First I checked out Fringe online. I was impressed with their website and positive reviews, then yesterday I walked into the salon with my daughter (age 9) to schedule a haircut for her. The salon is well designed, has appealing decor and a delightful feel. We were greeted by a welcoming, friendly, and helpful woman at the desk (who I presume is the salon owner). She made it easy to get my daughter in for a hair cut today. Today, Ella did an awesome job...my daughter's cut and dutch braids with hair charms came out fresh and fun! My daughter is thrilled with the results!! Not only is Ella a wonderful stylist, she has a personality to match. She is inviting, engaging, sweet, and listens well. I went to Fringe for the first time a few weeks ago, the stylist was pleasant enough, however, he ignored my particular request for some texturizing. He said that he did not think that texturizing would work well for me, and consequently, there is no texturizing. At my age, I know what works for me. For the price that I paid, I should have been able to get the cut that I requested. My cut looked nice enough at the time, but, again, not what I requested, and I am disappointed. read more

I really need to ask my husband to take a photo of my hair color so you can see how gorgeous it is ... but he's not here and I have put this off too long. I see Christy Clark for my color, which is all-over color plus multi-dimension highlights -- BLONDE! As Christy and I got to know one another we tweaked the color at each visit, but one thing which was consistent is that it was always gorgeous, beautifully done, and looked expensive (you know what I mean). I find Christy to be an excellent listener, plus I take in my Pinterest "hair color" board to show her and she seems to really get what I'm talking about with color. My hair is (naturally) now mostly silver, so I know it's not easy to work with, and Christy does a terrific job in giving me the rich, buttery "natural" blonde I had not seen on this head in a long, long time. Laura Teal is an amazing hair stylist who has been working in the industry for 30 years. I went to her for Brazilian blowout and highlights. I am thrilled to see my hair completely transformed. My hair never looked as healthy and shiny before. Her expertise is beyond compare. I have gone to many hair stylists here in the US and in France and no one ever figured out how to work with my difficult frizzy her before Laura. I highly recommend her. Run from this salon. This is the worst salon I have ever been to. I went in for a dark root balayage and what I received was bleach all over my head. My hair is white blonde. Went in this afternoon and got highlight and a trim with Jennifer. It was an amazing experience thru and thru. Jennifer has decades of experience and you could tell. She walked me through every step, was very communicative about the process, and was sure she knew exactly what I wanted. My hair came out perfect. I came in with 6+ inches of growth from an all over color over a year ago, half bronde, half blonde leaning yellow. She blended the colors seamlessly, bringing in my natural color so it grows out much better. My hair also had a lot of build up, but between the clarifying shampoo and expert trim, it is feeling so healthy and shining beautifully! I will be sending my mom next and any friends who need a recommendation! Go see Jennifer for your next cut and color, you won't regret it! read more

I love to change my hair (subtly) and am never quite sure what to do with it, but my stylist at Fringe (Dana) always comes up with something I love. The atmosphere is casual, the staff offers beverages, and the space appears to hold a lot of clients/stylists at one time. I never feel pressured to buy the products used on my hair like other salons, but I recently bought a very reasonable holiday hair package that will go perfectly in a stocking (if I don't use it myself)! I was looking for a hair salon with good reviews since my hairstylist moved out of the state. Fringe has good reviews. I was crazy to book my appt. I had a brown hair and wanted to go for a ash blonde touch this time. I told the person who helped that I wanted a ash medium blond highlights, I emphasized that I did no want anything gold or orange on my hair and I wanted the highlights to be narrow and very disperse so it looks natural . At the end of the appt I saw my hair was still on the dark side ( the base color was a 6 ) it was very dark and the highlights were "Orange" and thicker. Exactly what I hated, I can even say that, the color I got was not too different from the color I had when my hair was being bleached. . I have a lot of hair and long. So I paid about $300 for something that I HATE. I'm fixing my hair now with blue toners to kill the brassy color it has now, it is working but it will take me a few more dying sessions to fix this. I really can't believe I had my worse experience with a person who has the best reviews and who is actually really lovely.
