I found Hauler a little more than a year ago while surfing the internet needing a hauler and they have been the best! After using them the first couple of times we no longer use other haulers. I was on a tight schedule for a small but important job to be done and a contract in place with another company when that company canceled the day before the job was to be done In a panic I asked around and was given the number for Hauler! I phoned, explained the situation, asked if they could do the job and do it on such short notice in order to keep the original schedule. Yep. Reckoned they could. Everything unfolded beautifully. Their 3-man team showed up on time, dismantled the furniture at one place, transported it to another location, reassembled there, and then carted away the old furniture. An A+ experience all-around starting with my initial phone call and texts with Jon the CEO. Anthony provided excellent communication en route. On-site, Anthony and Jesús were courteous, friendly, helpful and respectful of the property. They first removed some run-of-the-mill house junk for me, and then went above and beyond to unearth yard junk from under the soil and leaves. They told me how some of this would be donated -- stuff I wasn't even expecting to be :-) And then they carried a 1962 CRT TV / photograph / radio Magnavox console that weighed goodness-knows-how- much down a flight of stairs after clearing my cluttered mess to create a path. It was a sentimental item (much dancing fun was had with it at my grandparents' parties) and the guys handled it with care and the hopes of giving it another life. Thanks so much guys!!! I originally gave this company a 1 star review because they were 2.5 hours late to our scheduled pick up, and they were not answering any of our calls or text messages. What happened was, I took off of work to be home to help with the haulers. They scheduled it for 9am but they did not arrive until almost noon. We found out that the owner Jon messed up the scheduling. However, when the haulers finally arrived, Isaiah and Milan, they were very friendly and very apologetic. They felt so bad and embarrassed that I was convinced it was not their fault for being late. To accommodate my time, they took $100 off of our quoted price of $250. I was very pleased with their willingness to take responsibility for being late. I also received a call and text message from the owner directly, apologizing for the inconvenience. True sign of exceptional customer service. I am however taking away one star because they definitely need to organize their scheduling a lot better. The haulers informed me that this was not the first time scheduling has gotten messed up. I am also taking away the star because the haulers could not accept card (even though they proudly stated they accepted cards on their voicemail and on their website). The manager/owner is the only person with a card swiper, so if he specifically is not on site, your only option is check or cash. Thank goodness I knew where my boyfriend kept his checks ;) read more

My wife and I walked in to Mixed Nuts on Balboa on the way to see a movie and one of the owners let us know that they also have a hauling/moving company called "Hauler!" We live in a cooperative house and have been working on improving our backyard from astroturf-cedar mulch-concrete block wasteland to permaculture paradise, and today John and Tom came by to move a bunch of waste for us. They were friendly, hardworking, and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend them. We really like the fact that we could support a local small business, and they did a great job of moving organic and inorganic waste through our house without leaving any mess at all. I've used Jon and his guys at Hauler several times now (both for work and home pickups). They show up when they're supposed to and they get the job done w/a helpful attitude. In fact, this most recent pickup at the office was supposed to be handled by a two-man team; well, one of the guys never showed so Kyle had to manage the job solo. He moved 10 large lateral filing cabinets, 8 old desk chairs and a huge wooden desk by himself and in a decent amount of time (we had to do this on a Sunday because of landlord restrictions on moving time during normal business hours).
