Frank came to look at a potential project 9 days ago because it says "call for an estimate". I never heard back. I guess they do not need the work but I wanted to add on some tree removal as well. Alas, no follow up. I don't like that I have to put a star rating because there is no work to rate but this rating is for the lack of follow-up. UPDATE: Frank, I understand. Maybe just call or text and say, "I'm super busy but you're still on my radar!" Or something to that effect. I still need to get the work done and I even let you know that it wasn't a big rush so I'm not being impatient, just expected to at least have a follow-up. I'd been looking for a landscape company for months to help revitalize my front and backyards. I would reach out to landscapers only to have them show up late or not show up at all. Those that did show up gave estimates that either didn't include some of the work that I needed or were just too much. One estimate was so much that we didn't get past the front yard! Then I met Frank Hernandez from Hats Off Landscaping. My Neighbor and I were impressed with Frank and believed his estimates were reasonable. We hired his company. We had sod installed in our shared front lawn. In my front yard, the stump of a tree was removed and a new tree was planted (to the delight of the HOA, I'm sure!) I had a flower bed installed in my backyard from fence to fence. My backyard flooded every time it rained because roots from every surrounding tree took over my drainage system. When other landscapers told me that they would have to break through existing concrete, and charge thousands more than I could afford, Frank took the time to work through the issues and present me with a workable solution that was within my budget. I'm no longer worried about the foundation of my home being overrun with water. I can look outside my window and be proud of my backyard and I no longer feel like I have the worst yard on my block. Frank and his crew worked 10 to 12 hour days so they would not leave the project they began each day undone. I have used Frank and his company often and on for a few years and I've always had fantastic results. two months ago I decided to replace my front yard. Frank came out with his crew removed everything and put new sod down couple days after they laid the sod I noticed dead spots or what I thought was dead spots all over the yard. Frank came out took a look at it and he said looks like it's fungus. He came back out multiple times spreading fungicide on the yard and after about two weeks, I noticed a dead patch next to my sidewalk Frank replaced that and no extra charge constantly checking back with me to make sure everything was OK. Finally got the fungus under control. Frank is still gonna come out. Put down some more fertilizer. This company will go beyond the scope of service for you. I contacted Hats Off Landscaping because my sprinklers were acting up. I was so impressed by all the good reviews they had. Unfortunately when they got here I was told they would charge me $60 for a diagnostic fee!? I have used many businesses before but never did anyone ever charge me a for a quote/estimate. Secondly when I contacted them via yelp and we were going over the issues not once did they mention the "diagnostic fee" usually when there is a fee they inform you upfront before moving forward. I was told I needed all of my Sprinkler Valves replaced so I wanted to get 2nd opinion. I searched Yelp and came across this company. I sent a message, Frank responded immediately and was at my home within the hour. He informed me I would only need 1 valve replaced and within the next 45 min he had replaced it and it is working great. - Response time via message and arrival for job is fastest I have ever witnessed(and I have been around for a long time) -He could have charged me to replace all 6 but was up front, honest about what was needed and gave an affordable price.
