If you would like to have mini donuts at your event, do NOT hire Harvey's. I have waited a year to post this review, thinking perhaps my memory might soften. It hasn't. Harvey's was to provide dessert for 150 people at my son and daughter in law's wedding on Friday, August 1st, 2025. Harvey was there with his set up, with his hat, BUT NO DONUT BATTER. He sent his helper back over the mountain for batter-- making dessert, no kidding, 90 minutes late. And, get this, when they got back with the batter, they discovered they also had NO PAPER CONES. So our guests, who were still there at 9pm, received mini donuts served in industrial coffee maker filters. I am not kidding. He agreed to refund our money, and sent the check. WHEN I WENT TO CASH THE CHECK, HE HAD STOPPED PAYMENT ON IT. The donuts were a gift from my terminally ill mother (who passed in December) to her grandson, the groom. They were promised a "first donut" kiss photo for her-- that obviously didn't happen as the photographer left at 9pm before the donuts were served. I will happily post a photo of the stopped payment check. I can't tell you if the donuts were good or bad, because I couldn't find anyone who actually had some. Harvey claims he made them all, but I can't say whether he did or didn't. What he did do was forget the batter, forget the paper cones, and then commit to a refund, then cancelled payment on the check. I spoke with small claims court (I am across the country in Pittsburgh, PA) who advised to negotiate. He refused. So, a year later, I have not softened. He's a real creep. read more

I didn't realize they make the actual donuts right in front of you as you order them! They are so fresh and warm because of this! Picking my toppings was a bit hard to do because the sky was the limit. I ended up just going with a pre-put together top idea that was on the menu with the help of the lady who was taking my order. But you can really create your own toppings ideas just like an ice cream shop! Next time I go back (and there will definitely be a next time) I will look at my options beforehand and be better prepared with my ideas of what I want! read more

The doughnuts here are pretty good. It's a strange little place in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and we'd been trying to go there for a while, as they are only open a few hours at night on a coupe days a week but we finally made it. You just walk around the back and into the courtyard and go to the window and order. There's no actual round doughnuts, just doughnut holes that come in dozens. All the flavors from plain to whatever, cost between $7 and $10 or so. They ain't cheap! We got three dozen doughnut holes and a couple coffees and it was $38. I did really like the maple bacon ones that I got... A bit pricey for me, especially because eating all 12 was easy, and we shared all 3 dozen and there was 5 of us. A nice option but I think we will save our doughnut eating for Safeway, or maybe somewhere else that actually has full sized doughnuts. read more

