DO NOT rent from this place. From the moment I moved in, there have been so many issues. Our dishwasher broke, we've had constant stomping from the tenants above ours, there is dog poop all over the grounds and dog park (which is hardly maintained by the property management), power outages lead side doors of the building to be locked for days at a time....i could go on and on listing off issues. This building is hardly maintained and the shotty/cheap construction breaks or malfunctions all the time. Most recently my shower wouldn't shut off and when I called emergency maintenance a worker came who didn't know how to fix the issue. He left the water running instead of fixing it and had to call his someone to walk him through every step!!!! Who are these so called "handymen" hired by Bozzuto?! Every time we complain to property management we are met with incompetence, finger pointing, and an inability to take accountability/fix issues. Ed Welsh is terrible at his job. read more

Decent property, and overall well managed. However, they keep closing the gym with no explanation except the old "we are looking after your health and safety" line. If you want to keep residents healthy, then keep the gym open and let people practice social distancing. Also, don't forget that we are paying for this gym through our condo fees, so either open the gym, or refund a portion of the fees. read more

BIG disappointment for a lot of money! Let's see. $60 to clean up my own dog poop every month. She is only 10 pounds. My waste water is almost double my water bill because I guess it is divided up by the community. The delivery charge for my gas is more than my bill! I can hear EVERY SINGLE FOOTSTEP the neighbor does upstairs! It's is obnoxious! I complained, nothing changed. Ppl need to walk around in their place, it was obviously poorly built. I had weird smells that would come from the walls that would stink so bad. Not sure what it was, it happened around 20 times. Lasted for hours. The dishwasher and washer machine suck! I have to basically wash all the dishes by hand. The washer can't even get fabric softener to mix. The only positive thing out of this was the staff. They are very nice. Talk about rude! Ask a few questions of the leasing agent that they don't like and watch how upset they get! You would think they were leasing the Taj Mahal! From what I understand they build quality is cheap at best. Lots of unanswered noise complaints. Cheap materials used. And, high rents. Mostly, just rude nasty people. Awesome location! Ok amenities, but overpriced and in decline. We lived there for several years and just moved to save $800 per month. Until this past year the annual rent increases were ridiculous but I needed to have a short commute to Logan for frequent work related travel. Since moving in we have noticed the community was gung ho on promoting the place as doggy heaven and it is overrun with the impact. No where as clean or well maintained as it was a few years ago. Amenities are pretty standard for any newer complex. Could not get anyone to put shades in the gym to block the blinding sun at certain times. The entrance is grand and the function room is nice but you don't live in those areas so how much value should you place on that. Overall it was a good place to live for the time we were there but there are better options available today. read more

I have been at The Mews for the past year. The staff was very friendly showing the apartment complex and amenities, however once the lease was signed, their attentiveness and care seemed to disappear. They are very unresponsive to emails and are often out of the office for long periods of time, so it is hard to contact them. There was an issue with our bill one month (they overcharged) and it took several weeks and emails with the finance person to get it resolved and even understand the issue; but when we owe them money they hound you until you pay up. The amenities are great. New gym, gaming room, and lounge/bar area. However, for some reason, they lock these areas at 10 pm and, even with a key fob, you cannot enter. You need a key to enter them at all times, so I'm not sure why they set 10 pm as the cutoff. The facilities people are very nice and if you need something fixed, it is much quicker to simply ask them in the hallways than go through the front office. As mentioned in other reviews, noise is a bit of an issue. The main problem is that the building materials are very poor, particularly the windows. They do no insulate much sound from the outside so even if someone is speaking in a normal voice outside, you can hear them pretty clearly. I can't speak to the previous post about the office closing early other than I am surprised. I have worked in property management in the past and Bozzuto has quite a good reputation. As for the Watertown Mews and it's staff, as a resident, I can tell you that it's been a great experience thus far. I am not saying pass judgement, if you had a bad experience like the one posted previously, it's going to effect your decision understandably so. That being said, it could have been a bad day for the said employee, maybe they had a personal emergency to deal with or something of the sort but it shouldn't be grounds to dismiss the buildings potential as a home. From the bocce court to the pool and everything in between, The Mews is a haven for social interaction and upscale living. I have had the pleasure of meeting many other residents who share my feelings of what the Mews offers. Last week I had a package delivered to the office and I was not sure I would make it back in time from work.I called and one of the girls in the office delivered the package to my apartment upon my request over the phone -- that is not in there job description and was an example of going the extra step. I would strongly recommend that anyone in the market looking for a new apartment in the area tours the Mews -- you'll love it! read more

