Located in downtown East Dundee, this Independent Craft Brewery serves great beers! Nice variety of Lagers,IPAs,Stouts,Sours and Ales. I started with their light lager - Bike Path which as described was very light.only 3.7 ABV. My favorite beer was Monkey Wrench..a smooth Vanilla Porter 6 ABV. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating ..no food options that I could see. Can't wait to go back and try a few more of their delicious beers on tap.

Not ready to finish my day but ready to sit down with a beer and crank out a few Yelp reviews, I stopped at Black & Gray at 4pm and stuck around for a few hours. The beers were cold, the seating was comfortable and the wifi worked well. Two of their Bike Path Light were crisp, delicious and enjoyable. [Review 20630 overall - 177 in Illinois - 1611 of 2023.]

I cannot say enough good things about Black and Gray Brewery! I have been a few times and always have had a phenomenal experience between the amazing brews, kindest staff, and immaculate vibes. A few weekends ago, we hosted my brother's 30th birthday at Black and Gray and it was absolutely perfect. As always, the staff went above and beyond to make the experience amazing for the entire party and the drinks were superb too. If you are thinking of visiting Black and Gray, do it. You will not be disappointed but rather will find your new favorite spot for some great beers. Thank you Black and Gray for always being the best of the best! Cannot wait to come back soon.

Great beer selection, extremely knowledgeable and friendly service. Lots of beer selections made on premises. Proudly owned by a firefighter family. A must stop if your into beer and fun times.

Black And Gray is a brewery in East Dundee. It has a pretty good selection after being open a few years and building it. While it may be on the expensive side, it's high quality. Fewer batches are made. They put more care into these. Came recently for a night cap. It was fairly busy but not that much so we could get seats at the bar and try a few. The one I liked the most was Gentleman Joe. It's about $8 a pint for most beers. That's quite a lot. Anyway, this was a good beer. It's an American IPA. This is a pretty strong one too. It doesn't have much food. They only have those bags of Boardwalk Pretzels. It's $6 a bag. The beer is already expensive, so forget about also shelling out for pretzels. Find this in the space that's next to D.C. Cobb's. It's nice to hit one then the other. That's hardly affordable though.

Friendly staff, great patio, & cheaper beers for a brewery. This has become my husband and my go to spot for the summer. Can't wait to sit on the patio all summer.

Always a great experience at Black & Gray. Last night I had the Octoberfest for the first time. Very good. I have tried a few more their brews; I'm partial to the B-Shift Blonde. Really nice atmosphere here. You can bring in food or get something delivered but the brewery makes no food.

Beer was good, music is good. If the bartenders could get off their cell phones and wait on people that would even be better.

Great beer even better staff! You can tell the head brewer takes pride in his beer and delivers a clean product. I was able to sample all of the beers on tap at the time and both represented their style spot on. Everyone that works there is awesome.

This place is EASILY my favorite brewery in IL…read more I have been visiting More Brewing for several years now and I have never once left without being totally pleased with what I drank or ate. The Food They have a very diverse and inclusive menu. We are able to go with adult friends and/or our children and everyone is able to find something that suits them and they always seem to speak very highly of what they ordered. Their Pretzel is amazing, they have some of the best Cheese curds I have ever had, decent pizzas, Huge salads, and plenty of vegetarian options. I would be more than happy with their food even if they didn't have amazing beer. The Beer I have yet to try a beer from More Brewing that I didn't enjoy. Even the styles i typically do not enjoy. I think this speaks volumes to their brewers and the amazing work they are doing. I am an IPA fan and theirs are just better than most I have had. They even released a Malort Collab and it was unbelievable. If you're simply in the market for delicious cold refreshments, they have you covered. Staff I personally have never interacted with anyone that worked here that wasn't very pleasant to interact with. Everyone has a very chill, happy energy. The vibes here are always great and that goes a long way for someone like me. Merch If you're into Brewery swag, they have a cool storefront with excellent quality shirts and glasses. I will say, their glasses do not hold up well to traditional dishwashers so expect to handwash if you don't want lose the decals they apply to their glasses. I already tell everyone I know how much i love this place and how they have to try it, so the obvious next step was to tell the yelp world!

It's the kind of brewery that works equally well for beer enthusiasts and people simply looking for a fun night out. What helps separate it from the pack is the food menu, which leans into creative fusion concepts that are far more ambitious than typical brewery fare. The result is a place that feels thoughtful, modern, and genuinely enjoyable.

I'll try to be short, but want to give a true account of the events. Yesterday I came from the city via Metra late afternoon with another friend to visit a dear friend that moved to Cary a few years ago. Cary is far & we rarely see one another. Needless to say, we were super excited to for this mini-reunion & for our friend to show us a slice of Cary. It was not the best planning being St Paddy's weekend but so be it. We specifically looked for a place we could easily talk & catch up. We started w/ one chocolate martini at Cucina Rustica and chatted OVER an HOUR. Little did we know, we should have stayed there. Next stop, Cary RACIST Ale House. The back area lounge was nearly empty & we were assured it was open (not booked for any events). The waitress, at the start aggressively asked a bunch of questions. I first thought her line of questioning was bizarre so I ignored her while trying to figure out what to order. She asked how we got there, who was driving & specifically said she didn't feel comfortable in serving me. WTF?!?!? My friend politely answered her questions and when she left, we all agreed the waitress's behavior was odd & laughed it off. We refused to have her ruin our evening. To our SHOCK the waitress would NOT serve me?! Only me! Was I disruptive? NO! Was I being violent or doing something illegal? NO! Did I come in stumbling? NO! Was I slumped over passed out? NO! This was crazy! Check your security cameras if you don't believe! Was this a bad twilight zone episode? Was someone going to tell us this was all a joke? I was speechless. We asked her why. She said it was a management decision. What?! Interesting since no one came to talk to us aside from her. We asked her to explain, to get some understanding. You will NOT believe what she said....she said it was my eyes. I looked at my two white friends & asked if something was wrong with my eyes? No, nothing is wrong. WOW, she basically said my Asian eyes were an issue. Falsely claiming I was drunk and couldn't be served because she didn't like Asian-looking eyes?!?! I was stone cold sober ***hole! We were all completely sober & flabbergasted! Completely disgusted, we left. I thought about brushing this aside but I wouldn't want anyone else to be treated that way. I will not allow them to humiliate me. This was supposed to be a happy occasion, and it was spoiled by a bigoted, small-minded person. I don't know how these people can live with themselves.

A short fuse and a close call…read more After Emily and I checked in to our hotel room, we wanted to stretch our legs and see if there was anything nearby for some beer and some food. Turns out, Short Fuse was right up the road and a 5 minute walk got us there. For a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but not dead, so we got seated right away. We ordered some beer and took a look at the menu. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them. It sucks to see a small business close but they did say they may try to open up a new place in a new location in the future.
