The Hassler is the most exquisite hotel! I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed everything about it! The location is incredible- at the top of the Piazza Spagna, has great views of the city, fabulous bar, all of the staff were incredible! During my stay, there was a Taxi strike and impossible to get around the city. The concierge was so gracious and arranged for transportation for our friends who were staying at the hotel across the street who was unable to get a car to the airport. The hotel staff caters to your every need, and really give that extra service with a smile to ensure that I had a memorable stay. I expected a 5 star experience and I received it! I'm very happy with The Hassler and look forward to staying there on my next visit to Rome!

This was the view from my hotel room. It was incredible.

Right at the top of the Spanish steps! Don't worry though because they have complementary taxi service to the bottom if you are unable to do stairs. So close to everything. Walked everywhere from this location! The complementary breakfast bar was incredible and danced from pastries to warm eggs and sausage, fresh fruits, yogurt, basically everything I needed to get me ready to explore the city from this beautiful location. I mean seriously you cannot beat the view.

Hassler Hotel is a beautiful and elegant hotel, positioned right at the top of the Spanish Steps and is an exceptional location right beside the Piazza di Spagna, which is crowded with tourists most of the time. My room was a gorgeous room with large windows with a view to Spanish Steps which was great in the morning when it was still quite. The room had a coffee machine and a tea pot with a great selection of coffee and tea! Despite the price this is a must stay hotel in Rome! It is truly a beautiful sight! This hotel also has a spa which I got a chance to visit with friendly stuff. The spa also has a gym. Both the spa and the gym are clean and tidy. The only reason why I do not give this hotel full five stars is because of the front desk clerk who made it very hard to check in into the hotel and even harder to check out of the hotel, he made it so hard to for us that we missed our plane.

My family and I stayed at the Hassler and her sister hotel, Il Palazzetto, and it was a wonderful experience. Right on the Spanish steps, the hotel itself is beautiful. I enjoyed just walking around and talking with those working at the front desk, they are the best to go to for any information. The service was amazing and made my and my family feel very comfortable. A must see is the patio on the seventh floor and a must eat is the carbonara at the restaurant downstairs.

Looking for fine dining in a refined, classy environment that caters to locals and visitors alike? Salone Eva at Hotel Hassler has got you covered, no matter what time of day. Relax with snacks after a show, or enjoy live piano music in the evening, or indulge in a gourmet breakfast or afternoon tea. Whatever you fancy, Salone Eva provides. The restaurant is designed to look like a salon, with tall bookshelves lining the walls, and dark wood accents. The décor is unique - not kitschy or tacky, but like dining in an upscale lounge with the town elite. The yellow and muted red florals add a richness to the room, and despite having high ceilings, the room felt intimate and warm. The server delivered my order of burrata cheese, anchovies and croutons promptly, which was a great way to perk up my taste buds. My starter of artichoke "frittata", served with a mixed salad and salty ricotta cheese was delicious. The bitter flavor of fresh salad greens was a perfect accompaniment to the salty, creamy ricotta. Continuing with the salty notes, I ordered the Amatriciana style mezzi rigatoni pasta, which was prepared with fresh tomato sauce, and crisped pancetta. Perfect dish to follow my appetizers, and the ridged pasta held the sauce excellently. I enjoyed grilled to perfection fillet of seabass, fresh from the Italian coast. The complimenting grilled vegetables, were ripe, flavorful and cooked to the right temperature, leaving them just right - a little crisp with each bite, but tender enough to enjoy the smoky grilled flavor. As dessert was placed in front of me, I took in the scents of the spicy cinnamon from the warm apple strudel cylinder with cinnamon ice cream. Tender apples in a flaky crust with the refreshing cream - a home-style ending to a delicious lunch! Highly recommend Salone Eva.

