I called Foremost to see if they had one in stock, which they did, and I visited Foremost not long after , and the owner and his daughter (I believe, nice woman) set me up and made me a happy customer. It's funny that I lived my whole life in Schaumburg but had never really visited until recently. I was on my way to a friend's BBQ and Sportman's was super convenient. I like that I can go there, ask the friendly owners where to find what I'm looking for, get it and get out in under 5 minutes. This is my go-to-pre-party-spot when in the burbs now! I've…read morebeen doing the dirty around these parts for a little over a year now and it wasn't until just a few weeks ago that I finally made the trip in to what looks like some cruddy, run-down, sad-sad, liquor store in a mostly vacant and/or abandoned Palatine strip mall and I was blown away with a selection of sauces that would put a smirk on even a novice boozehound and/or liquor-pig. Shame.On.Me. I'll just say this up front, I don't know jack sh*t about wine. It's not really my thing, and I'm happy just going with whatever bottle has the best artwork and still manages to remain nominally priced. Basically, they might have a great or crappy wine selection, but I couldn't tell you. They had that Barefoot stuff, though... that's the classy one, right? Where this place shines is fo sho its beer selection. It's not huge, but they carry a lot of pretty rare stuff and a bunch of the stuff the other big box booze stores don't have. They do set limits on certain things, like maximum 2 per person on some bottle, but honestly, I'm a sucker for supply and demand so that kind of thing really excites me. Their selection is always changing and they're open later than any of the other bottled booze purveyors in this area. It's probably not a destination place, but if you're within a 12-15 minute range of here, it's worth popping over for a peak at their products.

Sometimes you go into a liquor store and it's just grim, grim, grim, with creepy lighting, dusty shelves, and cashiers that look like they want to die and they wish you were dead too. Mr. A's is the total OPPOSITE. It's clean, has a great selection of alcohol, mixers, and snacks, and yeah, I guess the lighting isn't creepy because I've never really noticed it? I typically just see two employees here, one of whom I think might be the Mr. A! He is extremely warm and friendly and always smiling. The second man is a little more reserved but always very nice and polite. There is this adorable little black dog one of them has, that's kind of the store mascot it seems. There are rather professional looking photos of him/her around the store, greeting customers and making recommendations. I think that's a nice touch. I wish the actual dog could be in the store-how awesome would it be to have a little pooch helping you make a wine selection? Only thing that would make the place better, in my opinion.

Sew Hop'd is located in the building next to the tracks. Maybe there's not as many to choose from, but they make these with better care. There's some pretty unique ones, and at pretty good prices. A small brewery like this has fewer beers. It's the only bad thing that can be said about it. The part that makes up for this is that the beers are great though. It's about $7 a pint. Pretty comparable to other microbreweries like this. Had a few the last time here. Of the ones that we tried, the best was the Take The Stage. It's a session Indian pale ale. There was also a strawberry cheesecake one that I would have tried if it didn't have lactose. Here's another great local brewery to get some cold ones and chill. It's mostly known for the beers, but there's also entertainment such as live music. There's not really any food, but they have tubs of Von Hanson's pretzels, and there's food trucks on weekends.

This Review is on Google and Yelp - Store does not honor online discount codes that are CLEARLY…read morestated as being valid in store The store employee that was behind the counter on the morning of 7/28/2026, refused to honor a "10OFF30" coupon code, that was on the website, and clearly marked as "In Store and online" and, also good for 36 days after downloading, which, I was there 3 days after I downloaded it. I wanted to purchase a $150 bottle of Blanton's Bourbon, and at first, once I showed him the coupon / discount code online, he said "it was a website glitch", to which I advised him, that, the glitch is in the store, and not on the website. I clearly showed him where it said "IN STORE" , and then, he made a phone call and spoke to someone, and after that discussion, he still refused to honor the discount, and, told me he wouldn't sell me the product. I advised him that he lost a customer, and, he also lost whatever markup there was on that sale, and, not a lot of those get sold either, proof being the amount of dust there was on the top of the gift box when he took it down from the behind the counter shelf. My advice is, find another liquor retailer who knows how to honor chain discounts and respect a customer. That code is also still on the top of the webpage ( For New Customers, which I could have been one)
