    Havana Cigar Lounge, Milwaukee.
    David P.

What a great find right here in Milwaukee County. I'm visiting from Las Vegas, hanging out with a buddy whose wife had a major surgery at St. Luke's (about 13 minutes away). This is a super venue to select a fine cigar (honestly, drew a state is my smoke of choice...whether or not you define that as "fine" ;-), enjoy a nice scotch or a Blue Moon (my buddy is a Blue Moon guy) , and hang out with some folks, kicking back from the pressures of life. As you can see from the picture, there's a mixed crowd hanging out here, which is awesome! When I walked in, IP MAN was on the big screen. Once the movie was finished, it's the Brewers versus the Pirates (go Cardinals!). Great music playing overhead, an entire wall painted with an awesome American flag mural, and a solid cigar humidor room with a wide variety of smokes. Staff is friendly, helpful, and easy-going.

Very nice walk in humidor with a great selection. Very clean and well tempered and humidified. Small Bar with comfortable seating. Good bourbon and whiskey selection. Pricing on cigars seems moderate to high. Nice ambiance.

2 of 4 smoke eaters running.

Huge selection of cigars in the humidor room, largest I've seen anywhere in Milwaukee.

A little pricey at $35, but hey they are hard to get so I thought I would grab one or two. Well I left them right where I found them. They were dry. So I became very cautious with all of them. I will definitely try it again it could have just been a flook. Not sure if they sell food there, but there were people eating in there. ‍

There seems to be a simple-minded clerk running the shop who will assist you with your purchase, but may not be able to offer any insight into their selection, which is fine by me - I usually know what I'd like when I see it. However, this guy did provide some memorable enjoyment to my visiting this place. The first time I visited was with a friend from Scottsdale and we went here to find a squirrely little guy, wired up on something who sat on his feet atop a stool and occasionally grabbed a guitar or made wildly random statements that were confusingly fun! After nearly completing my purchase near the register, he jumps up to his knees atop the stool and starts waving his hands like a orchestra conductor... this was followed immediately by the clerk bursting into a full version of FSK The Star-spangled Banner of which I think he was totally unaware. He snapped out of it rather um-yeah matter-of-factly and I was able to complete my purchase of some Anniversary Padrón 1964s. That was the start of a very wild and exciting weekend that eventually landed my friend in Hangover Purgatory (Airport Clarion) for a day when he was not allowed inside my house. The smokes were great though. I'm not sure if they still carry Padrón Anniversary, but they can always be found at Little Havana Cigar Shop if willing to make the drive.

Information on Skatterbrain is next to non-existent, but I can tell you that my "research" revealed all of their whiskeys share one thing in common (well maybe two if you include they're all fun flavors). That commonality is they all have an animal wearing sunglasses on the bottle. In the case of the Dark Chocolate banana Whiskey, it's appropriately a gorilla. Total Wine (where I purchased it) describes it as smooth Canadian whisky blended with the flavors of dark chocolate and banana with rich, fruity, and complex qualities. I question the reliability of that though as Skatterbrain spells it as "whiskey" on their bottle, which is typical of American and Irish Whiskey, but not Canadian "Whisky". I found the chocolate flavor to be stronger than the banana, but the two make an interesting combo. I wasn't bananas about it initially, but it grew on me, making it an acquired taste. I don't know how others drink this, but I found it worked nicely in my version of a "Dirty Monkey" (recipe below). Although I found this whiskey to my liking, I still prefer my go to banana rum for this type of drink. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews Doughboy Dirty Monkey: -30-50ml Dark Chocolate Banana Whiskey -5 oz milk of choice -1 tsp sugar free chocolate syrup -21g chocolate protein powder -1/4 diced large banana or 1/3 medium banana -1 tsp peanut butter -4 medium sized ice cubs -approximately 1/2 tsp xanthan gum to thicken -Blend well in a standard blender, pour and enjoy

I visited to check out their wine sections and see if I could find some bottles that aren't normally at IL's Binny's. Upon entering, they have their Cellar Selections on display. When looking at those, the wine manager, Gregory, greeted us. His service was above and beyond in helping us. Their store is organized slightly different than I'm used to with varietals and regions. Gregory helped us navigate where to find the couple of bottles we were looking for as well as make some suggestions along the way. He also offered to print out tasting sheets of the bottles we were purchasing for when we open them to enjoy. It was fun to see the staff pick signs for extra recommendations. We got some great finds and really enjoyed their selections! Tip: Most wines have a "Mix 6" deal where buying 6 or more gets you a deeper discount! Also come on the weekends for tasting samples of wines and liquors!

Don't Walk In Without an ID--Even If You're Not Buying…read more My fiancée and I were shopping for alcohol for our wedding. At checkout, she realized she had accidentally left her ID at home, so the cashier refused the sale. I was disappointed, but I understand they need to follow their policy. The frustrating part is, I drove my fiancée home, where she decided to stay. I returned to the store alone with my valid ID to complete the purchase. I was told they still wouldn't sell to me. There was no opportunity to explain that I was now shopping by myself and the conversation ended before it really began. I've been to this location many times and have been in similar situations which were handled differently, so the inconsistency was confusing. If the policy is that once a group is denied, no one from that group can return alone and complete the purchase, then that should be clearly explained. Maybe the store should only allow customers who are 21 and older inside. At least that would create a more consistent experience and avoid putting legal age customers in situations like this.
