We dined here for dinner with a cousin visiting from St. Louis on Saturday, 8/29/26. Everything was great! I had the Small White Plate with the Sweet & Smoky Dry Rub with Coleslaw and Fries. My husband had the Fried Jumbo Tenders Plate Hot with fries. My cousin had the Jumbo Whole Wings Plate Mild with fries. It's hard finding a good homemade lemonade, but they have one! There were plenty of spots for seating. Good pricing for what you get! I had a Peach Cobbler a la mode on the way home = good! Maybe getting our food To-Go was where we went wrong. We tried two classic Fried Chicken Sandwiches at different heat levels, plus the Smoky Bird Fries. Compared to our favorite fry house, it just didn't measure up, especially for the price. The sauce, amount of toppings, food quality, and overall flavor were all missing that "oh yeah!!" factor. They absolutely nailed everything else. The branding is perfect, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was clean inside and out. Enjoyed this place! I'm not much of a fast-food eater, but this isn't your typical fast-food restaurant. They're evidently best known for their fried offerings, but they also have grilled options, which is what I went with. I had the grilled tenders, and they were well-seasoned, hot, fresh, and juicy. I requested my fries without seasoning, and that's exactly how they came. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the service was great. The gal behind the counter was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job helping me navigate the menu and choose the right options. Saw it opened and decided to try it. By far the best fried chicken place I've been to. (It is a little pricey), but really good! Store is clean, staff is friendly, service is quick and overall à pleasant experience. I recommend downloading the app as you get a free dessert and kids eat free if you have the app. I got the fried tenders heat level "Damn Hot." A lot of chicken places do not do spice levels well this on does. It was hot and delicious. Blue cheese dressing was delicious. Side of fries were crispy. My wife got a chicken sandwhich spice level medium. Perfect amount of heat for her. She said it was juicy and delicious, but the coleslaw she recommended getting it on the side to not make it messy. She got the grits and they were by far the best grits I've had. Seasoned perfectly and topped off with green onion. My little boy got a grilled tender kids meal with the spice level southern and he loved it. Only thing that lacked flavor was the ranch. Aside from that we will be coming back! This is my 3rd "The Sandwich" at my 3rd different location. I recently saw that this location had opened and was in a position to try it today. My original Hattie B experience at the now closed Deep Ellum location was superior to this one. The sandwich was perfect and I couldn't wait to return. Unfortunately they closed that location? And my next visit was to its replacement on Oaklawn. Again,a good experience but not as good as the Deep Ellum. But,I'd go back. So when this popped up I was anxious for a place to experience the ethereal perfect representation of a Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Unfortunately this wasn't it today. An overabundance of employees were preoccupied with discussing who was going to close. I waited a minute or two for this to pass. Then the point of sale tip trick gave me a first choice of 20+ % a second of 18 and third of 15. I gave 15 begrudgingly. I don't agree with counter order tipping. I think it's taken for granted. That is proven out in my order which was delivered( smilingly) to my table in under 10 minutes. However,I was charged 68 cents for an extra blue cheese sauce which was forgotten. Tip wasted. The sandwich and fries looked great however, bitting into the sandwich, quite a bit of grease came out. Not juicy hot just fried chicken juice, but grease. I soldiered through it enjoying it just enough not to take it back to the counter. I have mixed feelings about the place. This is the third Hattie B's I've been too. Two in Nashville and one in downtown Dallas. Their sides are very good. Their chicken is not seasoned well. They sprinkle the seasoning on one side and hot is medium, medium is mild. Very disappointing. The drinks were one small size only option. I first tried this in Nashville I wasn't sure what to expect at the Plano Texas location. It was okay I do like the original location better but that is to be expected. The chicken wasn't as good as I remember and it could be seasoned a little better but it was okay. The greens were good and the Mac and cheese was just average nothing like I was expecting. 1st time here with lots of friends and families. We had seen the original location in Nashville but much too crowded to get in that day. Nice we have one in Plano now. Came to try this place out. I noticed the one in deep ellum a while back so I was excited to try something new. Nice place, friendly service. The let sample the beans before I ordered them and I like them. So I added that as my side. I don't eat much so I got a kids tender meal and it was more then enough. There tenders are pretty big. I got the mild and it was still pretty spicy. I will say it was a bit too salty for me but each his own. Overall I liked it, I'd eat again and maybe get a sweet rub. read more

