We stayed at some very nice hotels. Hassler Roma tops that list. Location is awesome. A short taxi ride to all the major sites. The hotel is beautiful. Our balcony room over looking the Spanish Steps was perfect. The thick glass windows and doors kept outroom peacefully quite. What made this hotel stand out was the staff. They absolutely should teach a master class on hospitality. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Lastly, the food was delicious. A perfect stay! read more

Beautiful, classy and such a perfect location. We will most definitely come back to this hotel when visiting Rome next time. The Hassler is the most exquisite hotel! I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed everything about it! The location is incredible- at the top of the Piazza Spagna, has great views of the city, fabulous bar, all of the staff were incredible! During my stay, there was a Taxi strike and impossible to get around the city. The concierge was so gracious and arranged for transportation for our friends who were staying at the hotel across the street who was unable to get a car to the airport. The hotel staff caters to your every need, and really give that extra service with a smile to ensure that I had a memorable stay. I expected a 5 star experience and I received it! I'm very happy with The Hassler and look forward to staying there on my next visit to Rome! read more

Right at the top of the Spanish steps! Don't worry though because they have complementary taxi service to the bottom if you are unable to do stairs. So close to everything. Walked everywhere from this location! The complementary breakfast bar was incredible and danced from pastries to warm eggs and sausage, fresh fruits, yogurt, basically everything I needed to get me ready to explore the city from this beautiful location. Hassler Hotel is a beautiful and elegant hotel, positioned right at the top of the Spanish Steps and is an exceptional location right beside the Piazza di Spagna, which is crowded with tourists most of the time. My room was a gorgeous room with large windows with a view to Spanish Steps which was great in the morning when it was still quite. The room had a coffee machine and a tea pot with a great selection of coffee and tea! Despite the price this is a must stay hotel in Rome! It is truly a beautiful sight! This hotel also has a spa which I got a chance to visit with friendly stuff. The spa also has a gym. Both the spa and the gym are clean and tidy. The only reason why I do not give this hotel full five stars is because of the front desk clerk who made it very hard to check in into the hotel and even harder to check out of the hotel, he made it so hard to for us that we missed our plane. read more

On our trip to Italy last December with my best friend, we stumbled upon this hotel on our way to the Spanish Steps. WOW. This hotel is luxurious! Beautiful....just beautiful. We had some drinks in the lobby bar and were treated like queens. The customer service was phenomenal. The drinks were delicious and so were the nuts they brought out. Not much better than this. Perfect location at the top of the Spanish Steps. While pricey, it is noticeably a step above many of the better hotels. Rooms are decorated with a modern flair but with traditional styling. Service is top shelf, foods are great fresh tasting and the place overall is very inviting. My family and I stayed at the Hassler and her sister hotel, Il Palazzetto, and it was a wonderful experience. Right on the Spanish steps, the hotel itself is beautiful. I enjoyed just walking around and talking with those working at the front desk, they are the best to go to for any information. The service was amazing and made my and my family feel very comfortable. A must see is the patio on the seventh floor and a must eat is the carbonara at the restaurant downstairs. read more

