I am a huge Halloween fan so group of six friends drove down for opening weekend this year. It was a rainy, foggy night which added a bit to the creepy factor. We were one of the few people there so no lines or waiting! The haunted walk was closed due to the weather :/ (they did allow us to keep the tickets and redeem the walk portion on another night). The maze was actually quite confusing and you definitely felt like you were walking in circles and going the wrong way. Simple yet effective design. The graveyard was probably my least favorite attraction. Nice props and characters but nothing all that scary. Still entertaining though. Area 52 was actually really fun. You wear 3d glasses and it gives a fun effect when walking through the house. It does make you a little dizzy and makes it hard to determine where everything is (in a good way). Inmate Attraction was also really well done. The whole insane asylum type of feel was well done in this house. Great actors and props again. Lots of fun! read more

Now located in the woods behind Liquid Planet water park in Candia. Saw the attraction in Epping in 2010 before they moved. Liked it enough. Was pretty disappointed that it wasn't much of a change up in Candia. You could tell they put in work with the actual outdoor attractions but not a lot. The thing that always bothers me about most places is seeing how dedicated one aspect of a haunt is and comparing it to how miserable another aspect is. Like with this place; how do you have a huge fire ball blast every 20 minutes and still have actors that litteraly stand up as a scare? How do you manage these big sets and still force people to wait in line longer because you need to give your actors "breaks"? There is hardly another haunt on the planet that makes people wait because of breaks, it's hard to find one that even has breaks. But these guys are insistent on it. Gave it another shot in 2013. It was the same exact haunt it was 2 years ago. If they aren't going to put in the effort to try something else then no one should put in the effort to visit them a second time. read more

I'd known about Haunted Acres for a while now, but somehow I never made it up to Epping to give it a shot - that is, until I noticed that they had a buy-one-get-one opening weekend deal on Groupon. THAT was all the motivation I needed to drive up to New Hampshire and check it out. Haunted Acres is located in the woods behind the New England Dragway on Exeter Road in Epping. Once you enter the Dragway parking lot, you've got to drive about a mile on a very unpaved, very unlit road before you reach your destination. Were it not for the numerous signs with arrows in the entrance that say "HAUNTED ACRES THIS WAY," you'd likely think you were in the wrong place. One thing I can very comfortably say about Haunted Acres is that it is extraordinarily dark. Like really, really dark. We were in line right behind the exact same people for 3 of the 4 attractions, and I honestly didn't get a good look at them the entire time because there's just no light. This certainly does add to the "creepy" factor. The theme of the place is like an old, abandoned wild west mining town - in the dark, it looks very much the the abandoned set of some old John Wayne movie (if John Wayne made slasher films). There are a few costumed characters roaming the grounds of the "town," sneaking up on particularly frightened teenage girls and scaring the bejeezus out of them. Among the characters was an evil Easter bunny, which I didn't entirely understand (but which I still appreciated for the camp value). Altogether there are 4 haunted attractions at this place: The Skeleton Saloon (a haunted, wIld west saloon complete with zombie bartender), the 3-D Nuclear Accident House (a black-lit, neon-spray-painted 3-D glasses-wearing affair), the Nightmare Walk (a 15-minute walk through the woods), and the Maze from Hell (a black, plywood maze with dead ends and some creepy characters inside). The quality of the four attractions varied a bit. The Nuclear Accident House was good fun - probably my favorite of the bunch. The Nightmare Walk was fun and creepy at points, but kind of campy and silly at others (case in point: the pirate ship (!) in the middle of the woods, with the ghost pirate on board yelling "ARRRRRG THIS IS MY SHIP, MATEYS, STAY AWAY," or something to that effect). I think the creepiest bit of the Nightmare Walk was when one of the actors in the hillbilly section got just a little tooooo "Deliverance" on the poor teenage boys in our small group of 4 ("You ever squealed like a pig, boy?!"). The Skeleton Saloon comes in at #3 for me, as it was short on actors but the animatronics and props were pretty good (although the ropes that visibly cordon visitors off from the various props and settings inside kind of ruin the illusion a little bit). The least thrilling one (which is sad, because it had some great potential) was the Maze from Hell. I think I saw 2 actors in there the whole time we were inside, and they didn't scare us at all. The walls were all black, with no other decorations to speak of. A haunted house with dead ends and no set path could be awesomely scary, but this one really fell short. I wouldn't spend full price to come here, but note that every Thursday night is "Bargain Night," and two adults can get in for $33 - a savings of $10. There are also Family 4-Packs available online, with which 2 adults and 2 children can get in for $65 - a savings of $7. Overall, this place was average but fun. read more

