It was only through the gracious help from another resident that enabled her to start getting around the place. But still minimal response from staff & management. * When she went on Hospice, they up'ed her monthly rent by about $800. When she repeatedly asked what she was getting for the $800... no response. Finally she was informed it was for her daily phone calls to check on her. I'm sure there had to be other benefits, but really... none. I cannot recommend this place.

Nav is exceptional at what she does, but more importantly, she leads with her heart. She took the time to truly know my dad and to understand what our family was going through. Once something was brought to her attention, she made sure it was addressed promptly and thoughtfully. Her kindness, patience, and gentle nature meant more to us than words can express. While there is room for improvement with the med techs, and the move-in process could benefit from clearer communication and better explanations upfront, the compassion and care we received outweighed those challenges. ED Pari was understanding, professional, and supportive during difficult moments. I am deeply grateful to Nav and the entire Vincent team for the love, support, and comfort you gave my mom and our family. Knowing that you were there--day and night--brought us peace during one of the most emotional times of our lives. When he first moved in, the community was only a couple of years old and, like many new assisted-living facilities, was working through some early growing pains. Staff turnover was higher at that time, and there were occasional glitches as the building found its rhythm. Over the past year, that has changed significantly. Quality staff have stayed, new team members have been strong additions, and many of the issues we saw early on have simply disappeared. The stability and consistency now are remarkable. What has remained steady from the beginning is the heart of the community. My dad was welcomed into a warm, supportive environment where residents truly look out for one another. The caregivers are attentive, compassionate, and incredibly dedicated -- they know the residents well and treat them with genuine respect and tenderness. It feels like a place where people are cared for, not just looked after. We visit often, and our family has had many dinners in the beautiful white-tablecloth dining room. Meals are freshly prepared by the private chef, and the food is consistently very good. The Vincent also hosts happy hours a couple of times a week with live entertainment, which is a highlight for many residents and adds to the sense of community and joy in the building. The housekeeping team keeps everything spotless, and the overall atmosphere is clean, calm, and welcoming. Their points-based care system is fair and transparent, and as my dad's needs have increased, I've found their re-evaluations thoughtful and reasonable. On-site services -- like the podiatrist and monthly dentist visits -- have been invaluable. More recently, my dad's health has declined, and we are transitioning him into the Memory Care unit and beginning hospice. It's a very emotional step for any family, but the memory care team has given us tremendous comfort. The unit is bright, clean, and staffed with people who clearly have experience and a deep understanding of cognitive decline. While moving his things, I've had the chance to observe how gently they care for the most vulnerable residents. It speaks volumes about the philosophy that guides this community. Although the surrounding neighborhood is not my favorite, the quality of life inside the building is exactly why families choose assisted living. It is safe, uplifting, and genuinely resident-centered. I've been a front-line medical professional for 30 years and toured every senior living community in Marin when preparing for my parents' transition. The Vincent stands out. They have supported my dad with dignity, kindness, and professionalism -- and they've supported our family through some difficult turns as well. Also, both of my parents had been dramatically declining for a couple of months, so we needed to act fast to get them new doctors with weekly appointments and consistent caregiving. Aegis Corte Madera is the right place for them. An excellent UCSF doctor visits the community every Tuesday, and she has improved my parents' medical care. She works closely with the nurses onsite, so there is clear communication and implementation. Both parents made trips to Marin Health (hospital), so it was not an overnight success, but their health has stabilized. I have faith in their medical care, and they are in better shape than when they lived in their home. The management is exceptionally welcoming. They made my parents feel like they belonged right away. The GM buddied up to my dad to make him comfortable. The nurses and caregivers display a lot of care and even affection, which helped my mom adapt. The management staff is deeply invested in each individual and will do whatever it takes to settle people into the community. The cost is high, and the entrance/community fee is too high. However, I could not find another option offering medical support, very comfortable living spaces, a sunny apartment with views of the Marin ridgelines, and lively community activities. When I looked at my spreadsheet, the monthly costs for almost all the facilities were very close. I bit the bullet and paid the higher community fee, and we've had an excellent outcome. I recommend Aegis.

They love when I bring our pets to visit and it really feels like a family atmosphere. The communication is good and getting better all the time with the new General Manager. What I feel is most important, is that the most of the staff has been there for over five years. That really says something about the company. The activities are really great. They include weekly field trips which include beaches, symphonies, and baseball games. Ever day there is a schedule of wonderful classes from exercise to poker! We have been rewarded with an intimate home environment, personalized (loving) care and healthy food. While her dementia continues, her quality of life has improved in every way. Elder care comes in many flavors and we recognize that Three Homes was the right one for our mother.