We really like living here! It really often feels like resort-style living, especially in the summer. The pool is great (a bit cold at times, but if you ask maintenance they can make it warmer and it is so awesome); they have free yoga classes 3 times per week which has been a highlight for me; they have a grill area that is super nice; the business center is also very useful; and last but not least, Russo's market is right across the street :) I haven't dealt with the new office staff too much, the previous staff was not great. We had a lot of issues with noise from the apartment above, and it was very very hard to get these issues resolved. I would say that the community could improve the following: 1. Having a restroom in the grill area (you have to go up to the apartment or go to the main building) 2. Allowing 24 hour access to common areas (right now they close at 10 pm) 3. Having more / better signs for the buildings, there are no signs that indicate where each building is and people always struggle coming here for the first time. All in all, we really love living here! Our only problem and why we wouldn't stay here much longer is the high rent prices. Our first year living here, we got a special, so it made it much more manageable, but starting on yr 2, the special was over and rent increased and it is now pretty expensive. read more

Watertown Mews is an amazing community to live in! We moved a little over a year ago and could not be happier! The staff are so kind and receptive. If any problems arise they are always addressed immediately. In addition they truly care about the community living in the building. Constantly, there are varying activities to bring the community together. Recently I had an accident and upon hearing of this a lovely gift basket was made by the leasing office to help put a smile on my face. The rent is competitive with the surrounding area, but agreeable, especially given the numerous outdoor parking. Garage parking is also available. The complex also has a small area for the dogs in the building outdoors. The complex is in a lovely area with numerous shopping capabilities, restaurants, bars, and the river trail just in front of the building. I have lived in many cities and moved through quite a few apartment complexes and I have never experienced the type of care Watertown Mews shows for their patrons. My partner and I feel very lucky to be living in this apartment complex. We highly recommend this property! read more

My fiancé and I transitioned to Watertown Mews about 3 months ago from another Bozzuto property and my experience thus far has been great! The office staff has been very helpful and knowledgable and the few maintenance issues have been handled quickly (Will, I think? He takes great pride in the community!) I was intimidated moving closer to Boston for work, but the staff made the transition easier and provided great information on the area. The commute is much more manageable now. Moody st. is great for nightlife/restaurants (try Solea!) and the amazing Russo's farmers market is right across the street. Score. The apartments are finished much nicer than the surrounding communities we viewed, and tucked away from the street, I feel like I have some breathing room away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Amenities are an extension of the apartment and great for entertaining. 5 stars so far. read more

The building is beautiful, located perfectly near public transportation, across from Russos Market in Watertown. Amenities are fantastic but what really sticks out about the Mews is the staff. Kristin in the office is phenomenal and really takes her job personally to make sure I as a resident am happy in my home and my neighbors feel the same way about her. Any requests I have made have been addressed within minutes. Maintenance team is awesome as well. Jimmy is professional, understanding and when I submit a request through the portal it is addressed immediately and updated until complete. I could not be happier about living in the Mews. Obviously rent is high, but it is because we pretty much live in a hotel 8 miles from downtown Boston. Trash concierge, gym, pool, parking.....can't beat this place. read more

I spoke to one of the "leasing agents" today about rodents near the back of my apartment. Not only did she seem offended, she accused me of complaining unnecessarily about things, because last summer I had complained about a diaper on my back patio. I said that there is overflowing garbage around the building and this may be the cause of the rat problem. Her excuse for the rodent problem was, "The building is near the woods." Maybe I'm confused, but I didn't realize rats were attracted to the woods, I thought they were attracted to trash, which is the reason we see so many around dumpsters, etc? read more