Rushed out and actors talking about personal things and not settling off props in time. Very very sad.. We bought tickets at 10pm but they were ready to close at 10pm!!! Why sell tickets at 10pm if they all expect to go home at 10:( Go see a real haunted attraction fright kingdom :( 10/12/2014 It was much better this year :) Go expecting a nice night out with the family. I am a HUGE fanatic for scary attractions come October and I make sure to go to as many as I can. My mom and I went to Haunted Acres expecting it to be awesome! After pulling in on a Friday night and seeing only a handful of cars, I assumed it would suck but tried to think that maybe people came later in the night. Unfortunately, the place really lacked anything scary whatsoever! I have been to multiple different places and the only one worth going to is Spooky World in Litchfield NH. So Haunted Acres has 5 different places to go through and they were all very lame. I get scared super easy (my son can put on a mask and chase me and I freak out) and nothing here scared me besides the chainsaw. The maze one had nobody in it, just got stuck in it. The cemetery had one or two guys in there, no masks or anything, they just made lame noises at you. The 3D house was alright, but still only one guy with a mask and it was just a rite aid mask I am sure. The outside walk was again, alright...only one mask which was the one from the movie Halloween. He was creepy but not scary. So the top of the worst was the "zombie apocalypse ride"...it was said to be really good so we paid more to try it. You go on this bus into the woods a bit and really all that happens is a few guys dressed like GI Joes yell at you and it's just humorous. They shot at pretend zombies (there were none to be seen) with cap guns basically and then line you up and put you back on another bus and repeat the same nonsense. It was a huge waste of time and money. I would advise people to not waste their time, especially for almost 30 bucks. The real experience of being scared won't come from here. It sucks, but they need better actors, way better masks and outfits, actors who will get into character and chase you...not just a little face paint. read more

Meh is right. It just wasn't that good. We went on Saturday 10/10/15. We purchased the speed pass, because we've been here before and the lines are terrible. Heads up: you can't use any coupons on speed passes, even though the coupons do not state that there are any exclusions. So if you pick up one of those Haunted Acres postcards thinking you're going to save $5, just throw it away. The worst thing about this place is the lines, and I'm not talking about wait time. From the moment you get there until the moment you leave, the lines are all a total clusterf*ck. There is no order, no rhyme or reason to anything. The line to purchase tickets is just a big blob of people, cutting each other and fighting over who is next. Hey Haunted Acres, maybe if you throw up some of the cheap rope at the ticket booth that you have for the "lines" in the park, one line for each window open, there will be less confusion. Once you get in the park, good luck. A few of the haunts don't have any type of separation of the lines (speed pass vs. regular), so your best bet is to attempt to get the attention of the ticket taker and let them know you have a speed pass. The attractions are mediocre at best. The two in the building labeled "Area 52" are super quick and not scary. They are basically the same thing, so I'm not sure why they feel the need to have two instead of just having one continuous trip through. There was a maze, which would have been good, but smack dab in the middle of the maze, we clearly interrupted a casual conversation between a bloody Jason, a Porcelain Doll, and one other character I couldn't identify. The walk through the woods that you enter under the big circus tent (way to get my hopes up for clowns...) was too long for the few scares it had. Also, I know you're trying to set the mood, but having a poorly lit path going through the woods is asking for trouble. The last attraction, a haunted walk through the woods (again), which you enter through a big gate was okay, and thankfully led us to the exit. Honestly, don't waste your money. read more

Would have been good but wait time is insane. Went on 10/18/14 a Saturday and the waits were worse than Disney world. We were only able to do two attractions as each line was over an hour long so we were there for three hours and only did two houses. By the time we walked into the house we we so tired of waiting in line for over an hour we couldn't enjoy it at all. Could have been great but spookyworld does a much better job of making sure you don't wait like that and they have more to offer for the same price. read more

Appallingly bad. I am a huge lover of Halloween and haunted hayrides, mazes, and houses and I had pretty high hopes for Haunted Acres, and this place was so disappointingly bad. Totally not worth the $25 to get in. They have some weird self monitored fire pit for the drunk guests to congregate around, the fact that they even serve beer at a haunted attraction is weird. The lines and wait times to get into the attractions are ridiculous- 20-25 minutes at each one! When you finally get to the front of the line the attendants yell rules at you like your a child. You walk through the attractions for about a minute and a half and all of the "characters" are no more than 15 years old. The entire length of time you're in the attraction they are in all seriousness just screaming at you to leave; there's no in character dialogue, no creepy vibe, its just screaming. This place has absolutely no continuity, no effort, and is a tragic loss of time and money. Take the extra 30 minute drive to Haunted Overload instead, that place is worth every penny (and it's actually less expensive). read more

Wow what a wonderful place!!!!! For years I wanted to try this place but was skeptical because of all the bad reviews! Pshhhhh this place was amazing we went last Saturday and it was raining but I'll tell you rainy days are the best to go to haunted houses there's barely any lines! Now it was scary we jumped and screamed but it was well worth it! The people that work In the haunted houses at this place do a wonderful job and deserve way better reviews! I just want to say thank you for doing a wonderful job we came from Boston for this haunting experience and we were pleased so Thank you everyone !!!!! read more

Worst place I have ever gone to, Employees are very rude was told to Fuck Off while walking thru the maze because I said ooh that's a scary costume. I will never spend my money here again and will tell family and friends about my terrible experience definitely going somewhere else next time and Haunted Acres will never get any of my money again. read more

Do not waste your money on a "speed pass" it extra $ you don't need to spend. They have 2 separate lines 1 for speed pass one for reg tickets we stood in line longer than the other lone. read more

This Place Was Awesome The Only Thing I had an Issue With was that, They are doing this as A Haunted Wild West Time Of Thing. As good as the Haunted Lab was it didn't fit the theme of the place they should get rid of that and replace it with something else. Other then that it was awesome.
