Definitely will not be shopping at kroger again. It doesn't feel safe. I hoped maybe it was a secret shopper but or even a worker but he had no name tag - no Kroger worker shirt. No Kroger vest. No badge name. He looked at me and he just sat there and I took off. I don't feel comfortable shopping there anymore. Sadly I'm going to have to cancel my membership and go to Walmart. It just doesn't feel safe. Especially since I have children I just can't. The food prices don't beat walmart - not when it comes to safety- and we can forget about ambiance. This was the scariest time in my life I have ever gone shopping.

So, when I went back to the bakery department I first heard loud gossiping while I was looking at the cakes, while looking at the cakes I noticed all the birthday cakes and regular cakes were not cake at all but in fact carboard with icing on top and sprinkles and it had a $20 price on it which was strange and false advertisement. I noticed the white and brown cardboard sticking up out the cakes and the cake was so flat it looked really awkward. I decided to get a big slice of carrot cake that I seen sitting on one of the shelfs and I asked the deli/baker lady who was short, brown skin, stout, medium sized with short hair pulled up, nicely back there did they have any other birthday cakes besides those fake ones, mind you I never told her that I knew they were fake I just asked her did they have other birthday sheet cakes anywhere in the store. She immediately got an attitude like I ruined her gossiping and told me she does not bake the cakes and she told me she don't know anything about cakes and then after I politely told her it's okay and to have a good day she told me to come back in 30 years to get a cake right in front of another male employee and other customers. Because she was an older lady I decided not to even waste my time or energy responding to that harsh comment, but I will say this. KJ's was a decent grocery store so I don't know what's going on but whoever hired that lady either need to have a chat with her about disrespecting paying customers or find another person to work back there instead of her because her attitude was unprofessional and ridiculous. If she don't want to work there that's not my problem.

She was going in the store when she saw how distressed I was, and offered to help.