If I could give this place a 0 I would. Nick in the office is disrespectful and rude. He should not be dealing with people. Also, emergency responders can not get to you as the security key pads never work, and they need to be let in. They also will take every bit of your money! It's not a pleasant place to live. Loud parties in the clubroom and the outside patio last night until 2 am. Noise came in through my closed bedroom windows and I had to call the police. Management needs to close off the patio for use at night because the noise is excessive from people talking and laughing. This has happened many times since I moved in, and nothing has changed. An apartment place that allows loud parties to disrupt the lives of its own tenants is not a good place to live in no matter how good it looks. Of course I will probably have to leave here before my lease ends due to the noise, but then I was told that I still have to pay the one month rent penalty which is $2800, even though the reason I have to leave is because I am kept awake by parties outside my window at night. If you are thinking of moving to Watertown Mews, you need to avoid these apartments unless you enjoy loud drunken people talking and laughing outside of your window at 1 am. You should also avoid any apartments around the pool because it's open for several months during the summer and it can get quite loud. Also, pray that you don't have any problems because no one really cares about you. I read some of these reviews and their at most laughable. First of all, I normally do not comment about other's experiences, but Neo W's negative 1 star review cannot be taken seriously. Just a quick tour of his/her profile will show you he/she hasn't given anyone over a 2 star rating out of everything he's ever commented about. Sounds to be like he/she needs to re-define his expectations about life in general. I live in Watertown Mews, and quite frankly, in one of the apartments Neo W has listed as stay away from. And to be completely honest. I actually live right above the patio and club room, for almost 8 months. I can honestly say I have I ever seen 50 people in that club room. At most, I have seen 10-15 people for a private event. I have never been bothered by sound or noises coming from the club room. I have never had to call the police, the staff or 911? Then again, I don't call 911 unless it's an actual emergency or someone is dying..... The staff has been great, always helping out with any questions or problems I may have. I've placed a couple of work orders that were filled within the week. Amenities are great, always accessible. Location is great with Russo's, Stop and Shop, and other things at your reach. The staff constantly try to ask residents for their opinions about how they can improve the living situations. They are always having resident events and parties such as Holiday parties, wine nights, Sports parties, and Holiday events. It sounds like some of these people need to re-evaluate their living situation. This is a community, an apartment complex, not a personal home. One comment was that the clubroom and the theatre room closes at 10:00 pm???? Of course it does, it's literally the 1st thing they tell you when you tour the building, to avoid the supposedly loud noises and late parties that Neo is talking about. This should be no surprise. However, you can stay as long as you want in those rooms as long as you are in before 10 pm, and you can even let people in if you are already in there. This is to keep people from coming down after 10 pm and creating a loud ruckus. I just finished watching a movie in the theatre room at midnight. I will tell you, the Watertown Mews is a great place to live. I would highly recommend it to anyone else. read more

Super upset about Watertown Mews Apartment Management! Yesterday there was a huge party going all the way to 2am in the morning. It was super loud and approximately 50 people in and outside the club room right down my window. Called police at 12:30am in the morning and they didn't leave until 2. Went to the management office at 12pm today and was upset along with depression caused by last night. The manger was not helpful at all and kind of blamed me for being "rude". She asked me: why it's only you reporting this noise issue? Why didn't other people think it's loud besides you? I wouldn't have called 911 if there was no noise issue. So unhappy about this clubroom thing and the management here. Don't suggest people to live here with high rent fee and poor management!! read more

Wrapping up my first year here so time for a review. Relocated to MA from a 3 BR condo that I owned to a 1 BR apartment with den. Unlike many living here, I had lived in an apartment since college. I'm not needy but had high expectations. We got off to a rocky start- moved into this beautiful and well-designed community after it had been open a month. There were a number of challenges that would be typical of a new community and construction was ongoing at the second building. Not everything worked like it should have and maintenance was running behind. The leasing office staff was running ragged. I continued to share my frustrations and concerns and within a few months things were running smoothly. Very stable now that most apartments are occupied. Have had some turnover in staffing but Trenda and Kate have been there since the opening. Love the floor plan, amenities, pool, and fitness area and have met some great people. They have all helped me transition into apartment life again. I tend to get a lot of packages (they tell me there should be an award) and package pick up has been challenging off and on. But the team has been flexible and worked with me to make sure I get my packages. Right across the street from Russo's market and close to trails and bike path. Renewed my lease last week- my rent went up $35 per month. Completely reasonable considering the increases my friends are seeing in the Boston area. Looking forward to the outdoor salt water pool opening this weekend and making use of the gas grills for a cookout. This being my first winter in MA, I do have to add that I appreciate garage parking being available (fee) and the snow removal was outstanding. Wish they didn't clear it so loudly at 4am but I know the dog walkers appreciated the clear sidewalks. Pet-friendly community (I have a cat). read more

