I don't like that I have to put a star rating because there is no work to rate but this rating is for the lack of follow-up. UPDATE: Frank, I understand. Maybe just call or text and say, "I'm super busy but you're still on my radar!" Or something to that effect. I still need to get the work done and I even let you know that it wasn't a big rush so I'm not being impatient, just expected to at least have a follow-up. The back of my backyard butts up against the street and they really was no dirt for the rock to sit on. Javier knew to put dirt and fill that area so the new rock would not fall out between my property and the rear fence. After the winter, all the rock started coming out the back of the property onto the street because Javier never put any dirt underneath it where he was supposed to. I sent him photos and asked him if he would fix this and he denied it and said that he put dirt there when you can clearly see there is no dirt there. Now all the rock is falling out. After he told me he put the dirt there I went and really looked again really hard and already knew there was none there and then sent the video showing Javier that there was no dirt. After that, Javier never responded and will not answer my calls. Would not recommend him. I have to put one star to post the review otherwise I would put zero sad to say. However, several issues during the service period made the overall experience challenging.To begin service, I paid a large initial fee, which set the expectation for stable and reliable ongoing maintenance. Despite that, the gardener later attempted to significantly increase the biweekly rate, citing fuel expenses. This was unexpected, especially given the upfront cost I had already paid. There were also repeated issues accessing the backyard because tenants did not leave the gate unlocked, which led to overgrowth and additional work. While I understand the difficulty, communication about these access problems was not consistent. Without timely updates, I couldn't address the issue with the tenants.Sanitation problems were another concern. Dog feces were often left in the yard by the tenants, but again, I wasn't consistently informed, which limited my ability to correct the situation. Additionally, multiple sprinkler heads were damaged during the period of service, something I had never experienced with previous gardeners.Ultimately, the gardener resigned abruptly, citing the access and sanitation issues. While I understand the challenges he faced, the lack of consistent communication and the property damage made the service less reliable than expected.

I am not a happy camper ... the end of August, I had Charlie order 670 Sqft . of Blue-Rye (High…read moreQuality) Sod and have his crew install the sod for me ... This is only because I am way too old to be on my hands and knees, for the time needed to lay the sod myself. In retrospect, I regret that I didn't ...l as I WOULD HAVE DONE a much more professional job. Instead, I gave them a tip ... only because I didn't have to put the sod Down... and didn't see "HOW POOR of a JOB" until the morning after ... The sod was local fresh cut from Delta Bluegrass Company here in Stockton and was of excellent quality cut rolls. The "Installation of it" was not. Left with poorly laid, gap-ridden, and torn sides on a few rolls from poor handling techniques, I was less than impressed. Having said that, grass can be repaired ... which the next morning, I proceeded to fill in all the gaps between the sod with topsoil, and had to buy some "expensive" Blue-Rye seed that is very hard to come by ... to fill in the seams and oversees a few other areas ... Even though the sod was poorly laid ... that is all correctable easily enough. My Main issue was the "lack of quality" and general overall "professionalism" ... I had reminded them several times to watch to not step on my sprinkler heads and I had spent a week on getting them adjusted and set to the proper depth... I witnessed them step on a few of them more than once, on several different occasions. The Biggest insult was when they had finished and had time to test the sprinkler coverage, someone forgot to cut out the opening for the sprinkler to "Pop up" ... so, when they tried to find it, stepping all over the sprinkler head and compressing it even further down in the ground. This now cannot be repaired until the sod has had a chance to firmly grow in place and establish itself before I can dig it up to repair the groundwork and raise the sprinkler heads back up to height. I would recommend "Delta Bluegrass Company" for your SOD, but I would think twice before hiring "Delta Charlie Sod" for installation work. Unless he does the work himself or brings a professional team of installers. One that won't undo 3 weeks of prep work to undo in an hour-and-a-halftimespan ... If I had the money, I would literally tear off 2/3rds of the sod, and redo my sprinkler heads, (3 of 8 were stepped on and compressed lower, one is requiring correction within about 6 weeks... the others can wait unless they sink lower once I START MOWING. so, I feel I got a great deal on the sod, negated by unprofessional workmanship. I felt Charlie knew what he was doing, but his crew was "Clueless".

There are a few reasons they are receiving a 4/5 review rather than 5 star. Communication was less than ideal, several times I had to reach out to Ulises inquiring when work would begin, continue, and addressing a few short comings during the project. I firmly believe if I didn't prompt Ulises first about the next step in the process I would have been left in the dark. The bigger issue was overall jobsite cleanliness. Part of the job required removing a small 4' x 4' pad of concrete to make way for the new walkway. Rather than hauling it away, throwing it in my trashcan, or stacking it somewhere for me to deal with later, the workers proceeded to disperse baseball sized chunks of concrete throughout my dirt yard. Seeing as I'm about to have irrigation and grass put in I've spent several hours picking chunks of concrete throughout the yard. Lastly employee/s left cigarette butts all over our backyard, do the next job a solid and clean up after yourselves. Overall they do a good job, with a bit more communication and attention to detail they'd be a 5/5.

Chris came out on a rainy day (instead of rescheduling), walked the project with me, did his due diligence and emailed me a 3d project video and the quote. Here's the difference - I had 5 quotes, none of them listened to what my wife and I wanted. Chris is the only one who listened to our ideas and enhanced them with his expertise. He was not the cheapest quote we got, but he was the most thorough. The project: complete front yard demo, build stairs surrounded by modern landscaping leading to a courtyard with custom planter boxes and lighting throughout. Chris gave us a timeline for the project and stuck with it. His crew, lead by Jorge, arrived on time everyday and cleaned up before they left for the day. It was a big, 2 week project and they finished on time. The entire crew was polite, waved at my kids everyday and worked hard. Project manager Jorge knew what needed to be done everyday and his team executed. Chris worked with our busy schedule, listened to all of our concerns and was quick to act or change directions as needed. Never once did he make us feel like we were not the most important client to him. There is always hesitance when thinking about pulling the trigger on a job that would cost a hefty 5 figures, but when the day we saw the finished product, our jaws dropped. They did such a good job in every aspect. Chris and Jorge clearly know what to do and how to do it. We have had non stop compliments from our neighbors, friends and family members. Chris gave us a beautiful court yard to enjoy and elevated our house's curb appeal to stand out. We have done many projects in the past and have never felt this good. He immediately understood what we were looking to accomplish and said he could take care of it that week. From that first conversation, he was responsive, professional, and incredibly easy to work with. They installed a completely new sprinkler system with a commercial-grade watering system and fertilizer ports, removed old debris and stumps, prepared the entire area, and even repurposed rocks we already had on the property to create a beautiful border around the new landscaping. What impressed me most was his attention to detail and communication. He sent pictures and videos throughout the day and kept me updated on every decision. At one point, after laying everything out, he felt the design needed one additional tree to balance the space, so he went and picked one up.