If you are wanting to stay at a full-service, Hilton branded hotel property while in Rome without…read moregoing bankrupt doing so, The Doubletree Hotel by Hilton Rome Monti would be a solid choice. By Rome standards for a full-service hotel, it would be considered affordable by many. But just to be clear, it is not ultra-inexpensive. For the money, it is firmly in the 4-star hotel genre (getting a 5-star Yelp rating from me within this category because I could find nothing wrong with it during my stay). So, while it may not have crystal chandeliers and butlers running around, it is definitely not a student tourist level hostel. It has modern, comfortable public spaces, elevators that hold more than 2 people at a time, a restaurant with a good breakfast spread, and well-appointed guest rooms with modern amenities and AC. I really don't need more than that when I am traveling solo for business so it was perfect for me given that set of circumstances. As a comparison, I have stayed at a 5-star Rome hotel which was absolutely a step up in terms of service, luxury features, and a sense of a personal attention. But when I am alone on business, that level of service is not necessary and can feel uncomfortable to me. There are plenty of cafe's and restaurants within a 10 min walk and it is a reasonable walk to attractions such as the Opera House, the Coliseum, and the Trevi Fountain. It is also a 10-minute walk to the main terminal Rome train station and the cool, local Nuovo Mercato Esquilino if you are into that type of thing like I am. I spent early mornings walking somewhere for coffee and then through the Mercato to watch the vendors work to ready their produce and meat to be pawed over by early restauranteurs which was a cool look at the underbelly life of this great city. I really liked that this hotel is not right up against the busy street and, on at least 2 sides of the building, there are streets that are not constantly jammed with the noise of traffic. My room fronted one of the quiet sides. It is unclear to me if I was upgraded to a nicer than standard room location because of my Hilton loyalty status but I had a very quiet stay in a room that was impeccably clean and could be easily darked out during the day if I needed a restorative nap for my jet lag. The gym was reasonably appointed and open 24/7 and the wi-fi speed was top notch. I had a great stay here for the money. Based on all of this, when in Rome in the future as a solo business traveler, I would be very happy to stay here again.

That made the location extremely convenient. The hotel sits a short walk from Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Pope Francis is buried. Some areas near the main train station are often described as unsafe by Italian standards. We did not experience that near the hotel. Tourists and locals were out late, and the neighborhood stayed active into the evening. Rome is compact and easy to navigate. Most major attractions felt reachable within about 20 minutes by taxi, bus, or rail. We tried to visit the Trevi Fountain at 10:00 pm to avoid crowds. That plan failed completely(see pic). It was packed. Locals eat later than in the U.S., and many parts of the city stay busy well into the night. Restaurants remain open late. A note for U.S. travelers. European hotel rooms run smaller for the price. Even using Hilton points, our room would have cost close to $700 per night USD and felt small. The hotel offers a pleasant rooftop bar and a spacious lobby with multiple seating areas. The buffet breakfast was a solid, comfortable way to start the day. It was included for us as Hilton Diamond members. I am unsure of the cash price. Overall, the location and amenities make this a smart pre-cruise choice, especially for travelers relying on rail connections.

The hotel is a beautiful structure and while a bit dated in some areas the overall appearance is very good and old world like I expected. Our room was very nice though there was no place to sit and read as the only chair was at a desk and another side chair that was not practical for reading. I would recommend they consider that. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I ever experienced in all my years of traveling with so many options you cannot possibly try them all. The omelette chef was so accommodating and friendly. We had lunch there the day we arrived, breakfast each day and even decided to dine there for dinner one night instead of going out. All the servers went above and beyond for us and made us feel so welcome. They have live music that is very classy and works great for the environment of the hotel. We saw several different duos for evening and breakfast services. We spent three nights in this hotel before we boarded our cruise ship and really enjoyed every minute there. I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Rome.

We were able to walk to great shopping, restaurants and sites, including the colosseum and Trevi fountain. Clean accommodations and friendly staff. With jet lag, our sleep schedule was sporadic. Pro tip: Ironing boards/iron not in room and must be requested via Front Desk. However, you can have up to TWO items pressed daily Free. I deducted one star because our bed was lumpy - time to switch out the mattress! And be sure to request a room on floors 1-3. The fourth floor is right below the gym and very noisy during gym hours.

However, it is quietly nestled in a beautiful little neighborhood. It is very quiet and quaint. Upon arrival we were greeted with the welcoming staff and escorted into the ruins beyond the lobby where we were brought a lovely tiramisu welcome treat to enjoy while taking in the ruins. The room is impressively large with a huge bathroom. We had a plush king sized bed with cozy down bedding. The thick beautiful curtains ensured that the room was perfectly dark for great sleep even if we wanted a mid day nap. There was a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard. With the curtains open the natural light is perfect. The bed was comfortable and we Sisto very nicely here. The bathroom is very big with a walk in shower and bidet with all toiletries needed to have a comfortable stay. I will say I was a bit bummed that the tile warmer was not functional but the hotel was very kind offering anything to make sure that we were happy. This was not a problem and we stayed in this room as warming towels us a perk but not a requirement. I would also note that the building is quite old and the bathroom had a metallic smell perhaps from the pipes of older plumbing but it was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. I think the hotel was really concerned that we were upset but we absolutely were not just keep in mind this building is antique and if you are coming from the US where everything is new and not used to a potential aroma of antiquity be prepared to experience a true European city and do not complain.