This is the best as it gets when it comes to apartment/condo living. Staff is excellent, amenities are great and the community is very nice. They host lost of events, one of which was a DIY Coaster Event with the maintenance workers, it was so much fun and they were so attentive! Sure the appliances may not be "top notch" but they do the job. The important part is the staff is always on duty to help with any requests and/or improvements. Great location as well. read more

Having lived in apartments for over 10 years, I can certainly say Watertown Mews apartments are as good as they get. Facilities - gym, swimming pool, car care area, luxurious club rooms - are top notch modern and office staff & maintenance staff are very courteous & helpful all the time (Kate rocks!!!). Service requests are taken care promptly and the common areas are kept very clean. And the only reason for the service requests, which is the only minor downside in our experience, is a bit of poor finishing job by the construction company. They probably rushed into completing the construction...slight blemishes that could have been avoided in an otherwise truly upscale apartment. They did a tremendous job of keeping the roads & roof clean while the snow was piling up last winter and of course, having a garage (fee) certainly helped getting through the rough season. We moved here about an year ago from a country side setting in central west NJ and since then, we feel that the neighborhood here is a huge plus. Russo's market, Stop & Shop, BJs, Shaws & many other businesses are just a few mins away. And so are are many parks & trails. Overall, we have had a very pleasant experience here and I sure think this is a top choice for an apartment in Watertown. read more

We moved into Watertown Mews back in September 2014 and have loved every minute of it. Management Staff The staff in the office is welcoming, friendly and very responsive to any of our requests. Trenda, Kate, Sarah and Sean (now promoted to work at another property) have all exceeded our expectations as a property management team these past 6 months. Service Staff I have only had the pleasure of dealing with Abel and he has taken care of everything we have asked for promptly. He even sat with me for 15 mins to show me how to relight the pilot on our fireplace so if it happened again we could be right back in business (I've since had to relight it a few times due to the strong winds this winter). Apartment Our apartment has been great, we get a lot of light being in a two bed/two bath corner unit. We can hear our neighbors upstairs from time to time however its to be expected with apartment living. We get compliments every time we have guests over and it truly makes us happy to walk into such a nice place every day. Pets We have a small 5yr old jack russell that has tons of energy that loves to run around the apartment. Its been great to socialize her with other dogs on the property and meet other owners. The property is also excellent about making sure the grounds are clean with provided doggy bags and trash receptacles to place them in. They also participate in a doggy DNA program to deter dog owners from not cleaning up after their dogs ($100 fine I believe). Parking There is tons of parking here. The place appears to be almost 100% rented and you will ALWAYS find a spot for you and your guests. The garage is an excellent deal if you wish to avoid being exposed to the elements. Amenities The club house is always kept clean and stocked with fresh lemonade. The entertainment room is great for playing poker or watching a game with several people. The outdoor grilling areas are well kept and the bocce court is usually available. The pool looks great but we didn't get a chance to use it given that it got too cold by the time we moved in. Neighborhood This is a hidden gem of an area. There is a bus stop right outside the apartment complex, however we love to drive everywhere including our daily commute into Back Bay for work. It takes us about 30 mins door to door with the option to take the Pike or Storrow into Boston depending on traffic (Google maps traffic is very accurate in telling us which to choose). Residents We have met several residents at the holiday events hosted by the staff and befriended a few from there. I'd say the apartment complex is a mix of young professionals, young married couples and young families. Grounds The grounds are always well kept, even during the blizzards we had this winter, the apartment complex tarmac was clearer than the public roads in Watertown. Overall if you're looking for a place to live in the Boston area, this is an excellent option. read more

