When it came time to leave Salem's picturesque McIntire district, it was obvious that I would move to a modern Halstead Salem Station apartment! There are no regrets! The riverside / parkside environment is relaxing, and very close to Salem's shops and museum. A 5 minute walk to Swampscott, Boston and New York bound trains. More importantly, Halstead is also walking distance to relaxing Salem Harbor, Willow's Park, Winter Island, and a short drive to Beverly's Dane Street Beach, and the beautiful beaches of the Cape Ann oceanfront . The Halstead apartments are modern, well equipped and spacious, with much storage space. Most importantly, is the absolutely excellent management staff at Halstead (Jennifer, Brian and Kayla) are more like family, very competent, and always ready to assist. Oh yes, did I mention the facilities of Building 1, extensive indoor exercise areas, meeting rooms and entertainment / social places - including a magnificent roof deck with all required facilities for a relaxing summer gathering of family and friends." I have had a black fly infestation that keeps getting covered up, with no real solution to why they keep coming in my window. Ive asked for a plan to solve this multiple times, and no response. I clean flys daily near my window, couch and floor. This is not the maintenance guys fault, this is a bigger issue that management is ignoring. Previous manager Jenn had heart, she cared about her residents and respected us, in knowing this is our home and not just a business. Jenn and the maintenance personnel left, and are now working for a new property. We were never notified by upper management of a plan to cover the transition. Quite frankly if I owned this place I would want to know this information, "E" (upper management) should have taken a major role in making sure we were ok, and should be held to a standard of answering her emails so people don't feel ignored. I wonder if they would want to live with black flys in their living space? Or have emails go unanswered? The new property manager also does not answer her emails, and seems to have closed door policy. New staff are not welcoming, almost seem annoyed when you need something. This place felt like home before, now it is most definitely not somewhere I will be staying long term.

I appeared at the property for a scheduled move-in orientation at 10:00 AM and was told, only after I arrived, that my application had not been approved and that the orientation had been canceled. No one notified me before the appointment. The issue is not that additional review was required. The issue is that the property allowed me to show up for an orientation that could not take place and failed to communicate that fact in advance. As a professional and business owner, I value clear communication and respect for people's time. Unfortunately, I experienced neither. Based on my experience, prospective residents should make sure they have written confirmation of final approval before rearranging their schedules or making plans based on information provided by the leasing office.

All interactions that I have had with the buildings management staff has been pleasant, professional and accommodating. On the rare occasion I need a service call, it is answered promptly by experienced personal who resolve the matter quickly and efficiently. As a mom I know how difficult it can be finding lead free and dog friendly apartments in this area. CRL is the answer for families with pets as well as many working professionals because of its prime location. There is a trail a few steps from here perfect for dog walking or just to relax. Hope to see many new friends at the pool next summer.

The units are new, with new appliances and great natural lighting from floor-to-ceiling windows. There are a number of retail stores and restaurants on-site, as well as a move theatre! The amenities overall are very nice and comfortable; including a large fitness center with new equipment, TVs, and other "fun/recreational" areas where one can simply relax or engage in activities/games. There are also large and small office/conference rooms allowing remote work that is closed off from the recreational areas and privacy as needed. Overall, my experience has been awesome...from the walk-thru and move-in. While I never expect all things to go according to plan, the ladies in Sales/Marketing have been awesome! The equipment is Technogym brand which is one of the cheapest and lowest quality brands of fitness equipment on the market, likely purchased by a general facilities manager with little knowledge of fitness and safety standards. The money could have been much better spent. Property is generally well maintained with ample parking.

Every part of the building is always clean, the communial areas are spacious and add an extra level of comfort when I'm looking to unwind after a long work day. The pool, rooftop deck, and main courtyard all have multiple grills. My family and friends are obsessed and have all shared positive thoughts about the building. But by far, the leasing team go above and beyond in their service. Andres and the team are always professional and are understanding of any questions or concerns. Anyone can purchase new equipment, but maintaining the equipment is the key. Most people will be lucky to see appreciation in this building. We need people who are experienced in running a condo board, know how to set goals and objectives,monitor those things and not be afraid to think outside the box. I spent $400,000,contributed almost $200,000 in fees and would be lucky to get it back. If we spent as much time figuring out the issues and less time forming photography clubs and worrying about street lights, we would begin to right the ship.