Amazing Gluten Free doughnuts!!! Almost all toppings (except Oreo and Graham cracker) are available. They are bigger than the regular version and sold separately ( regular sold by the dozen). I had the salted caramel, the maple, and the powdered sugar....which was recommended to me and turned out to be my favorite! We booked Harvey's for our recent wedding in August and it was a HUGE hit!! We actually ran out of donuts because guests kept going back for more! The staff day of were super nice and throughout the planning process they were super easy to work with and very accommodating. They provide all the equipment needed which made set up super easy. We drove from Petaluma to find the railroad location closed. There was a sign saying the First St location was open so we drove on over. I found Harvey's on accident coming home from Sonoma. My boyfriend and I wanted to stop and grab something small before we got on the road. I'm not going to lie Harvey's is in the most random spot in the middle of homes but MY GOODNESS do they make the best donuts! The owner was also the person taking orders and he told us that these were going to be the best donuts we've ever had and he wasn't far off! The donuts are made in a tiny little machine and you can actually see the them being made while you stand in line. We decided on the powdered sugar, chocolate and maple bacon. The bacon was fresh cooked crumbles with a maple sauce, hands down my favorite of the 3 that we ordered. The powdered sugar was a close second!! HEADLINE: Very cool confection vendor bringing his mini donut-making contraption and sugar-coated delights to an event near you! Ran into this little food concession booth at the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras this past weekend. Harvey Cohen is the proprietor and he brings his wares out to weddings, parties, fund-raisers (like this event raising money for local high school students' college scholarships), fairs and festivals. We were on our way out after gorging on all the food court items and noticed his displays of hot little donuts with all sorts of different coatings and confections in paper cones. Wifey and I simply couldn't leave without sharing a cone of this hedonistic goodness so we ordered up an order of mini donuts with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce. Each batch is hand-crafted, as we learned from Harvey, who is a most affable vagabond, in this contraption that is basically a mini Krispy Kreme deep fryer process. Only about four feet long, the process starts with his very own proprietary batter in a dollop-making contraption that drops a single donut's batter into basically a river of heated oil. The donuts floats / travels down the river of oil and comes to a "flipper" mid way through the stream and is flipped over to fry up the other side of the donut. It completes its journey and is flipped out into a staging area wherein they dry off and are hand-picked up warm and ready to be covered with .... well ... basically whatever you want. Sugar glaze, Oreo bits, mini chocolate chips, mini marshmellows, M&M's, almonds, sprinkles, hot fudge, whipped cream ... whatevah! Our choice of chocolate and powdered sugar was magnificently decadent ... truly, literally, finger licking good!!! As we were enjoying them, Henry advised us he makes his own sugar from a recipe involving vanilla bean and citrus ... absolutely fabulous. Halfway back to the car Wifey looks at me and asks if we should get another!!!! Not without inducing diabetic comas for the both of us. We booked Harvey's for our wedding reception. Unfortunately the machine was not working and the donuts could not be made. As sad as this was (especially since it was a special tribute to my late father) I am an understanding person and know that things happen. I let it go and enjoyed my wedding day. The wedding was Friday and by Sunday I still hadn't heard anything from Harvey's. No acknowledgment of what happened let alone an apology. No contact about my deposit. So I sent an email. Nobody responded. So on Monday morning I called. Harvey picked up and told me that as soon as "she" gets in I will have her call you first thing. Nobody called back. Tuesday morning I called and left a voicemail. No reply. Tuesday afternoon I wrote a more strongly worded email to say that I'd appreciate some sort of contact and that I was beginning to feel frustrated. I finally received a response from Harvey that was pretty short and he asked me to call him. I called expecting some kind of apology for the delay but Harvey was just very argumentative and defensive. I was patient and said that I understand he is a small business and is understaffed but that it would be nice if he could also hear me out. That as a client who is 5 days out from an event with no contact from them and being ignored multiple times that I reached out, that he could understand my frustration. He just continued to argue that he's never had a complaint and I should have known that he would reach out based on reviews etc... He said that I didn't leave a voicemail because he checked the messages. He said he had too many emails and everything else other than "I understand that could be frustrating and I'm sorry we didn't reach out sooner". Anything. Just felt very defensive and argumentative so after going in circles I suggested that we should probably end our conversation because I felt like I wasn't getting through to him and as long as it's resolved we don't need to keep going. They did provide the refund of deposit promptly and I'm sure the donuts are delicious. Just beware that communication is lacking and that if anything does go wrong you'll need to keep at it and don't expect an apology. Unfortunate overall. read more

Harvey's catered at my work place's corporate event, so I can't comment on much besides their food. Harvey's has a little mini donut machine, and they had a mixing stand on a table near by, so I assume they make the donut batter fresh as well. The machine pipes out little mini donuts that go down a conveyer belt of oil and cook in minutes-- right before your eyes! The mini donuts come out hot and fresh. They then are immediately dressed in toppings and served to you in a fun paper cone. How cute! I tried the chocolate glaze with rainbow sprinkles and the lemon glaze with powdered sugar. As for the donuts themselves-- they were very cakey, and quite greasy as they didn't get time to really drain from the oil they were fried in. I love donuts, but I prefer more dough-y donuts than cake-y donuts. The chocolate glaze with rainbow sprinkles were very, very sweet (as expected I guess). I probably couldn't handle more than the portion size (which was 2-3 mini donuts). I couldn't taste a lot of lemon flavor in the lemon glazed donut, but it might have been because that particular donut didn't have enough of the glaze. I don't have a huge sweet tooth so I thought it was a so-so food experience. Definitely fun to watch your donuts being made, though! read more