I like Watertown mews, I moved here from another bozzuto property because of my love of the previous property I decided to stay with in the same management company. I very much enjoy the amenities and I do my best to get my use out of them. The office staff does a great job of addressing my concerns and work orders are completed in a timely manner. This is a very nice play to live, starting from the great location very close to the Russos, BJ's and a lot of restaurants in Watertown, Newton and Waltham. Masspike is about 7 minutes away. My commute to Boston is about 15 minutes. Gym, free yoga classes, conference room with free WiFi, entertainment room, pool, lounge area, outside grills. Everything is very nice, clean and useful. What about management stuff, I can tell that they helped us with all our issues from our noisy neighbors to our personal needs. Easy to contact them and we are always aware of the upcoming events and developments. Highly suggest this place!! read more

The main thing is the terrible management! They don't care about you and your needs. Trenda is simply rude and dismissive. It's greatly overpriced for the service you get. And another thing - you will get to pay huge water bills and nobody will give you an explanation. My husband and I moved in about 6 months ago and have been happy so far! The amenities are a great addition and the amount of space you get for your money is great. We have lived in 2 "managed" buildings like this in the past and this outranks the other two. We haven't had any of the noise issues that others mention but I think that's hit or miss based on who you live next to or above/below. The gym is in great shape and the extra living spaces (Media center, office space, living rooms) make your 1bd or 2bd feel much larger. Having access to a guest suite is awesome and is great for out of town guests. The office staff is accommodating and helpful (there is some turnover). Maintenance staff is awesome and requests are handled quickly! Location is convenient to some restaurants and an abundance of grocery stores (including Russo's market). Bus options are available right outside the main entrance. As long as rent stays competitive we'd be happy to stay! read more

Wow, nothing good to say about this place! My husband and I really want to move and this building looks gorgeous, so we tried to make an appointment, but when we called, we were directed to a central service agency who couldn't make a reservation for us. So we had no choice but to drive over to the building. We got there 30 minutes before closing time and the office lights were shut off and the door was locked, but we saw someone inside, so we knocked on the door. The lady answered the door and said she didn't have time to show us a unit so to come back another time. What??? There were 30 minutes until they closed--they obviously wanted to leave early or not be working at all since they'd locked the office and the lights were out. So there we are, standing there with our baby thinking, "You know, if you're going to charge us $3000 a month for the privilege of 'resort living,' then when our water heater breaks, will you say, "Sorry--we don't have time to fix this? We want to go home.'" We obviously told them that we would be looking for somewhere else to live. There are a lot of luxury buildings in Watertown, and this one is furthest from public transportation and Watertown center. If you want to pay for this kind of style, then you should expect a certain level of accommodation from employees. That obviously isn't the case here. Glad we didn't move in before discovering that the service at this place is awful! read more

This place really sucks for the price. They charge you a lot of money and yet there is lack of response. For example, I had to place work order to replace light bulbs three times and it took over 2 months to respond. BBQ area was out of order for 2 months and they could not fix any of the grills. The pool is way too overcrowded and a lot of guests. As a resident I found it to be an inconvenience and never was able to get a chair unless it was off hours. When I left they made me pay for additional rent and yet my electrical bill was 3x higher. My guess is that they had their maintenance re-paint the area and they cranked up the AC. This place if way too expansive for what they have to offer. Stay away. read more

My boyfriend and I have lived at Watertown Mews for about 15 months now and overall we've had a very positive experience. We really enjoy the gym, pool, weekly FREE Yoga classes, and grill areas as well as the location to our jobs and of course to Russo's Market across the street. We've had some minor issues such as the grills in the grill area being broken for an extended period of time, the Yoga room door shattered about two months ago and has yet to be fixed, amongst some other minor issues. The maintenance staff is great, they always are prompt to respond to our service requests and ensure our needs are met. The common areas are really nice as well, I do wish they were open later so that there was more time to enjoy them, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. We've enjoyed living here thus far, however the cost of rent is very high (as expected for luxury apartments) but we will probably need to move elsewhere after our lease is up due to the high rent costs. All and all it's a great place to live and I would recommend it to anyone! read more