Continuing with the salty notes, I ordered the Amatriciana style mezzi rigatoni pasta, which was prepared with fresh tomato sauce, and crisped pancetta. Perfect dish to follow my appetizers, and the ridged pasta held the sauce excellently. I enjoyed grilled to perfection fillet of seabass, fresh from the Italian coast. The complimenting grilled vegetables, were ripe, flavorful and cooked to the right temperature, leaving them just right - a little crisp with each bite, but tender enough to enjoy the smoky grilled flavor. As dessert was placed in front of me, I took in the scents of the spicy cinnamon from the warm apple strudel cylinder with cinnamon ice cream. My husband and I stayed here during Spring break and it was wonderful. This hotel made our entire trip, and I have to say that the local Italians were very rude to us working in restaurants, stores and even taxi drivers. The Hassler staff made up for all the trauma and humiliation we experienced in town. The food at the restaurant was top notch including drinks at the bar. Yes, this place is pricey but you can't compare the food or experience to anywhere else in town. I wish the hotels in the US were up to standard and excellence as this hotel. I wouldn't travel outside of the US if I could stay at a hotel similar to the Hassler. Every staff member remembered our names and treated us like family. I already miss the Hassler!!!! You have to experience this type of stay at least once in your life. The location is right on top of the Spanish steps and close to all of the high end shops. My only complaint was that we had to walk up the steps to get to the hotel. This can be difficult even for a fit person, but we managed to take many breaks in between steps. The high-end shops did require masks and vaccination cards to enter. There is also a McDonalds close by if you miss home, which was nice to have late at night. This hotel winds down early and so does the rest of the area. The shops close at 7 PM. I would recommend to organize your own transportation like a driver, the taxi drivers would require cash and would not give us correct change (tip themselves). I would also recommend to start learning Italian if you want to visit around town. It was very difficult to communicate and they are not willing to help you. We even tried to use the translator app, but people refused to talk and translate. Everyone at the Hassler spoke English. I also loved the fact that the Hassler changed our dollars to euros. I won't return to Italy anytime soon, but will be researching other Hassler hotel locations. read more

Had lunch at the Hassler today while visiting Rome. My wife's uncle married a Filipino woman and they live just outside the city. We had them, their teen son, teen daughter and a female cousin join us. Well as an American of the 21st century, I was shocked by what I can only call racism. The young, tall male server was unsubtlely acting disgusted at waiting on our group, though we were polite and quiet. The pretty young female waitress was cold and inattentive. How do I know? Well my wife and I ate at the Hassler 2 days prior, waited on by the same staff, and they behaved completely different. Today, order taking was rude. Drinks were not refilled. Wait staff was basically absent during our second visit while they were impecable during the first. Some of our group ordered second courses while others did not. The waiters cleared the plates of the single dish eaters even before the others received their second courses. Food was still on the plates and we were not even asked if we were finished. Water was slammed onto the table and we were left to pour our own glasses, unlike our first visit where attentive waiters kept us topped off. Maybe it's embarrassing for a fine Italian restaurant to have a race of people dining there who are preceived as of the 'servant class'. I hope that wasn't what motivated our poor service because to me, that type of bigotry has no place in a first world country. After I complained very loudly that no Italian restaurant I had ever been to was ever so rude, an older waiter, bopefully the manager, came over to smooth things over. He was very kind, chit chatted us up and assured us we were not being rushed to leave. In spite of his kindness, I was disappointed and will bring this up with the manager at the New York location the next time I'm in town. I have no desire to deal with the knuckle dragger in Rome who would hire waiters like that. read more

I came here for a drink to get out of the heat, as I was early meeting some friends. We ordered 2 cappuccinos and the manager was very kind, and we began chatting and he said " I will get something sweet for the lady", he came back with some homemade fresh cream cakes for me! They were 4 little ones, and he provided them for free, even though he knew I wasn't staying at the hotel. I enjoyed sampling them, they were home made and delicious. This place is amazing. PRICEY!! But still.. Amazing. Is been touring the Spanish steps area for what seemed like hours... My back hurt.. I must've been amongst 100 million other tourists roaming around when my guy suddenly pulls me into the Hassler for a much needed cocktail. I walked through the doors and felt like I was in a completely alternate universe! Through the lavishly decorated lobby is a serene little courtyard/bar area. The drinks were stiff, the service was splendid. We were well attended to -- must've came in at a good time... We had the whole bar to ourselves. When in Rome... Definitely drop by the Hassler for a "pinkies-up" & toitty afternoon cocktail. read more

The epitome of glamor in a beautiful old setting. Jeff M. and I came here for an after-dinner drink on a warm August night. The indoor lounge looked a little stuffy but we kept heading back and ended up in the courtyard out back, which was lovely. The style of the bar itself feels out of place and too modern for the otherwise stately old surroundings, but no matter. Our server was very attentive, we were brought aperitivos that we were too full to eat, and we enjoyed being fancy at this beautiful hotel. read more

