Came here just as a rest stop before my college best friend, Chooksedo Sam, and I were going to Ballard Kayak for about two hours. It was a good time! Cozy feel with unique decorations that reminded me of a college dorm in the best way possible. Definitely cleaner than one! Got the waffle fries to complement my much-craved mimosas, which did not feel strong at all. I love that the mimosas have a variety of juices to choose from, but I wish that it was stronger to make it worth the price. This place is pricey, but I loved the aesthetic of the location. Waffle fries were standard; nothing outstanding. Service was great, with the kindhearted and humorous staff. I will say that parking here could be tough as it is side street, but we came on a Sunday, so not as busy and it was free!

What a gem! Ballards last stand, since 1904! Authentic historic diner. Quirky. Fun. Seattle prices, but what can you do when the City sets the wages? Good service, good food, vibe off the hook, full bar, 24 hour breakfast. Great bacon. AVOID THE RED HASH unless you love beets! It is beets!

I've been to Hattie's Hat a handful of times now, and I honestly keep ordering the same thing: the adult grilled cheese. It's just really good, no notes, and I don't feel the need to branch out when it hits every time. Food comes out quickly, service is easygoing, and it's the kind of place where you can show up without overthinking it. Parking in the back has always been pretty simple for me, which is a plus in this area. I also just like this part of town in general -- lots of solid spots nearby, and Hattie's Hat feels like a true neighborhood staple that's been around long enough to show it knows what it's doing. Five stars for consistency and comfort without trying too hard.

We popped in here during the farmers market because it was rainy outside and this spot was somewhere we wanted to check out anyway. Pleasantly surprised to get a table right away and got a big booth, which is always nice. Love the vibe and decor inside, and love that they have the patio structure out front. It took awhile for a server to come over after we sat down but once we started getting service, food came out quickly. I love that they have the early bird breakfast so that I can get a smaller portion of the basic breakfast items. Would definitely come back again and happy hour looks good.

We've been to Hattie's Hat a couple of times, usually hitting it just before going to a gig at the Tractor Tavern (it's just a few doors down). Decent food, great service, very good bar selection. Ample places to sit, both indoor and out, with plenty of stools at the bar as well. Service is fast! We had our orders taken shortly after arriving, and the food arrived quickly after that. Food quality is decent, higher end bar fare. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, which was quite good. My girlfriend ordered the Voodoo Burger, with a vegetarian patty. She enjoyed it, but found the bottom bun a little soggy, which dampened the quality a bit. Wrt drinks, I ordered the Offset Dry Cider, and she a Tanqueray and Soda. Both were good.

We came around noon on a Sunday before walking the Ballard Farmers Market, and they were busy but got us seated pretty quickly. The ambiance is fun and casual with funky decor throughout, however the inside walking areas and bathrooms are all pretty narrow so people using mobility aids may have difficulty navigating the interior seating options. They did have covered and heated outside tables today, so that may be an option other days of the week too. The staff are kept super busy so the service is on the slower side, but the food is tasty and they also had The Nightmare Before Christmas playing on a big screen tv and projector which helped the time to pass festively. Their hollandaise sauce is a bit spicy but not too much so, it's an interesting take on a breakfast classic.

It's a great dive bar vibe here. The happy hour menu was perfectly priced for a smaller affordable bite. The chicken quesadilla had chicken, green chilies and cheese. Not greasy at all and a good quesadilla. The hamburger was smaller than the menu priced hamburger. And came with fries. Simple and tasty. The sweet potato fries were cut into circles. Sort of tasty but in a strange shape. And not super crispy. The music was loud and strangely eclectic. Super friendly service. Always appreciated. Everything ordered off the Happy Hour. Came to this restaurant before seeing a show at The Tractor down the street. Good vibes peeps. SYOY!

We stopped here for brunch. One of our friends said hatch brown was good. It looked okay. My friend ordered extra crispy, you might want to consider ordering extra crispy. I just got biscuits with gravy, it was biscuit with soup. It was not bad but it was not good. It did not have a lot of sausage bits. My other friend ordered chicken and waffle. Chicken was not bone in, it is not your what you would think when you order chicken and waffle. Service was good but we did have to asked for water and refilled on coffee. Street parking , we parked at a lot that cause $5 per hour.

What a gem! Breakfast for 2 before our Alaska adventure. I had the Benny's, not a traditional hollandaise but very very good. I cleaned my plate which is rare at breakfast. Coffee was very good. We were waited on by very nice ladies. Bringing home those cute mugs to remember our visit!