My mother's daily caregivers are diligent in meeting her daily needs with love and compassion. She's eating and sleeping well, and always looks peaceful, healthy, and well-groomed whenever I visit unannounced. The place is always very clean and orderly. They are regularly verbally and physically abusive. During my father's 8+ month stay there, he had bruises all over his back, sides and arms regularly. He even had a BLACK EYE. When I brought this to their attention they all became completely defensive rather than expressing the least bit of concern. Strangely, no one knew how this even happened. His legs became so swollen with fluid draining from them about which I was not informed. When I sent pics to his physician, she advised me to take him to the ER immediately. He had falls that were not tended to or even discovered for hours and never reported, which is against regulations and potentially life-threatening. He developed red, terribly itchy bumps all over his body. It was disclosed to me by one staff member that two of the female staff hit residents-- I personally have heard Philomen yelling at and scolding residents, and that was when I was present! Joy ignores residents throughout her shifts, taking naps and doesn't even look up from her phone much of the time. They are spiteful, mean and neglectful. Cleda, the owner, is very phony and duplicitous. They would smile nicely at me then say horrible things in my absence. The food is awful; cheap and far from nutritious. They rarely cook homemade meals but serve prepared, canned meals often. They are exceedingly lazy and I highly doubt any of them have gone through any special training to care for dementia. Broken handicap supports and toilet bars not repaired for months. It's a hazardous facility both literally and figuratively, physically and mentally. I had to move my father out immediately after hearing about the physical abuse going on. Cleda and her husband refused to give my remaining $3000 back. This is nowhere near a kind, nurturing, loving or safe "home" for your loved one. They ever so slightly changed their name a couple years ago, which I suspect is so that no one could access their past complaints with licensing board. I would never recommend this facility. In fact, I would recommend steering very clear of here. I am literally stupefied how they are still in business.

Even when I said no more right now they kept calling, calling and calling. Boundaries were not being respected. Then a few months later I reconsidered calling them again. When I first spoke with the Sales Representative I was very impressed. She appeared to be cheerful, forthright about pricing and seemed to listen to my care needs for my 91 year old Mother with progressive Alzheimer's. My daughter and I were taking a hiatus and I explained to her I would call her when we returned. Once again, boundaries were not acknowledged and I was hounded with more text messages while I was away on respite. I did not feel I was able to enjoy my last day where I was because of this intrusion. I was very clear I was not going to take phone calls nor text while I was away. This was the 2nd red flag. The third red flag I observed was the script would flip and pricing and assessment needs would change dramatically even before they had an opportunity to see my Mother and assess her care needs. I started feeling like I was on a used car lot to purchase a vehicle, instead of looking for a Memory Care facility. When my daughter and I finally arrived to the place to interview them and discuss my Mom's care needs, I got a whole different impression once I toured the place. What I observed was patients roaming around aimlessly throughout the facility with minimal supervision. I felt I was in the movie " One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". I was happy to see the facility could only be entered or exited with Keyes. However, once I needed to go downstairs in an elevator, to get to the main floor again, I was not escorted, nor really investigated on who I was. That was another red flag because anyone could finagle their way in between floors , without any real security measures. A staff member only looked at my cheesy stick on welcome name tag. Once I met my other family member downstairs to finish the meeting, I was introduced to the " Health and Wellness Director " who was an LVN, who had only been with the care facility for only over a month. She was not even an RN. I asked where she was before and I was given a very vague answer that she had " come from San Francisco " . Hmmmm... then she began to become very passive aggressive with the pricing sheet with regard to care needs. I noticed she would point repeatedly at the higher prices without even getting an opportunity to see my Mother. We had all agreed to do this another day. I felt like I was going to get a Tarot Card reading from her instead! Since I have had a strong sales background through my 62 years of being on this planet, I could feel the whole experience being compared to trying to sell a house. It felt like a hard sell and not it being about caring for my loved one. When they introduced us to one resident I could see the blank stare and hunger for love and attention. They looked unkempt and her clothes looked dirty. Boundaries were again not respected when they allowed this resident to "hug' my daughter. The next day I got another pitch that was flipped that maybe this place was not a good fit for my Mom. I asked why and the Sale Representative stated " your family member stated your Mom does not like to be touched" and we are a " touchy feely community " ... that immediately made my skin crawl. Everyone, including my 91 year old mother has a right to her own body autonomy. Again, another red flag because boundaries were not respected. All in all, my advice to anyone who goes to tour this place is keep your antennas up ! Eyes and ears open and use your intuition to make the right decision. Trust your gut! I'm glad I did. This is not a place to put your loved one if you really care about their welfare.
