When needing to lay a new driveway we got bids from 3 different companies. All had different suggestions/ideas, and of course, prices. We felt like Hastings best understood our needs and they also happened to be the lowest quote. Shortly after signing our contract with them we were notified of some work by the Village of Fontana that would directly affect our project. The owner, Russ, worked with us, our neighbors (who had an adjoining driveway), and the Village of Fontana to reach an agreement that truly worked for all parties. It was a very long delay on the part of the Village but Hastings kept in contact with us, provided updates on timing, etc. We couldn't be more pleased with the job they did and recommend them wholeheartedly. read more

Our driveway drained better before Hastings replaced the driveway. I've had multiple people look at the driveway and can't believe a company would do such poor work. I had the owner come out twice to explain the huge puddles across the whole driveway. We even paid a extra $1751.00 to have it thicker to prevent problems. We didn't park on the driveway for two weeks after installed. The driveway had puddles since the first rain. I would never use Hastings again. read more

This company's driveway sealcoating was the worst sealcoating I have had in 20 years. When they arrived they wouldn't start the work until I paid them in full. Once paid they applied the sealcoating they left without a word or offer me the opportunity to comment on their work. They did nothing to deal cracks and after a few days I noticed splits and separations in the sealcoating they applied. Not only was the product, service and follow up lousy it was also the most I have ever paid for a sealcoating. Avoid these crooks or it will cost you way more to fix the problems they created by their lousy product and service. read more

Having had a couple of years to evaluate the driveway Hasting installed I conclude 2 things: 1) Its a very pretty driveway. 2) It was NOT paved per my specification. I had only one requirement - that the driveway edge where it met the garage floor MUST be below the garage level to prevent water from seeking the low spot, which would be inside my garage if not done correct. As they paved I reminded the crew chief of this requirement, whose English skills may not have been adequate to understand what I was telling him as it was not his native language. I communicated to the crew chief the contract stated the asphalt MUST be lower than the garage floor when paved to prevent water seeping into the garage. However, they paved it about one quarter inch ABOVE the garage floor which, due to gravity, had the water running into the garage. Since Hastings would not fix it in the fall that left the problem throughout the winter and into the spring. They did come out in spring and lower the asphalt as it met my garage concrete. However, and since that a requirement added to the contract, it should have been done right on paving day to avoid problems. If all you want is a cosmetic driveway that looks pretty then hire Hastings. But if you want it done right, as you are paying for, choose someone else. I wish I had. I believe any consumer shelling out thousands of dollars deserves to get what they pay for. read more

Had a date set and confirmed but they never showed up. No call. No nothing. Finally called them and they denied getting my prior days confirming call. Gave them exact time of call and 12 minute duration. Office manager said they can't tell who could have taken call .??? Didn't seem to care that a customer was blown off because their person didn't notate call. Keep saying it didn't matter who made the mistake?? Very poor service attitude from office manager. Told best could do was to reschedule in the future. Lots of sorries but no action. Asked to have owner call told they would but next call was from office manager again. Sounds like a cover up for bad service. I contract with another sealer at a much lower price. Would not recommend them due to poor controls and dismissive attitude. read more

Our driveway is beautiful, Peterson poured the original driveway in some areas it was not even 1 inch thick. I see Hastings signs all over the county and further. Just wanted to pass along what a great job Hastings Asphalt did sealcoating my driveway. I had them sealcoat the driveway a couple weeks ago. The two guys showed up first thing in the morning did a very good job. However, rain clouds popped in later in the day and washed away some of the undried material. I called the office and she was very understanding. Without question, she set up another day to redo it. The guy that came the second time was outstanding. He filled everything in quickly and with quality. I am VERY SATISFIED with Hastings Asphalt and how they treated us. Both office ladies and all three guys doing the sealcoating did a great Job! read more