We were seated quickly, and our server was nice but unhelpful and unattentive. We ordered the ballard scramble and the chicken fried chicken breakfast. Our food came out in less than 5 minutes, which to us, was questionable in that we wondered how fresh our food was vs. if certain food items (scrambled eggs, hash browns / potatoes, fried chicken, etc.) is kept in warmers in the kitchen, ready to serve. Plus, our food got cold rather quickly. As for ambiance, it kinda stinks when you're seated in the back corner with servers refilling ketchup bottles when several other tables with a better atmosphere are available. Overall, the food was very bland and we left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied.

I'm always on the search for a gripping Eggs Benedict. I found a euphoric option here at Hattie's Hat They offer various options for protein, thank you! And I chose the chicken fried chicken Their hollandaise sauce was up'd a notch with a lit' heat So lovely The place has been there for ages, over 120 years, so it feels oh so very comfortable.

My first visit to Hattie's Hat was during a summer bike ride. My husband and I decided to go on a long ride to get breakfast in the Ballard/Fremont area. Hattie's Hat is easy access from the Burke Gilman trail, even bike parking a few steps away. I ordered the basic breakfast (hashbrowns, eggs and toast). My husband ordered a breakfast biscuit sandwich. They also have a full bar; serving mimosas, beer, bloody Mary's, etc! We saved ourselves for beer on the way home so we passed on the libations. I have been at least 10 times since the first visit. It is my favorite breakfast spot in Seattle!! My favorite breakfast is the chicken fried chicken. It comes with toast or English muffin, but I always request a biscuit (bc hello there's gravy!) It never disappoints! Hearty, rib sticking, homemade goodness!!! The hashbrowns are my favorite type! Kind of mashed potato/hashbrowns hybrid! They are delicious!!! Hattie Hat is my new GO TO breakfast spot in Seattle! Service is always friendly and quick... and most importantly DELICIOUS!

This is a pop up hosted at Janet's Stumbletown, a stone's throw from Ginger & Scallion. This is for an initial two month residency Wednesdays to Sundays 11am to 3pm. First, pack your patience finding street parking in this busy retail & residential area on NW 65th. I was eventually able to find a 2 hour slot nearby. I was the first customer in the door for the soft opening. It was great to see both Janet (owner of both Stumbletown and Chocolat Vitale) and Boss onsite. Orders and payment are placed at the register. Good to see JP and his team also at the kitchen line. Various seating at Stumbletown: bar & counter seating, booths, and as one to three tops flanked with a banquette. Pleasant interior with natural light and a decent soundtrack overhead. I ordered the Caesar salad and the House 8oz sirloin cap steak with mushroom bordelaise. I stuck with water, but other beverages can be ordered separately from the Stumbletown bar. The fries/frites are cooked in beef tallow. The sirloin is prepared with a garlic butter thyme baste. The menu has both 4oz or 8oz steaks and three sauces to choose from. I enjoyed the Caesar salad. The butter lettuce was well dressed with accompanying parmesan cheese shavings and tiny croutons. The frites were topped with the steak slices, thinly sliced mushrooms in the red wine sauce, and garnished with finely minced shallots and chives. As my first meal of the day "brunch", overall this was nicely presented and prepared. Packed full of flavor and left satisfied but not stuffed. Just right and completed in about 45 minutes. Doable if one has to get back to work. Might want to get coffee after to stave off any potential food coma, lol. I'd rate this 4.5, rounded to a 5. Great dining choice with earlier hours that's easier on the wallet in today's economy.

We ordered munchies and drinks while we waited for our table at Delancey. The bartender / server knew we would be headed to Delancey in 40 minutes or so, and handled things well accordingly. We got a plate of olives (tasty, great finger food) and drinks. The Yonder cider was good, not too sweet. The Martini was tasty. I had two quibbles: The first was with the pricing: the martini was charged as two separate items: 1) gin (I suppose the charge varies by the kind of gin or vodka in your martini) 2) martini (which is apparently the non-vodka or or non-gin part of your drink) While I'm sure this makes it easier to track for the bartender and inventory, as well as for charging, as a customer, it's a little odd to have a mixed drink be a two-part charge. The second was the included 20% automatic gratuity. I don't object to the concept of a standard service charge, I just wish it had been more prominently displayed so that I wouldn't have added a 20% tip on top of that (and my tip was on the amount that included tax, service charge and drinks / food). So, buyer beware ... the service is good, the ambiance is nice, the food and drinks are good -- but the payment / billing is non-standard, and can cause unexpected surprises.
