Food was decent, but the guy behind the counter (possibly the manager) could use an attitude adjustment. When I mentioned that the iced coffee wasn't very good, he seemed genuinely offended rather than interested in addressing the issue. He also appeared confused when I suggested a refund. I then asked if I could just get some jam instead, and even that seemed like too much for him to process. For a place where our group spent over $150, I expected a more professional and customer-focused response. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful, which honestly made me feel bad for them if they have to deal with that attitude on a daily basis. What an amazing place. Cute outside patio that is set back from road and is filled with potted plants! The homemade salsa for the breakfast burrito is so flavorful and delicious and complements their homemade sausage beautifully. The meals were great! Turkey bagel and housemade vanilla latte were definitely shoe stoppers. Donuts and scone were good, though they were a little dryer than we anticipated. That said, we would go back for more. The real star of the show was the orange loaf. It was basically a baby cake and was so moist. This alone is worth going for. They have breakfast, a small selection of pastry and bread and a modest breakfast/lunch menu. So, if you come here hungry.. Trust me. Get the biscuit breakfast. "two buttermilk biscuits with house-made sausage gravy, three scrambled eggs and arugula $18" Was talking to the gentleman working the counter and he mentioned the head chef specializes in southern cooking. I'm not a connoisseur with this genre of food, but I've had a fair amount of it. Surely the most enjoyable biscuits and sausage gravy I've had. A local RI place and a local FL come close but Baker and Cook takes the cake. This is also a heavy portion. I was filled up after this and I have a healthy appetite. I know the biscuit and sausage gravy is the main attraction here but the eggs and arugula salad were equally tasty. All around great breakfast (my favorite breakfast of my vacation in fact). Was so happy to find this place that you could easily drive right by if you didn't know it was there and so good! Parking is limited but there is a spacious outdoor seating area. Had breakfast there for the first time and was amazed at how tasty everything was and looked. Never have I seen gluten free beignets and they were outstanding and hard not to want more, super tasty and fresh! I took some lemon bars to go and they were also remarkable. The staff are committed to serve timely, hot delicious and well presented plates. The outdoor garden feels private and the decor charming in a farm to fork style of basics without frill. My husband and I ate breakfast here Saturday morning while visiting Sonoma. The employees were very nice and the restaurant, as a whole, had a great vibe to it. Family friendly and pet friendly. I got the smoke salmon bagel, which you do have to assemble yourself (totally fine), but the bagel itself, which I'm not sure if they're house made, was delicious. The whole meal was delicious but the bagel was light and fluffy and just really, really yummy. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito which was HUGE and also veryyyyy delicious!! So their food, from what we ordered was great. I wasn't overly impressed with my iced vanilla coffee though. It tasted a little burnt and more that than vanilla. If we went back and it happened again, I'd let them know. I have the feeling they'd rectify it. But overall, delicious food and a great spot to hang out for breakfast. read more

You definitely need a coffee or beverage to enjoy alongside the donut. The turkey bagel breakfast sandwich was just okay in my opinion. The bagel was fine, but no flavors really stood out to me for the sandwich itself. Drink: my dirty chai was not that great. I almost wonder if I received the wrong drink. If you're planning to order to go: Baker and Cook is a cute, cozy café with delicious pastries and great breakfast options. We live just around the corner and have walked over several times--it definitely deserves five stars for the vibe alone. However, I'm giving it three stars because of a recent to go experience with their salmon bagel sandwich. I ordered it to-go and instead of receiving a sandwich, I got a deconstructed version: salmon, bagel, tomatoes, cream cheese, capers, and onions all packed separately in a box. I had to assemble it myself, which, if I'd wanted to build my own bagel, I would have just gone to the store and done that! What was even more confusing is that my wife's croissant sandwich came perfectly assembled and looked beautiful. So why did I have to play chef with mine? I hope this review helps the staff understand that we go to restaurants to get ready-to-eat meals. We tip to receive ready-to-eat meals. It would be nice to at least be notified in advance if a sandwich or dish is deconstructed for a reason. I'd love to return, and if things improve, I'm willing to change my review after another visit. read more

When I asked about it they said there was a printing error. That was it. What did that mean anyway? No apologies just some excuse about the printer. When a bakery offers vegan and gluten-free options, I perk up! And when those vegan and gluten-free options are awesome? Then I'm pretty much a loyal fan for life and telling everyone! Baker and Cook is a Sonoma sanctuary for a stand-out breakfast or lunch. My husband & I loved it here and can't wait to visit again! If I lived in Sonoma, I'd probably come here at least a few times a week...shoot, maybe daily! They've got incredible baked goods (as already mentioned), great coffee, brunch-y options, a little specialty grocery/market area, and a spacious outdoor patio area with lots of tables, umbrellas, and plants galore. It's such a beautiful and inviting place, and I'm so glad I finally had a chance to check it out! My husband and I had such a fun time here fueling up for the Sonoma Harvest Music Festival. We got here early and still missed out on their vegan scones, but we got their GF Carrot Oat Streusel Muffin (which is also dairy-free) and 2 almond milk lattes that were all excellent and full of flavor! We saw a bowl of fruit at another table that we just couldn't pass up so we walked back in and ordered that too. This fruit bowl isn't your average fruit bowl...it was full of honeydew, pineapples, grapes, plums, oranges, and figs! How cool is that?! Quick pit stop before heading up north and came across this little breakfast nook on yelp! I came with family, upon first look we thought it was a take-out only spot but then we saw a glimpse of the back where you can sit down and dine. We got the almond croissant, french toast, breakfast bagel and espressos. The almond croissant was absolutely delicious, flaky on the outside and has a soft, buttery and lightly sweetened center. The almond filling had just the right amound of almond flavoring, it did not overpower the croissant itself. The french toast was made with their house sourdough! The toast itself was super delicious, however the apples could have been replaced by other fruit like peaches or even without. The french toast is doused in syrup already, so no need to pour it yourself. It is not like traditional french toast, I do not think made with eggs and no powdered sugar - however this was still very delicious! The breakfast bagel was by far my favorite. The creame cheese or spread was slightly sweet, and complimented the saltiness of the bacon. The carmelized onions hit the spot, definitely holding lots of flavor and was spread into each bite. Would order this again! The espressos definitely woke us up, we felt energized almost immediately after drinking the little cups of coffee. Will need to try their other drinks next time! read more

Unbelievable- I bought breakfast, pastries, drinks that added up to 65 dollars and left a tip. I came back to ask for some butter and was told that I needed to pay 1 dollar for butter. This is NOT good customer service and I was completely thrown off by the male baristas attitude. This bakery is so cool, with a back patio that as really cool vibes. Actually, bakery is a bit of a disservice, since they offer hot food as well as coffee and even some groceries. I may be wrong but I think I saw jams and coffee beans, even cheeses and meats, but please forgive me if I am mistaken places. One thing is for sure: they have nice breads and sweets, plus a cool simple menu to order hot food. This is a more upscale place, with people wearing scarfs and sunglasses, but the prices are good and absolutely worth it. A must visit in the area. read more

So I came in looking for something with eggs. They suggested their egg burrito. I got that and a coffee. They made it fresh. Took a little longer, not a problem. For $18.00 or so, I got a burrito more than a foot long, and easily 2.5 inches in diameter. While I am a big man, this was enough to feed a family of four. It was huge, tasty and hot ( temperature. Like not microwave hot, freshly made hot). I had to eat it all, because I felt it would not be the same later or next day. I will not eat for the rest of the day as this was one fulfilling meal.
