Before starting he asked what I wanted, provided suggestions when requested, repeated back to me what I wanted done, and double checked before cutting. I ended up getting about 3 inches off to fix up the ends and then some face framing. He used several products, but not too much. The products did not have a strong scent and helped my hair look great. We talked throughout the entire visit, mainly about movies and TV shows. I paid with a Groupon and he did not seem to expect a tip. I provided a cash tip and he also can accept a credit card payment/tip if you don't have cash. Only negative comment I have is that he is very rough on hair. The washing, brushing, and drying part was not enjoyable. Overall I love the cut and would recommend Bruce to others. Please pay attention to the website regarding the scheduling of your first appointment. When you make your appointment request using the online system, you must wait until you receive a confirmation. I was very aware of this and when I requested my first appointment, it was deleted and I never heard anything. I just made another appointment, and then received a confirmation. I went in for a consultation with Nicole that was thorough. It was worth the money of $30-35. Test locs were installed. She asked me about my current hair regimen, my expectations, loc size, reviewed the installation process, and loc care. The consultation was a little over 30 minutes. I went home to think about it and decided to go for it. I scheduled my loc installation which was over both a Saturday and Sunday. I was well prepared for the loc installation. Nicole gave me the remote control so I could watch whatever I wanted during the many hours. That was in November 2019 and Nicole has retied my locs about 3 times now which only takes about 1 hour. Nicole still made herself available to me after this and answered any questions I had. Nicole has always been on time for my appointments and scheduling has been a breeze. She accepts cards so you don't have to worry about getting cash out before your appointment. In regards to the other posted review, if you request a consultation the appointment isn't secure until the stylists reaches out to you to confirm. People have come to the salon while I was there for appointments that were never confirmed, but even then they will call and follow up and apologize for the confusion. Perhaps their website or platform needs some work to decrease these incidences, but I can personally say in the 6-7 months I've been at the salon I haven't seen any unprofessional behavior from either Shalina or Nicole.