Beautifully renovated to give a nod to tradition while accepting modern luxury, this place wants for nothing. The bar staff in the "oh so tiny and sexy" bar is fantastic. You might even encounter the eccentric owner of the hotel there.... just dont scream to get his attention. Best location in the city... if you love the city. Overall Hotel Hassler lobby& views impressive, but the" Front Desk" leaves less to be desired. You would think staying in a super luxury hotel they would greet you with a kind warm smile and not a" cold, very snobby" answer when your asking questions regarding your stay. The concierge and people within the hotel surroundings were Very informative and polite.... but sadly the" Front desk" needs MAJOR guest relation lessons and training in how to greet guests. Only one young man who was at the front seemed helpful but only to look at his higher up for an answer. My room was VERY HOT every night I even asked for a fan which they did not have to accommodate me. They never followed up or cared regarding our stay.!! One of the staff members came to room and said for us to leave our door to the room open and open window for cross ventilation." I thought to myself please tell me he's joking," but no he was very serious. First time in Europe and newly wed, what a disappointment!! However so happy to see the sites in Rome, but do not ever have intention to stay at this hotel. My family is from Italy and I'm proud of that, but sadly I could not tell them it was a great experience. My final destination was Greece and I was greeted kindly & Staff was professional in a beautiful luxury hotel on the water. At least my trip ended there on a positive feeling. Hotel Hassler was the last leg of my honeymoon. We had just finished a week in the Serengeti and were looking forward to relaxing, eating some great food and taking in the historic city. We booked three nights at Hotel Hassler. The location is amazing as it sits on top of the Spanish Steps and my wife and I enjoyed our time in the city until the last night. After dinner we headed back to hotel to wash up and pack for our trip back to Los Angeles. As I went to brush my teeth I noticed that my tooth brush looked dark and discolored. I grabbed my toothbrush and felt the bristles and noticed that it was extremely hard and crusted. I knew something was off and smelled the toothbrush. The toothbrush smelled like FECES!! I immediately went downstairs with the toothbrush and alerted the Andrea Disippio at the front desk. Andrea smelled the toothbrush and acknowledged that the toothbrush was compromised. He apologized and promised a full investigation and offer replacement toothbrushes. I have never in years of travel had such and experience like this. It was repulsive and quite frankly made both me and my wife sick to our stomachs. Our immediate thoughts were to wonder if we had been brushing with soiled toothbrushes or using dirty cups in our room. After taking a moment to take in what had just happened we requested that we change rooms. Andrea was quick to accommodate. However they ended up putting us into a older non updated room. At that point my wife and I were beat and had a flight to catch in a few hours so took the room and went to bed. The next morning we checked out and were told that there would be a full investigation and that the owner Roberto Wirth would like for us to email him with and explanation of what had happened. I emailed Roberto. I have received a response from his secretary that the email was received. They had promised that they would find the person responsible as they had a record of who entered the room however nothing, no apology. You would think the hotel would be extremely apologetic and do something to right this wrong. But they just don't care. I can promise those reading this review that we as a couple did nothing to provoke such an action. We are an Asian American professional couple in our thirties. We left the room clean every day and spend most of our time out in the city and were polite to the hotel staff. I am extremely disappointed with the way that this incident was handled. I am assuming that no action was taken and the person who soiled my toothbrush is still working at Hotel Hassler. It is quite sad our honeymoon ended on a note like this. Unless you are okay with hotel staff soiling your toothbrushes and management that just does not care if they do. I would not stay at Hotel Hassler. read more

Sadly, we only stayed here one night, but it was fantastic! We stayed in room 621 which was beautifully decorated with detailed ceilings, old world charm, wonderfully bright, modern bathrooms and a great view. The hotel staff was so helpful, professional, welcoming and friendly. They really made us feel at home for our short visit. The hotel is nicely located just atop the Spanish Steps. Just go down these famous steps and you're in the heart of Rome! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it. Viva Roma! read more

I recently spent several weeks in this city and upon my return to the US feel compelled to heap accolades on the entire staff including housekeeping and restaurant.