We stopped by this new Plano location on Saturday afternoon. This was our first time visiting this Nashville based fast food eatery. They currently have a 100 health score from the Plano Health Department. There were a large number of customers coming in and out. The restaurant was reasonably clean for a fast food restaurant. The counter employee greeted us and took our order with ease. We sat down and our meal was brought to us shortly thereafter. The server was very nice and responsive. Is this so good that I would go out of my way to visit again? Yes it is. I would say this for perhaps one in ten restaurants I have visited. This seems to be located where Boston Market used to be. The chicken is cooked to order. The medium spice is right for me. I am not a cold slaw person, but with it on my chicken sandwich, it was great. Others have mentioned how great the staff is here. They are super friendly and the hostess comes around to refill drinks and make sure the table is clean of any trace of a previous guest. So, I will be back. I have visited Hattie B's previously in Memphis and Nashville- this new Plano location for fast casual spicy chicken delivers on expectations regarding taste & food quality. I don't write many reviews these days - but I am compelled to do so today because the service was absolutely exceptional. During my visit it was a busy lunch time rush- but the staff were extremely efficient & friendly. I felt like every employee was going above and beyond to check on and take care of all the customers and gave the place that kind of southern hospitality & charm usually only found in small privately owned businesses versus a chain. One of your employees at the register, about 5'6-5'8, short spiky hair, brown skinned, dry lips, was very unprofessional and created an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience. (9/12/26, around 3:00pm). He chose to flirt aimlessly with me while I asked questions about the menu items, even telling me to come and "see him more often". This kid was no older than 25. He then came up to me after the order was placed, and mocked and harassed me for not being interested in his advances. This is not quality customer service, and background checks should be standard. Glad Hattie B's opened in Plano. Went with a friend originally from Nashville . Will have to say the staff were all supper friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very clean . I ordered a whole chicken all white with half southern ( no heat) and half hot to take home . For my sides I chose greens . They were spicy but cooked well. Cole slaw to go with the take home was good. My friend got the 3 tenders in mild. They were very large . Her sides were pimento mac & cheese.( yum) and greens . The hot is definitely hot but had a very good flavor . The only thing we didn't like was the banana pudding. Not sure maybe the bananas were too over ripe or the seasoning we didn't care for. Good location . They were very busy and we got there when they opened. You must try for yourself . I give it 4 1/2 stars . Will return and try tenders in mild or medium. read more

Disappointed is the best word for this. I've watched them building here and on 15th street and been excited to try a new chicken place. Today was my first time to order- not knowing how hot "hot" was I went for "southern" and boy, they were not kidding...it is NOT hot... bland is the only word I can use to describe the chicken I received. (They have other options from "Mild" to "What the Cluck" which hopefully have more flavor!) But before we even get to the food, I ordered online, which was simple and mostly clear. I do wish there had been descriptions of the heat level beyond just the name. The pinkish sauce/spices image next to the"southern" made me expect SOME flavor. From there I drove to the restaurant- about 10 minutes. That process was a bit confusing. I received a confirmation text setting my pickup in 10 min. Then 2 minutes later a text telling me my order was ready for in store pickup. Then 3 minutes later a text telling me to let them know I was on my way so they'd have fresh hot food for me. The link took me to the website where I tapped "on my way" and shared my location. Great sign for a steaming hot meal! Then I clicked the link saying I'd arrived and prepared to get out of my car when I received a text telling me to pull to the pickup window. The pickup window was behind the building in an area that had clearly not been completed. It is overgrown and feels unkempt- grass growing over the curbs, walls and dumpsters on all sides- little details that just make you second guess the food. (If they don't care about details like the customer impressions of store appearance, what other details do they not care about? I'll tell you two: flavor and temperature.) The young man who greeted me at the window was friendly and efficient. Asked my name and grabbed my order. He checked it with me ( was all correct) and wished me a nice day. I won't lie, I was hungry- so I immediately broke open the box to grab some fries. I expected steaming hot given the text discussions, but instead they were warm. Well seasoned and tasted good- but not for long before the lack of temp made them unappetizing . The chicken was similarly cool. Not cold, but DEFINITELY not steaming hot. My guess is the first text 10 minutes or so before that said "your food is ready" was right- they packaged the food as soon as I ordered, ignoring my pickup time, and just left it sitting there until I got there. All the "click here" and sharing my location? No purpose. And the taste? Bland. Bland. Bland. I totally understand this is the lowest level of their spice hierarchy, but