All the rooms were decorated beautifully, and the Christmas decorations and tree added a festive mood. Our room was very comfortable and spotless. The plush robes were an added luxury. Come to the breakfast table hungry for you will be fed a delicious, gourmet, breakfast. Fresh fruit, homemade blueberry muffins, and a "Dutch baby" pancake that was so very tasty. And homemade sausage was a treat! Top that off with hot coffee as you gaze out the window looking at the lake. It is country/woodsy farmhouse all the way through, and my room was absolutely adorable with kitschy pink vintage mini sofa and matching arm chair, as well as a gold framed bed and antique wooden armoire and side tables. The building was equipped with both wireless internet and digital television for the guests. A bar downstairs served a full drinking menu as well as the restaurants wine list and a variety of craft ($4!!!!) beers. The breakfasts were lovely, served with fresh, local ingredients. Definitely some of the best eggs benedict I've ever had. A short drive to several beautiful hiking trails on the east shore of the lake as well as into Lake George Village. The room was very well appointed with everything you'd need. At 4:30am, we could see the sun start to come up over Lake George, an experience of its own with all the mountains in the background. When we got up in the morning at 8, a staff member of the Inn brought me a cup of tea up to my room when conversing with her about how my sinuses were bothering me; GREAT attention to detail and genuine care. When we arrived for breakfast in the dining hall, we were greeted again by the same staff member with fresh fruit containing sliced strawberries oranges and bananas, hot croissants and muffins. It was then followed by a hot gourmet breakfast of hot tea, spinach/egg frittatas, crispy bacon and homeade cranberry and nut bread with fresh preserves and butter. There was also fresh grapefruit juice along with water for the table. They also placed us at the front of the dining room looking over the mountain and Lake George. All the hotels in the area were $250+ a night, but I saw this one for around $120 a night. Booked up the reservations and honestly I had low expectations for such a low price on a really busy weekend of the year. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and had a nice big dresser with a tv and a window A/C. We were on the ground floor right next to the parking lot, so unloading our car was a breeze. One thing we did have to do was go outside and put a towel on top of the A/C unit because the ones from floors above were dripping water and making an incessant noise. Not a big deal was an easy solution just thought I'd mention it. I love the little rubber duck they left on the bathroom sink to say hi. The bed was pretty comfy and warm and the doors had passcodes that you set yourself instead of key cards. Great because I always lose them LOL. The restaurant that is part of the hotel was also really great. We did have one dish that we did not like and they took it back and brought us something else free of charge. The rest of the food was fantastic and the staff was extremely nice. On the weekends, they have movie nights outside and set up cornhole games. Seems like a popular local hangout because every spot in the lot was taken. The place is situated on a sleepy state road with only the occasional passing car at nighttime. There are no bright street lamps or big trucks to wake you up. I slept good. On another note, everyone was nice to my service dog and brought her water. There is lots of grass areas to take your dog to the bathroom. They have bins right outside your door which is perfect for discarding the doggy bags. The only negative thing is that I think there may have been a little crack under the door or maybe by the AC that needed to be patched because every night we had bugs flying around into our room. I'm not squeamish and I live in the woods so it didn't really bother me too much. I did have a huge crane fly come in somehow and that one scared me a little bit lol (I did finally get him out though). The next day a firefly got in and I saw him flying around the room with his abdomen aglow. I escorted the little fellow back outside. Overall it's a really nice, laid back place with good food, friendly staff, reasonable prices, and clean amenities.

At The Paw House Inn, you don't choose--you get the best of both worlds. My partner and I came up for a ski trip to Killington, and honestly, the service we received rivaled any luxury hotel we've stayed at, while Taco (our dog) got treated like royalty. Service for the Whole Pack: Mitch and Jeff are the dream team. Mitch's communication was flawless--he navigated us through some iffy weather on arrival day and acted as a top-tier concierge for the rest of the trip. He didn't just point us to a map; he gave us a locals-only tip for a public golf course that allows cross-country skiing. It was the highlight of our trip--fresh tracks for us, and off-leash freedom for Taco. Jeff, meanwhile, made us feel incredibly welcome (and made Taco his best friend with his lightning-fast treat distribution). It's rare to find hosts who care just as much about the quality of the human's dinner (sending us to Sweet Caroline's and Roots--both huge hits) as they do about the dog's happiness. The Stay: Breakfast was delicious every morning, but the real highlight was that Taco could sit right there with us. It was a lovely reminder of home--he never leaves our side until breakfast is over, and being able to keep that routine here made the trip feel incredibly special. The boarding facility is pristine, warm, and secure. We got video updates of Taco playing with his new friends (shoutout to Diggins, Blu, and Percy!) while we were skiing Killington, which let us actually relax and enjoy the slopes. The Verdict: If you want a vacation where you feel pampered and your dog has the time of his life, this is it. We're already planning our return.
