We got our ice cream selections to go. The Cookies and Cream was good and the Chocolate Peanut Butter was excellent. My wife got something like a Chocolate Fudge that she really enjoyed and said it was better than the Mocha she also got. What I did like was the attention and care the person who must have been the manager showed. This couple ordered two cones and were given a white paper bag. At the same time two cones came to the counter. She quickly realized that that couple had been given the wrong order. She got them straightened out and already had my ice cream out of the bag the other couple had touched and a fresh one open but before putting anything in the bag she asked if I wanted my order rescooped and that they'd be happy to do so. I declined since they only touched the bag and didn't open it but I appreciated the option and the way she handled the situation. read more

Great options especially for vegans or people with certain allergies. It seems like they take care to use separate spoons for scooping which is nice. Service is sort of rushed, which is understandable as it's mostly teens working there, but oh boy - I saw something pretty disgusting. There was a taster spoon trash can put on the counter and one of the workers pulled a spoon out from it to give someone a sample. I tried to tell another employee but he shrugged me off and said it's not trash - then I spun it around to show him the trash label. He was about to tell the worker, but ultimately gave up. That was pretty disgusting but maybe management didn't give the team proper training. Also weird that prices are not visible anywhere until you check out. Seems easy enough to write it on the board especially since there's a board for flavors and a board with step by step instructions of size, flavor, and toppings read more

This is by far the BEST ice cream you can get on the island! Me and my family have been coming here every season for years and it remains our go-to throughout every different owner. The workers are always very kind, quick, and helpful. Not to mention all the ice cream is absolutely delish! The inside and outside is always completely clean and well lit. Think old walk up counter in an old house/building with a front porch to sit. Smack dab in the middle of Harvey Cedars, parking for us is always easy. Lines move through quickly, good assortment of flavors, staff seems nice if not at times a tad bored. It's a treat every year. read more

While I believe the new owners have done a great job updating the physical establishment, I'm slightly disappointed with the ice cream. No where did I see prices listed and they charged me an extra $2.75 for vegan ice cream. My friends and I all ordered a small and each of us received different amounts of ice cream. The ice cream is good...but in a world where everyone is trying to make crazy gourmet flavors and usually fails bad, "good" ice cream like you had growing up deserves a higher rating. The line is bad, especially within the last 2 hours before closing. They really need some extra help to get the line moving faster! Our family loves HCICP! Salted Caramel Pretzel and Cinnamon Bun are fan fave flavors with our group, as is the Mocha Java Chip!! Flavors are a 4 but service is a 3+ if you get the "Free" cookie offered with each ice cream. Their ice cream cake designs with shore motifs are adorable and have been huge hits for some great summer celebrations. Just Walkable enough from our place which is great to have something to look forward to on our walk, and to walk off what was consumed!! Lines are long especially Fri/Sat but open late so Get In Line, and enjoy!! Not much good seating unfortunately, but no one seems to care. Not open on Sunday at 9pm?!? My family refuses to go here because of illegal labor practices. When my brother and I were teenagers we both (in separate years) got hired to work there for a "probationary" period and were never paid. Nice little ice cream shop. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon in August, and there was no wait to order. Ice cream was good, but nothing spectacular. Seating areas inside or outside, so you can cool off in the air conditioning, or sit outside on the porch and watch people and cars pass by on the road. We sat outside and enjoyed it. Not only is it the best ice cream on LBI but it is the best service of any ice cream store on the Island. They are friendly and efficient. I don't know how, in a store that is no bigger and, in many cases smaller, than most on the island, they get their customers in and out much quicker than anyone else without rushing anyone. They are always pleasant about giving tastes of a few flavors. They also have unique menu items like their ice cream nachos and homemade ice cream sandwiches. The "every ice cream deserves a cookie" motto and free cookie handout is just a bonus. read more

We have been going here for years. New owners took over 2 seasons ago and the service has definitely gotten slower. There have always been long lines but now the owner is the only one that takes the order and tells her employees what to make. She never smiles!!! I get that it's busy & the season does not allow for a night off, but enjoy yourself a little! They have only 2 ice cream sizes - small & large - small is $4.05 and large is $4.60. I ordered a small in a sugar cone and there was next to nothing on the cone. It was 2 scoops but definitely not full scoops. Not worth $4! Their "special" is free cookies with every ice cream - who cares? You get a tiny 2" cookie with each ice cream. I would rather get more of what I ordered - ice cream! There are other ice cream shops in the area that sell ice cream for a better price & larger size. read more

This place is so cute. In a quiet cute part of the island !! The service is very good and everyone is nice. Long lines = nice conversations with strangers as everyone on LBI is vacation mode and super nice :) The cinnabon was so good!! Also the mint chocolate chip was extra minty. I LOVE HCICP! I don't understand why it gets bad reviews. The service has always been pleasant for me and the ice cream is so good! Additionally, it's just brilliant to support local businesses. Every time I visit this place there is a line, and that's nothing to complain about. A place like this having consistent lines is a good indicator of a worthwhile business. Their custard is just right, and they have real Italian Ice. Growing up in the shadow of Philly, I know Italian Ice when I taste it. Visiting HCICP is THE highlight of my summers. I can't get enough of them when I'm around! Pay them a visit when you're on the island! read more

Cost almost 9 bucks for 2 ice creams that weren't even filled higher than the rim of the little styro foam cups. And I'm not kidding.the ice cream didn't even make it above the rim! Hoffmans in point pleasant no has the portion 3 inches above the rim. The young girl at the counter was very nice but the woman acted like she was doing us a favor. HCICP is amazing! Not only is it the best ice cream on LBI, but possibly the best ice cream I've ever had! Some of my favorite flavors are Touchdown, Choc. Chip Cookie Dough, Graham Cracker... so many more I want to try. My one regret is that I don't make it to LBI enough for this place.
