I love my local Hy-Vee Grocery Store! If you're a bargain shopper like me, then trust me that the best bang for your buck is shopping here for meats when they're on sale. Yes, there are sales daily, but the meat from Hyvee is quality and always gives my homemade cooking that extra "umph" so stock up when they're on sale! ~ Not to mention the staff is always pleasant and welcoming and chill, and this is the only place where you never see a shelf empty (unless it's on sale ) and it's always clean and their restaurant smells delicious! The catering manager lady likes to speed thru the parking lot and park like she's then only one in the lot... then call me a deragorty term whilst following me into the store. Deli worker was eating ham while slicing ham... called her out to wash her hands and change her gloves and im the one in the wrong?? Then she takes a phone call with her gloves on, wipes her face and proceeded to return to work. She is clearly trying to get someone sick with deli meat. Shame. Produce department is dirty. My experience here is usually really good but today it was horrible I wanted to eat some food in the Asian area and I was waiting like 5 minutes for service and a worker in the back saw me didn't do anything then a different worker came to me gave me the wrong rice I wanted then he gave me my receipt it was a bit folded and crinkled then gave me my food and kinda threw it at me slid it pretty hard I am super disappointed. And the Ambiance was pretty good the store was very colorful and pretty . read more

Stopped by to check out the produce, looking for fresh corn specifically. Unfortunately they didn't have any yet, might be a tad early although the farm stands have some. Saw some avocados and tomatoes that looked pretty nice BUT no price tag for the larger avocados, the Sweet Bomb tomatoes, or the vine ripe tomatoes. Asked the guy stocking produce and he just shrugged his shoulders, although did offer to find the prices for me. I was in a rush so had to run. As I went to the check out area I spoke with the male employee keeping an eye on things and told him about no prices on so many things, including the Haloumi cheese, and his response was "I don't know, it's only my second day here". I asked if he was a manager and he said one of a few. No promise to fix the problem not that I had time to wait. Visited here from out of town. It's nice to see a grocery store that I am familiar with. They have some nice restaurants inside. It was clean and the staff were friendly. I tried calling the number you gave me, but I got nowhere. This makes the fourth major issue with your store. 1. Bad attitude at CS counter 3 weeks ago. 2. Horribly stale cookies 3. Salmon that made us sick 4. The worst attitude I encountered today was when I called the number you provided to follow up on the spoiled salmon issue. The woman who answered seemed to care little. We are no longer shopping at Hy-Vee. We shopped here for a year, spending approx $175.00 a visit. We shopped your competitor yesterday and were quite satisfied. read more

We came in to check out the store as travelers thru the area. I found several items that I can't get where I live in the South so was happy to find them here. I shop at this store frequently. Their meat department is very good. Bought some cooked shrimp today for the first time. I opened it and it was very smelly. Took one bite and it was mealy and tough. Threw the whole batch out. I won't buy seafood there again . read more

On December 23, called Produce department to request a fruit basket to be picked up later that day. Called back and asked for another one, too. Both baskets were full of beautiful, mixed fruits including some not listed on the national website ad. Both recipients were very pleased with their gift baskets. Hy-Vee is by far the greatest grocery store in the world! That's right, the greatest! Hy-Vee has an amazing selection of baked goods. Their cookies and pumpkin squares are by far my favorite. Hy-Vee's meat counter is great! Their have the best cuts of meats at great prices. I don't live close to a Hy-Vee so when I visit the grocery, I bring a cooler so that I can bring back home. If you like ice cream, grab some Whitey's Ice Cream. I wish they offer more flavors but what they have is great. The liquor department has a large variety of beers, wines, and other tasty drinks. read more

What I do NOT like is out of the past four times I asked for it twice, I was told it was either not available or has not been done yet. Both times were mid-afternoon weekdays. Just moved here and had this grocery store recommended by a friend. After shopping here a few times for groceries, I stopped in one day to try the chinese restaurant part. Went to the counter only to be greeted (well not really at all) by a short, blue haired girl who was too busy on her phone to notice I was standing there. After she looked up to help me, she seemed bothered by my presence and never made eye contact with me. While I was sitting to eat my food, she began making videos with another worker who had longer black hair, disturbing my meal. Food tasted like rubber. Will NOT be back here! Covid my Ass! This has nothing to do with them having two cashiers on a Sunday evening. And lines and lines of people trying to check out. Folks were so frustrated like myself they were just abandoning their nearly full cart loads of groceries to bolt to another store. When are you people gonna wise up and not accept this type of customer service. They charge up to a dollar more on everything from broccoli to Milk and not a soul says hold on no way am I paying these prices. read more

