I have been going to the owner of this place to get my hair done for around 12 years now. I'm pretty picky about my hair (neurotic even), and have come to be a loyal customer of Stacy's through trial and error with various people. I always go to Haven, because I know that Stacy will do exactly what I'm looking for (even when I do a pretty questionable job of describing what I want). More personally, I am transgender, and have been going to Haven since long before my transition started. Stacy made me feel welcome throughout all stages of my transition, sometimes providing a much needed place of relief when the rest of the world outside was just too much to deal with. I sometimes joke when I'm leaving about how much she should be charging for her therapy fee. More recently, I have gotten more adventurous with my hair, and Stacy was right there with me for it. She understood what I wanted, and threw in a little added flare of her own. Her work made me feel like actual Fairy Folk! The dopey grin didn't leave my face for days. Stacy curls my hair on every visit, which she certainly doesn't have to do. It's just the kind of extra work she puts into everything she does to make sure I leave feeling good. I honestly wouldn't know how to begin finding somewhere to go that I like as much as this place, but hopefully I'll never need to find out! As a dedicated customer of La Vie Salon, I admit I was disappointed when their doors closed a few months ago. But faster than I could say the word "hairdresser", Stacy had a new plan underway. The moment I walked through the doors of Haven Hair Studio, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. My hair was in dire need of some TLC, and Stacy could sense my anxiety. The decor is minimal yet tasteful, the walls are painted with a calming hue, and it suits the name perfectly. Before my color, Stacy made sure I wasn't allergic to any ingredients, and she also took the time to educate me on her products and why she feels they're the best for her clients. She also taught me the proper care to help my color outlast my next cut. I have been coloring my hair red for over ten years, and this was the first time anyone had ever taken the time to do so. I am wonderfully impressed with Stacy's dedication to her craft, and after a few visits to Haven, I consider Stacy a true artist. And with that being said, I now make my future appointments while getting my hair done. I have been going to Stacy for 7 years now and I will NEVER go to anyone else!!! I had years where I bounced between stylists....just not finding the right person. And it is EXTREMELY hard for me to trust other's with my hair, as I grew up with a mom as a hairstylist. When I met Stacy, I had long blonde hair. She encouraged me to cut my hair short, saying it would lift me up as my hair was almost pulling me down. Having my hair short has been a GAME CHANGER!!! We've played with color and cut for 7 years and it has always turned out BEAUTIFUL and I have ALWAYS been happy!!!! Stacy is such a wonderful hairstylist! After so many years of being ignored by hairstylists, and them just doing what they want to do, instead of what I wanted, I finally found Stacy. Stacy listens and never does anything that you don't want her to do. When I ask for an inch to be trimmed off, an inch is trimmed off. She is so amazing at her work as well. It amazes me how efficiently she works, while still managing to have an engaging conversation with her client. The highlights she gives me always blend beautiful and naturally! I have been getting my hair done for a lot of years. I worked in NYC fashion industry, so I've had some of the best in the business work on my tresses. I had the pleasure of meeting Stacy last year at a friend's wedding and decided to give her a try. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made! I have many styling challenges (my curls have a mind of their own) and Stacy meets each and every one. Plus when I arrive I am greeted with warm smiles and big hugs, especially on the days when I'm feeling less than fabulous. I have thin, curly hair, and have had so many traumatic experiences with (often expensive) stylists over the years that I avoided getting my hair cut for a while. I have loose curls and before my haircut today it was super long and just hanging there - blah. I went to Stephanie not sure what I wanted - I just knew I needed a change and something a little more grown-up looking. I also told her I wanted something easy and that would look good with little to no product. Stephanie was super helpful with suggestions and convinced me to try a shorter and more modern look. Then she dry cut my hair -- something I've never had done before! So far so good! Followed that up with full shampoo and conditioner wash (smelled fantastic!) and then she diffused my hair to show me how it would look when it dries naturally. I love the results! While it's a bit shorter than I thought I wanted, I am so glad she talked me into it! I can still pull it into a ponytail and the texture is SO MUCH BETTER than past haircuts I've had since she thinned it a bit as she cut it - another technique I've never had used on my hair before. I love it. This is better than I was hoping for and I'm so glad to have a lot less hair as the summer heats up. If you have curly hair, you've got to go see Stephanie! On top of the fabulous haircut and enjoyable conversation, Stephanie's salon is so pretty - light and airy and natural. She was also extra careful with wiping down the surfaces and we both masked up * she was very flexible with scheduling * she listened to exactly what I wanted and how much I wanted chopped off, and checked in multiple times during the cut to make sure * she was such a nice and pleasant person to talk to * she was quick but thorough. She took a little over an hour to give me a big change * her prices are so reasonable I had to give her a 50% tip! * she taught me how to do my hair. Especially since I've been trying to not use heat any more * and she gave me samples of the products she used so I can give it a go at home. I'll be purchasing those products from her next time I go in. She now has a customer for life!

I went in Saturday last minute to Oksana. The day prior I got a hair cut of my worst nightmare. A…read morechunk of my hair was not cut, choppy, and one side was longer than the other. The stylist covered it up with the blow out she styled it with and once I straightened it I was in shambles. It was a bob and very noticeable. Oksana saved my life fixing my hair. Not only is it now even but she somehow saved my hair from being too short. It's still at a perfect bob length. She's very professional and knows what she is doing. I highly recommend Oksana and will now only be returning to see her for ALL future appointments.