that doesn't mean it needs to be literally flavorless. I ate one and a half of the 3 tenders then threw the rest away. They were not crispy, not hot, and tasted like cardboard. They WERE much more generously cut - more meat- than Cane's are, but the lack of any flavor made it unappetizing. The breading was some awkward in between breaded and crust that ended up just being nothing. Blech. The "sweet and tangy" Cole slaw was equally bland. Neither sweet nor tangy. Just mayonnaise and cabbage with some carrot added for color. I paid extra to try it and again, the word that came to mind was bland. To end on a high note- I did enjoy the pickles! I was confused on ordering because the choices were "no pickles" or "pickles on the side." Not sure if you just don't choose anything you don't get pickles? Or you get them on top of your fries? I chose "on the side" and they came in a little cup. They were the best part of the meal, which should tell you something. Overall, if I was starving and this place was available, I'd try it again? But would I ever go out of my way to eat here? Never. read more

I have wanted to try Hattie B's for nine years since seeing it in Nashville and hearing all the hype. Today was the day we decided to stop in the Plano location while out running errands. We were greeted by Avery who was extremely welcoming and helpful as we decided what to order. Amazingly, he even came over and checked on us several times, which is not something you'd expect at a fast food style restaurant. He was very attentive and genuinely made the whole experience better! The restaurant itself was clean and inviting and the music was upbeat, but at a reasonable volume where you could still quietly converse with your table. The self service drink area and the bathrooms were clean as well! The Hattie Melt sandwich was not spicy but flavorful and delicious on a buttery toasted bun with a side of coleslaw, which they apparently make every day in house. We also tried the loaded fries with medium hot fried chicken, which were very good as well, but I feel like the upgrade to add more chicken would definitely be the way to go in the future. And the new Hattie Q sauce is 10/10! We look forward to the next visit when we will try the bone-in Nashville hot chicken and some tenders and explore some of their more southern style sides, such as grits, beans, and greens. read more

Okay so I'm finally getting to write this second review from a few weeks ago from another visit to Hattie's! I got the sweet and smokey seasoning on the chicken which was top notch flavor and not over powering because I could still taste the coleslaw with it too which was a delicious combo!! The French fries were just okay and not good as leftovers. I feel like they should be a little bit more crispy but maybe I'm kinda picky with that. I'm just saying other places have better fries. The one last thing that I wanted to voice my opinion about was how terrible the dessert was!! Just by the smell and taste alone, you can definitely tell that this is made with canned peaches and NOT fresh!! I was very disappointed in that so I'm very grateful that it was free because I would never pay even $1 for something like that. Hopefully next time I can try out the banana pudding!! The service was excellent. These young servers (teens) were very attentive and checked on us often, not enough to annoy though. Though I didn't order any food (my wife shared some of hers), it was very tasty. She got the chicken leg/thigh medium with Mac and cheese and the grits. I preferred the grits and was not impressed with the Mac. If it came out warmer, it would have been better I imagine. Still, great place, great service and excellent staff! The tenders were well breaded with a tasty rub and the chicken was cooked just right! The honey mustard sauce was a good dipping one. The grits were soft and tasty! Really good food, didn't hate the pricing. Probably the best fries i've ever had they were very crisp and well seasoned. At first I assumed this would be like a copycat of Dave's Hot Chicken but I found it to be 1,000x better. Their "Comeback" sauce was so good, a bit honey mustard like but definitely makes its own sauce category. The medium spice wasn't very spicy so I'll definitely up the level next time. Everyone in my party decided this will now be a restaurant we frequent:) My only complaint is the music was EXTREMELY loud and seemed to get louder as we sat and ate. We did not say anything to the staff about this which is our own fault. The restaurant was barely full and it was still overwhelmingly loud along with hearing what i'm assuming were the counter servers or kitchen staff screaming pretty loudly in the back. The chicken and baked beans were very good. The coleslaw was standard fare. Good but nothing different from most places. The staff was attentive and friendly. My only real complaint was the music was a little too loud. We felt like we had to lean in to place our order. l understand creating a vibe but everyone around us had to talk louder to be heard. Food was on point, got level hot and it was perfect for me. Wifey got medium and it was perfect for her. We were so excited when this place opened up because it was the best fried chicken we've had in Nashville. However, this location is completely different. The chicken was definitely fried and old oil because it tasted extremely fishy, there was no AC in the store and it took them about 25 minutes to make one order of tenders and one sandwich with some fries...