The store closing at 10:00 p.m. has become a particular annoyance. It's not the fact that it closes at 10:00, it's the fact that they lock the front set of doors and keep open the small door back towards the alcohol department. That's a slight inconvenience, with the real problem being the fact that they try to lock that door 20 minutes before they close. People who are getting off work towards the end of the night are trying to get in and out of the store as quickly as possible to get what they need. When people work that late, their sleep schedule does not allow for them to come in and shop during the day, or it cuts into their daily routine in such a way that they have to make late night pickups. When many stores drop their 24-hour schedule it caused a lot of late night workers difficulty in getting their shopping done. Closing an hour earlier is already an inconvenience, as I stated, trying to lock the doors 20 minutes before the store closes is juvenile, and it's bad business. There is a drugstore right across the street that is 24 hours, and that's exactly where they're driving their business. Tonight, people were actually getting locked in the store, and they had to wait until the staff came over to let them out. That is a fire safety hazard. So, it wasn't keeping people out, it was keeping people stuck inside. This review is a psa: it is for your convenience and for your safety. read more

If you want the greatest fresh bread made daily, you must visit HyVee and check out the 13 or so daily breads. The have a San Francisco sourdough that is actually from the starter bread used on the Warf in San Francisco. Trust me, we moved from California a year ago and we've had our share of the real San Francisco sourdough bread. This is not a close second, this is the exact San Francisco bread! Awesome! Don't go to the bread isle, go to the back left hand corner of the store and your jaw will drop. Fantastic selection and everyone of the breads is great. read more

Their online shopping leaves little to desire. Like the store a lot but the online shopping doesn't allow you to alter your order after you place it. They tend to substitute items that are not close to what you really wanted and they never email or text me when my order is ready. You show up in your allotted time and hope it is ready. I tried the boneless chicken wing bar for the first time today. At $7.99 a pound I expect the boneless chicken wings to be fresh, tender and flavorful. Instead, the boneless chicken wings I purchased today were NOT fresh, they were dry, tough and bland. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the boneless chicken wings. Hyvee is a high end grocery store, so I expect 5 star gourmet food for the expensive prices they charge. I will give Hyvee another chance by trying their hot Asian food selections. I really liked Hyvee when they first opened. Now, not so much. I've used the online Aisle shopping twice now. The first time, I was shorted 6 pounds of carrots and have never been credited for them to date, yet told it would credit back in a few days. A few items were omitted also so I had to make a trip into the store and get them myself. I also had to wait over 20 minutes for them to come out and deliver my groceries. The second time I used them was last week. I know the COVID-19/Coronavirus have and are having an impact on our lives, but really. Hyvee struck out again. First I receive a text that says they've received my order. So far, so good and unfortunately that's where it ended...I added some things so I went in to get them and then called to pick up my order. I tried calling the store before I went in but no one answered the phone so I waited till closer to the end time to go. It was after 4pm by then and I was to pick my order up between 3-4. I was in the checkout line and asked the checker to call Aisle online and let them know I was there to pick up my order. The manager of Aisle online came up to the register to let me know my order was going to be delayed another day. She also felt the need to explain to me what extending it out by another day was. In a VERY condescending way I might add. She stated an email was sent out. I asked why another text hadn't been sent out. I'm not one to check email daily or weekly some times. I wasn't offered another solution so I left the store. The next day, my sister called me to let me know there shelves were practically empty and if I wanted my order, I should go in and get it myself, which I immediately did. I called but got no answer from the front desk (as usual) so I just went in. I spoke with one of the employees who was shopping for another customer to tell her what I was doing and that I'd come to them when I was done to have them check it out. She said that was fine. No problem...no, I wasn't that lucky. When I finished getting the few items I could find on my list, I went to them to get it checked out. The same girl was back there and told me she'd get her manager. She asked my name and disappeared for a minute. When she came back out she said her manager had cancelled the order and I could just go to the checkout and do it that way. I didn't bring any cash with me and don't keep much in my account so I knew right then I was screwed. I was told the credit was only a "hold" and it would credit back immediately. Knowing this is NOT the case I went to the front office and asked the guy there to hold my groceries in the cooler so I could drive back home and get enough cash to pay for my groceries. So for this order I had to go to Hyvee "THREE" times to get an order I'd placed online for my convenience. Your online shopping isn't working for me. I might give you one more chance but I'm really on the fence about it. I REALLY miss Shop n Save. More and more each day. read more

