I have been going to the owner of this place to get my hair done for around 12 years now. I'm pretty picky about my hair (neurotic even), and have come to be a loyal customer of Stacy's through trial and error with various people. I always go to Haven, because I know that Stacy will do exactly what I'm looking for (even when I do a pretty questionable job of describing what I want). More personally, I am transgender, and have been going to Haven since long before my transition started. Stacy made me feel welcome throughout all stages of my transition, sometimes providing a much needed place of relief when the rest of the world outside was just too much to deal with. I sometimes joke when I'm leaving about how much she should be charging for her therapy fee. More recently, I have gotten more adventurous with my hair, and Stacy was right there with me for it. She understood what I wanted, and threw in a little added flare of her own. Her work made me feel like actual Fairy Folk! The dopey grin didn't leave my face for days. Stacy curls my hair on every visit, which she certainly doesn't have to do. It's just the kind of extra work she puts into everything she does to make sure I leave feeling good. As a dedicated customer of La Vie Salon, I admit I was disappointed when their doors closed a few months ago. But faster than I could say the word "hairdresser", Stacy had a new plan underway. I have been going to Stacy for 7 years now and I will NEVER go to anyone else!!! I had years where I bounced between stylists....just not finding the right person. And it is EXTREMELY hard for me to trust other's with my hair, as I grew up with a mom as a hairstylist. When I met Stacy, I had long blonde hair. She encouraged me to cut my hair short, saying it would lift me up as my hair was almost pulling me down. Having my hair short has been a GAME CHANGER!!! Stacy is such a wonderful hairstylist! After so many years of being ignored by hairstylists, and them just doing what they want to do, instead of what I wanted, I finally found Stacy. Stacy listens and never does anything that you don't want her to do. When I ask for an inch to be trimmed off, an inch is trimmed off. She is so amazing at her work as well. I have been getting my hair done for a lot of years. I worked in NYC fashion industry, so I've had some of the best in the business work on my tresses. I had the pleasure of meeting Stacy last year at a friend's wedding and decided to give her a try. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made! I have many styling challenges (my curls have a mind of their own) and Stacy meets each and every one.
