go. A chicken breast and some mashed potatoes to go was about $5 which is absolutely good for the price. Overall, I highly recommend this store if I were to come back to the area. Since Springfield Illinois does not have a Trader Joe's. This is my favorite grocery store. I think it is a little pricier than Trader Joe's price for the same type of items. But I like their section of organic and love that they have a lot of produce and local organic farm items. I also love the restaurant that is inside of this place. I had a deeply troubling experience at Arves Market, which is actually owned by County Market under a different name. I've shopped there many times, often facing issues with produce not scanning, requiring me to manually enter codes--something an employee advised me to do weeks ago. During my last visit, after carefully scanning everything, I was closely watched and then told to move to a cashier register--though there's no limit on self-checkout items, and I've successfully checked out full carts in the past. Instead of assisting me, they blocked my payment and called the police. I felt racially profiled. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious their vegan cafe food was! The BBQ Jackfruit Stuffed Sweet Potato, and the Black Bean Burger were phenomenal! They are not always listed on the menu though so just ask if you would like to try them! They are very considerate and also have a separate fryer they can use for their fries. BUYER BEWARE: NASTIEST DELI FOOD AROUND. I paid $14 for two of their "fresh" pretzel-bun sandwiches, one ham, the other turkey. Don't ever buy their sandwiches without inspecting them. Ours had the most stale bread we'd ever had. The cheese was dark and dried on the edges and inside the sandwich. Two wilted pieces of lettuce. The turkey was bone dry with no mayonnaise (guess that costs too much). The ham did not look good. The service was not great. In fact, the service was horrible. Don't waste your food money here. Just go hungry or stop by MacDonalds. At least their food wasn't made 3 days ago. I will never buy deli food here again. Over priced and really unacceptable quality. I don't even think the health department would have approved these sandwiches. I think they were old; got put in new containers; slapped a new sell-by date on it; and we got ripped off. I had really high hopes when this place opened. It's like a Whole Foods with lots of interesting goods and a positive shopping experience. After today, I doubt I'll go back. I drove across town thinking a grocery of such high quality would care enough about its customers to enforce the mask mandate in a way that Walmart and Aldi's don't. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. There were at least 8 people, including an employee either completely without a mask or wearing it as a beard before I stopped counting. I mentioned at at the checkout counter, and the employee just shrugged. I told customer service, and she said they only try to enforce it with employees, not customers. They seem to care more about arranging the vegetables than preventing infectious disease. It honestly makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the rest of the store. read more

Went there Monday morning because the ad in Sunday's paper had some great deals. At the deli, was informed they had not yet made the advertised antipasti salad. Seafood counter guy had no clue about specials, there was no $7.00/lb. sea bass and no Faroe Island salmon filets for $12.99/lb. Drove 20 miles to this supermarket because of the ad. Review has to do with the new Veterans Pkwy store in Springfield. Went during the day and it was still crowded. I had issues with the aisles, way to tight, not much room when there is more than 1 cart in the aisle. The displays around the bakery along with the meat area doesn't have enough room to pass if someone stops to look at items. I know it takes time to get use to where your favorite items are in a new store, but I don't see how they can fix tight aisle issues, also couldn't find a number of items I wanted, got tired going in circles trying to find them, I just gave up and checked out. read more

Just got home from a visit to County Market on Veterans Blvd. Terrible experience. Used the self check-out. As I normally do. I inadvertently touched the key for "organic" Russet potatoes instead of Russet potatoes. This was the last of my 19 items I was buying. I asked the woman monitoring the checkouts if she could cancel/delete the "organic" and let me input the correct purchase. She pushed a few icons on the screen and we waited a minute or two. Nothing happened. She then told to get in the regular checkout and take everything i purchased/bagged and have it checked out again. Really? I did so and told myself never again. I find it hard to believe that an item cannot be deleted from the checkout list. I think the person(woman) assisting customers was/is incompetent in this phase of her employment.