Conflicted about my experiences with HyVee. I love the variety of food they have, their deli and bakery, and their Health Market. Sometimes their FuelSaver can be a good deal too! However, it's the only store I've been to where they're usually out of at least one of the produce items I need, and it's also the only store where I'm continuously overcharged. By a lot. And when you try to get that overcharge fixed at Customer Service, expect to wait in a very long line and be treated with less than friendly service. I typically only come here now if I'm looking for something that only HyVee specifically has. read more

This is one of my favorite grocery stores. I wish they had them everywhere. the store is very clean and everyone that I have encountered greeted me with a smile. The organic section is very nice. There are a lot of good items to choose from. The cheese station is amazing. You can get almost anything you want. One of my favorite areas is the bakery. This particular visit I was looking for some gourmet cookies to take to some friends. The baker came from behind the display to show me other options and even told me she would make some fresh ones for me. She was great!!! This store has items that you wont find a Walmart. Although the prices are a little higher, the quality is much better. Just the produce alone is so much better. The spirits section has decent selections and everyone is always ready to answer any questions. You can eat lunch or dinner and shop in the same place. Who wouldn't love that? read more

My most favorite "hippie" grocery store. The amount of items available for "healthy" - protein bars and powder Dogs - a whole section of dog treats Pre-made - a whole area to order food hot, a whole area to get premade salads, pasta salads (BLT pasta salad is a guilty pleasure), prepackaged fruits - blue berry, blackberries, strawberries It is all amazing and i love shopping there. Checks out are rather slow, so plan accordingly. Bonus - booze available connected and with a seperate checkout. read more

I've picked up groceries from the Hy-Vee a couple times now and have mixed feelings. The specialty cheese section is large and I'm looking forward to eating my way through a lot of the offerings, but some other areas of the store have been hit or miss. The swordfish was great, but the steaks were not of very good quality. Be sure to look through the weekly ad and take advantage because they do have good specials. Otherwise, I've found that a lot of their regular pricing is higher than other grocery stores in town. Last week I activated my fuel saver + perks card so I'm interested to see how much of a discount I actually start to see at the gas pump. read more

Loved the store, it's kind of like Whole Foods meets Ralphs. Very nice selection of fresh produce, great bakery (we bought an assortment of cupcakes for the whole family). I am spoiled because I am used to my Whole Foods in California, so I didn't LOVE HyVee the way I love Whole Foods (yes, I love WF!), but I am glad a place like this is finally available to the people of Springfield!! Great to have a store in Springfield (had Pavilions in Cali) with higher end and hard to find options. Some items are a little pricier than the Walmart or S&S, but the quality is worth it. Wife loves the fresh seafood (grilled wild caught salmon, mmmmm) and better produce. We both love the fresh artisan breads (we get different types every time we go), the selection of cheeses, and the variety of deli meats. The bulk products are great when you need just the right amount and the fresh ground peanut butter is heavenly. The food bar is excellent to pick up lunches for work and the employees throughout the store are always top notch. It's not your typical grocery store, it's a step above. read more

So disappointed in this Hy Vee. Went to get dried beef one day and they didn't have it. So they said they would order it and it would be in on Wednesday Well I am over a hour away and asked if they could save me a pound. No need cause we get four large pieces and we usually only sell a pound a week. So I showed up this morning and they said there sold out. Never walking in this store again!! The staff in the bakery section is outstanding!! The employees in this store are always smiling and helpful. So much different atmosphere than most Springfield stores where they act like you're in the way. I visited the bakery section yesterday afternoon looking for a carrot cake for my daughter. The lady who helped me searched all the shelves and said she thought they had one but it looked as if the last one had just been bought. I said no worries and I was on my way. A few minutes later she came and found me and said that she had one for me! Most places wouldn't have given me a 2nd thought when I walked away but this individual did. It meant a lot to me (and my daughter when she got her cake!). Thank you Springfield Hy-Vee for hiring good people and training them on what customer service really means. This is my favorite grocery store! I was able to find everything from espresso cheese to Pacifico beer! I love Hy-Vee!

The Deli seems to span the entire south wall of the store. There is literally a pizza buffet, lots of other hot food too. The salad bar is huge and has plates and trays so you can eat lunch right there in the cafeteria located at the south east corner next to the entrance to their full-service restaurant. read more

My favorite grocery store for sure!!! I love that they have so many different healthy foods and selections here. I actually stopped by last night to pick up a couple groceries and had THE BEST service from a particular employee! I was looking for a certain type of ice cream that I got a couple weeks ago, and Spencer A. was very, very helpful! Cute and so nice! Every time I come to Hyvee, I always have great service so I'm a happy girl. County Market is closer to my house, but the drive to Hyvee is always worth it. read more
