Then, when life happens and you are unavailable for a time because life is hard... You finally get the chance to call them again to schedule your treatment... They tell you so sorry but your gift certificate is expired... "NO excuses!!! Its our policy!" not worthy of your money .. dont go and please share. This supposed upscale salon has a very poor idea of customer relations . mu children purchased a $90.00 gift certificate from them for me. it was in a gift sleeve and never noticed it had an expiration date on it. we all have a busy life and didn't realize I had not used it. I went to make an appointment and they told me the gift certificate EXPIRED. I was in total disbelief that they would not honor the certificate. they took $90.00 and expected me to just expect that was it I spoke to 3 different people including the manager and they told me " it's nothing personal " are you for real?" I also asked to speak to the owner . they said they called me but I did not get the call or a message. I was however told " it wouldn't have made a difference they would not change their mind". to me they stole 90.00 and they are thieves. my husband had surgery scheduled in July that was postponed to September so I was preoccupied with his health. Larkspur is a neighborhood Salon and I still cannot believe this is how they treat their clients . my children purchased this gift certificate based on their reputation. well their reputation is wrong. they are greedy ,phony people that took advantage of me. they have NO customer respect and I feel new customers should know this. I was in retailing for many years and my father and father in law he'd businesses and I was taught to please your customer within reason. and both my fathers would have never done this as they realized this. going me a little Grace would not have cost them anything they already had my money. I have no choice but to complain because of their unreasonable attitude toward me. I am appalled that they took ythis Hard core stand. I greatly appreciated Morgan's attention to detail and she really went the extra mile to interview me on my hopes/expectations. She gave good advice on various options and I welcomed her ideas. I got a haircut from Meg a couple weeks ago and it was hands down the best salon experience I have ever had. To be fair, I typically go to Supercuts and get a simple trim. However, this time I wanted a brand new style and therefore wanted to go to somewhere a little more upscale. Meg was my hair stylist and I could not be happier with the service she provided. From washing my hair to making sure every detail was exactly how I wanted it, she was phenomenal. I knew the general style I wanted but she continued to check in with me throughout the haircut to make sure the length was what I wanted, that my bangs were the right length and style, and that I liked the end result. She also gave me her thoughts and suggestions when I asked and I was happy to get some expert input to help ease my indecision. At the end, I was very pleased with how it turned out and would not hesitate to come back here. Manicurist 'Young' dremmeled (sp?) my nails down so thin that I continue to deal with broken, split and chipped nails. She took over 2 hours to do a gel manicure that I was so frustrated told myself I'd NEVER go back there again. They persisted in calling me to offer a reschedule and do over but for what... to thin my nails down further? NO THANK YOU!!! Watch out here-high price for little value. This salon really rolls out the red carpet for new clients. I was able to choose 3 included services with the hair service I was getting. I got my brows filled in, a cuticle treatment and a lavender aroma therapy while my hair wash being washed and massaged. Anna was the stylist that was soonest available when I made my appointment. I was hesitant to try a junior stylist because I am picky with my shade of blonde and still have a bit of transition from last year's red hair color. Plus, there were no photos or posts of Anna's work on social media (note to salon - please expose all of your stylists on social media!) she did a great job. My highlights blended perfectly. She did a toner after my highlights processed which I do prefer because I like my blonde to be more ashy/cool. The hair cut was also done well. My hair feels a lot healthier after this visit. After I was done I got a welcome package and then a few days later I got a thank you card. Really great client service at this salon. Although I've only been once so far, it was a good experience and look forward to continuing to be a client. read more

I do not use the services of this Salon but it is my wife's go to. I do enjoy taking my wife there for her appointments as Penny the Boxer, who was a rescue, is usually around to hang out with. I will never go back here. I went to get about 1-2 inches cut off. I normally have short hair but I had been growing it out. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted and even indicated on my hair how much I wanted cut off. She cut off probably 4-5 inches and left my hair shorter than it has ever been. She made me look absolutely atrocious. Once my hair was wet she didn't even confirm how much length I wanted cut off, she just started cutting. At that point, there was nothing I could do except pray that the cut would soon end and I could go cry in my car. I can't believe I paid 70 dollars for a haircut that makes me look like a high school boy. This is the ugliest I've ever looked. Please for the sake of your sanity do not go to this salon. read more

Imagine my horror when my hair stylist decided to quit hair, leaving me abandoned and wondering where I would go to have my tresses cared for... until now. Enter: Larspur Salon Spa! I was referred to Larkspur from a friend who already has realized how wonderful their services are. I booked an appointment with Megan, the owner, for some hair lovin! When I walked in, the atmosphere was exhilarating! It is wonderfully decorated for indulgence. I was offered a glass of wine, my coat was taken, and I settled on the pleasant couch waiting for my appointment to begin. Megan greeted me, took me back, and we discussed my hair, my wishes, concerns, and basically a thorough hair consultation. She offered me some suggestions that coincided with my preferences, and away we went! The hair washing was amazing! Not only did she take her time and massage my scalp, but the masseuse came over and massaged my hands and arms while I was in the chair. The wash ended with a hot towel behind my neck. I did not want to even leave the chair! No need for a trim this visit, so the only the color and style for me. I cannot rave enough about this experience and how wonderful Megan and the staff were. Lucky me, they also do blowouts so I will be back regularly for those in between my visits for color and a trim. If you are in the area, you must try out Larkspur. With all of the services offered: hair, makeup, massage, facials, and all around pampering, I feel fortuante enough to have it in my neck of the woods, but if it wasn't, it would be worth the drive! read more

Super personable, knowledgeable about hair/color, and really cares about your experience at the salon. I made an appointment, and the outcome was the BEST I ever experienced! I was so so happy that I cried tears of joy instead of tears of hate! lol She's the only one who got my hair exactly the way I wanted it, those of you who know my crazy hair color journey! She surpassed all the hair colorists I went to in New York and she is the sweetest! I Love her!! She carefully listens to what you tell her and she requests pictures to be sent to her ahead of time so she knows exactly what you want and what you don't want and then also makes sure she knows all the colors you've had in your hair ( your hair color history)! I work in Raleigh and live nearish Chapel Hill, but because the esthetician Cameron is so on her game, I followed her from her prior location in central Raleigh up to Larkspur Salon & Spa. It's a lovely place, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I see why the reviews are so good after one visit. The pricing for Aveda facials is on par - if not better - than most spa/salons of this type (upscale but unpretentious). The spa rooms are very comfy, and the table is the most comfortable I've experienced. There is a little bit of residual noise from the salon, but it's very controlled as the salon and the spa are separated by a nicely-sized and very comfy sitting area. I've had oodles of facials for both relaxation and to keep my skin in good shape, and am always so relaxed and blissed-out from Cameron's technique and manner of working with me as a client. Talent, I tell you, and she cares about results. Kudos to Larkspur and Cameron. read more
