If I could give this hell 0 stars I would. Avoid Gail and her harassment at all costs!…read more All this stable is, is a bill payer for her as she sits on her butt all day on her back deck like a spider waiting for a fly. She tries to tell you, you need to use her hay people, sorry their hay looks more like straw. Ours delivered and stacked beautiful green Timothy/Alfalfa hay. Oh and smell the water before you sign! It's horrendous! Smells like rotten eggs it's so full of sulfur. Beware of her contract (get a copy, none of the boarders we spoke to were aware of the "kick you to the curb" clause as they were not given a copy) - it states she has the right to terminate the contract at ANYTIME, for ANY reason. She does NOT have to GIVE you a reason or a reasonable amount of time to find another stable. OH AND she keeps your deposit. All the while expecting you to dig the stalls down to dirt, putting in new dirt, scrubbing the stall walls with Lysol and repainting the stalls and tack box. Seriously? AND you keep the deposit? (You on the other hand are required to give her 30 days notice.) Boarders have been heard complaining about dead rats IN the stalls and where the daily feed is kept. Repairs are shoddy to say the least. Screws left in the stall and on tack boxes within reach of the horses. I even snapped a picture of a live round left on a tack box. Both round pens are falling apart and one has broken metal pieces sticking out of the ground (bet Gail isn't paying that Vet bill). If you use the arena her dog will chase the horse. Not cool Gail (understandable if rumors are true and she's never even owned a horse before but also unforgivable for the ignorance) As you may have figured out we were asked to leave after 5 weeks of constant harassment. My daughter was literally screamed at for feeding her own horses at 5:45pm because someone was on the board to feed all the horses at 6pm (one night they had not been fed until after 9pm, 3 hours late but that was fine). No where does it state you cannot feed your own horse. My daughter WAS given a reason for being asked to leave - "being ungrateful" Say what? Apparently she neglected according to Gail to thank her for the use of a bucket & rusty trash can. What the hell? But she's got you, it's in the contract. I'm still left scratching my head as to why one horse who in the eight years my daughter has owned him has NEVER EVER even been remotely head shy and after 4 weeks of being at Southern Star freaks out if you go any where near his head. Hmmm wonder how that happened???? We're not the only ones, another couple we spoke to was asked to leave and NOT given a reason. It seems if you don't kiss up, you are kicked out. Save your time, sanity, horses' safety, and money, and avoid this place like the plague.

If you are looking for a safe clean loving environment for your beloved pet then look no further…read more This is the place to be. Southern Star Stables is a lovely clean barn. We are a family and as such everyone helps each other. This is a partial boarding facility about 1/4 mile from Helen Howarth Equestrian Center and Pinellas Park is working hard to please the equestrian owners. We feed the horses twice a day and for those who like their horses to have a mid day snack that is also offered. I have gone to the barn at all times due to my schedule and have always felt safe and secure. Gail the barn owner also lives next door to the barn. She is always on her back porch keeping an eye and ear on the place. Dolly her dog also keeps a vigilant eye. We have a wonderful loving barn cat Clyde who is always around. My horse and I are very happy at Southern Star Stables. Gail expects you to care for your horse and she is always available to talk. She keeps the grounds well maintained and has someone there doing the maintenance care of the facility. The horses are well loved and spoiled here at Southern Star Stables. It is true that we don't always ride our horses. Most of us have full time jobs and busy lives. But these horses are our pets. We love them and dote on them. We are horse owners and their safety and care come first. I love it here. Val and I plan on being here for a very long time.

She was just 4 at the time but loved horses and the website for Avalon said lessons start at age 5. I figured I would purchase the deal and use it when she turned 5, boy was I glad I purchased this deal! My daughter turned 5 in the first few weeks of December. We had our first lesson at Avalon just before Christmas. Lonna was my daughter's riding instructor for her first horseback riding lesson. Fun and engaging, Lonna made my daughter feel comfortable on top of the giant horse Evan she was riding. I might mention, my daughter is terrified of heights and Evan is impressively tall. Before riding Evan, my daughter was given the opportunity to groom a different horse with another riding instructor. She was shown how to brush, curry, and comb out the horses coat. She was also shown how to pick up and pick out the horses feet to get them ready to ride. After her first lesson she was hooked on horses and we signed up for a monthly lesson program. The staff, the facilities and the riding instruction is top notch. The Stables are always clean and the grounds are beautiful. The riding staff is trained in beginner to advanced riding techniques. They are welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. We are happy to have found Avalon Stables for our daughter.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with C Ponies, and I can't recommend them enough--especially if you're looking for something unique, meaningful, and truly unforgettable. What makes this experience so special goes far beyond just "riding horses on the beach." These are rescue horses--many of them coming from difficult or neglectful situations--and C Ponies has created something really beautiful by giving them a second chance at life. You can feel how deeply loved and well cared for these horses are. They are healthy, happy, and genuinely seem to enjoy their work. One of the most fascinating parts was learning that the water is actually healing for them. Being in the ocean supports their joints and overall wellness, so this experience isn't just fun for us--it's beneficial for them, too. That alignment made the entire experience feel even more special and ethical. Our guide, Raina, was fantastic. She had the perfect mix of humor (yes, some delightfully corny jokes), warmth, and knowledge. More importantly, you could tell she truly loves these horses and what she does. She made everyone feel comfortable, safe, and engaged the entire time. Walking the horses into the water--and even getting to experience them swimming--was surreal. Each horse had its own personality, which made it even more fun. You could tell they were relaxed, confident, and happy to be there. It didn't feel forced or transactional--it felt like a partnership between humans and animals. Living in Sarasota, it also meant a lot to support a business that is doing such meaningful work in our own SW Florida community. C Ponies is not only creating unforgettable experiences, but they are actively rescuing, rehabilitating, and giving these horses a life filled with purpose and care. If you're on the fence--book it. It's one of those rare experiences that stays with you long after it's over.

Absolutely exceeded our expectations! Raina was an amazing guide, full of tons of information…read moreabout the bay, history of the ponies and nuances of each pony to better assist each rider. Would highly recommend! This is an experience you'll never forget. Thanks to Raina, Coral, Dori and Snooki.
