We went around noon on a Saturday, luckily were able to find a spot to sit. This restaurant is very small and narrow, there are about 20 seated places, most of them at the bar. Better to grab and go as the atmosphere is noisy and cramped. We tried the "tit double" double cheeseburger, the chili burger, patty melt and sides of chili fries and "cantine" fries which had queso and big mac style sauce. Food is delicious, greasy, salty, well seasoned and fresh, fast to order and receive. The "tit" short for "petit" (small) double cheeseburger was definitely on the smaller side, for around $8.75 a decent price, but I was expecting something kind of monstrous and decadent by the photos. The burger is smaller than it looks compared to similar places. The fries are perfect for sharing. I noticed in Google reviews some people mentioned the fries were overdone, kind of burnt or crispy. I did notice this as well, however perhaps this is done for a reason. As most of their french fry dishes are covered in sauces, like poutine, chili, or queso, a slighter firmer crisper fry will hold its shape better and won't result in a soggy mess. Ideal for take out as you can still enjoy the texture of the potato minutes later. I would come back to try some of their other smash burgers but taking a star away for the location and comfort factor. There is only street parking, and such limited seating that you can't come in large groups or truly enjoy a sit down experience.

At what I call "The Burger Triangle", where my three of my favourite burgers are around Metro Fabre, Mange dans mon Hood, L'Hamburger and of course Dilallo. Compared to Ville Émart, That location is smaller and looks like more a bistro than a diner. The vibe is chill, 5,6 70s dude where talking to each others, all seated at a different table, a bit loud, but the conversation were funny to listen. You got casino machines in the back, with a few elders on it. I've ordered the classic Buck trio; Cheese, spicy pepper, relish, mustard , onions, tomatoes, lettuce. It supposed to have capicole which is delicious as well, but I got food restrictions, can't eat it this time. I've ordered with the bread wet, but the very young cook was more focused on his cell than his orders. He forgot to wet it, no big deal tho. It was a Tuesday afternoon very warm so we wanted a terasse and that's what we got. Big patio with lots of umbrellas to hid us from this crazy fall weather. We started with the pickles, they were only okay not what I was expecting. I didn't like the Panko and not enough pickle ! My salad fries and burger were good, salad was a mix of sliced onions and cucumbers with a mixed salad in a sweet dressing. Burger was juicy. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the little mayo you get to choose for your fries it tasted like Rene Cesar. Boyfriend got the fried chicken salad, he said it was okay the fried chicken wasn't a good idea apparently lol but when I went to try it, it looked really soggy. Our waitress wasn't very quick but I wasn't in a rush so I didn't care, the place was a nice new spot to check out and I'm glad we did. They added outdoor seating with times. The menu didn't really changed. Some new item appeared but in the end, most of the addition are mostly combination that most people did. For exemple, double cheeseburger extra cheese. This is now a Quattro. I think in the new items are chicken burger chickann, chicken strip and wally burger. They did remove a lot of the sports stuff as a decor. Three used to be a lot of signed stuff but now there's none.

But it's called 'La Pataterie' for a reason. The fries (from potatoes if you follow the name) were easily some of the best I've ever had. And for the price there isn't even competition. Absolutely perfect crispy texture, and pillowy soft in the middle. They taste like they were twice-fried, almost Belgian-style. There is also a nice sweetness to the potato too. Real cheese curds for the poutine and though the gravy wasn't reaching the same heights as the fries, it was still good nonetheless. But to illustrate how good the fries were, my wife and I put in an order for fries alone after we shared a poutine. I can't think of any time or place I've done that before, but the fries were just that good. I only happened to come here since we were returning from the botanical gardens and it came up on a search. It's not necessarily a hidden gem as it's quite popular, but if this was more central, it would almost certainly find itself of 'must visit' lists, and it's probably a good thing that things stay the way they are.
