For example, she called the day of our arrival to push check-in an hour later, and when we arrived right on time, she rushed us upstairs with a quick "OK, there you go!" No tour, no orientation, no warmth. Later, when we went to the kitchen (hoping to learn more about the farm or get a lay of the land), she looked up and said, "You have questions?" I smiled and said, "So many!" -- expecting maybe a bit of that classic Vermont charm and a quick rundown of things to do. Instead, she said, "Save your questions for dinner please, I'm busy." It was such an awkward, deflating exchange that we actually considered leaving. To her credit, she does cook meals and gathers everyone around the table, which could be a lovely touch in the right hands. Next course was a banana with a lemon caramel sauce(delicious). The savory course was a poached egg on top of lentils and roasted tomatoes on top of polenta. We stayed in the Morning Glory room which had a soaking tub for two(I enjoyed this every day) with complimentary herbal bath salts. The bathroom also had radiant floor heating which was a very nice touch on cold Vermont mornings. Our bed had a pillowtop, with amazingly soft silky sheets. I wanted to take them home with me! The room also had a nice flat screen TV with two reclining wing back chairs. Mike and Nancy also offer one complimentary beer or wine every night, which was very nice. Not to mention the library with assorted older books, easy reads, and old romantic movies! Their dog, Beckit also was very fun to play with. The value- I paid 155 for one night (which is also the deposit when you book), and during the week during off peak season you get the second night at 50% off! naturally, we stayed a second night. Who could pass that up? With all the small touches that this place offers, I felt like royalty. This place is seriously like no place I have ever been, they made my fiance and I feel like family, I cant wait to come again!

Bev is the primary inn keeper -- what a firecracker! She makes the most sumptuous country breakfast imaginable, with the most gorgeous flat, dish, silverware. The inn only has 3 rooms, so you'll be sure to feel comfortable in the intimacy of the house. When we stayed, at the end of October, we became fast friends with the other couple staying there (keep in mind, we are in our 20's/30's while the couple was in their 50's/60's, but the environment was just so laid back it was difficult not to be so friendly!). The place is near a cutesy New England downtown you would only expect to see in the movies. Also near Dartmouth U and Hannover. I've been spoiled -- don't know how I could ever go to any other B&B but this one ever again!

Following a generous breakfast we strolled Norwich, lunched in Hanover (10 min drive including parking), toured King Arthur (5 min drive), and returned to enjoy a quiet evening and submit our breakfast orders.
