Also a nice homemade breakfast was served on the morning we were leaving. Very nice. The king bed in St. Michael's Room was very comfortable and the private bath was acceptable. A few of the older light fixtures were dodgy. There are dining options just down Main street in Madison. We had a meal in town. Typically we stay for more than one night and the town seemed nice enough for a longer stay. JLD Lanier owner architect of this B&B and also the Lanier Mansion. Unfortunately we did not have time to stop by that historic site. The house has some history as a stop on the Underground RR according to the innkeeper. It feels remote because it's on top of a hill but you are just a couple minutes drive from downtown! The beds are so comfortable, we slept like rocks every night. The fountain in the sitting area, the beautiful art and furniture all over the space make it absolutely perfect. The space is totally separate from the main part of the house, we almost forgot it was there. Tom and Chandra are so accommodating and at one point asked us for feedback to make the place better, and we couldn't think of one single thing we would add or change (and I'm always very opinionated!). Madison is a great little town, we loved exploring the shops, the river (a new friend took us out on his amazing boat, the people here are so friendly) and the restaurants. It almost reminds you of a southern town like Savannah or New Orleans (but CLEAN!). Thank you, Tom and Chandra, can't wait to come back!!

I've always had a vision of camping out with our closest friends for the wedding weekend and this was the best way to do it. Our entire wedding party and close family were able to stay on the property, anything that went "wrong" on the big day was saved by Richwood and our coordinator. Each staff member was attentive with quick responses and transparency throughout the process. Everyone at Richwood understands that weddings are often the most important day in the couple's life and puts in the extra effort to make the day easy and carefree. Also- a huge bang for your buck! Especially for the wedding industry. Cannot recommend them enough, we are already talking about returning on day for a weekend stay with friends because we had so much fun

It's proximity to several airports made it easy for people to travel in from all over the country. The quiet country setting was the perfect backdrop for a weekend of mindfulness, meditation, and conversations. We loved being able to use the pool, the carriage house for breakout events, and even walk along the river front on the path across from the B&B. Since we were staying for one night on our way up north and one more on our way back, we decided to save some money and go with the Travel Lodge. We called to make our reservations and talked with the owner. He assured us we would have the best room for our needs. When we got there we found our room was just right and of course it was very clean even though a bit dated. That didn't matter to us. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room to move around. The bathroom was also what we needed as my mom uses a walker. We slept well and the next day we were on our way for the rest of our trip. When we reached our destination we checked into our "high end" hotel and I was astonished. The room was so small that the 2 beds took up all the space. The beds were so high that we had to go out and buy step stools just so we could get into them and so soft that I felt I was rolling out half the time. The bathroom was so tiny that mom could not close the door with her walker. Plus the toilet was so low to the ground we could barely get up, When we went to get breakfast it was a brown bag. When we were heading back home I could not wait to get back to the Travel Lodge where the room made sense and was comfortable. There may not be all the amenities of the "high end" hotels, but we were more comfortable and treated with great kindness. As for me and my family, the Travel Lodge is our halfway stopping point. The hosts certainly put plenty of thought into the setup and amenities provided. We went to the grocery store and picked up what we wanted to cook and all necessary cookware was provided. We had a great overnight escape from Louisville and would/will certainly go back!

They eliminated pads to make the places more roomy... concrete pads are new, flat, and huge. Blackstone grills, nice fire pits with chairs, nice tables with chairs and umbrellas... It's super clean, well maintained... the grounds are impressive. This is way underrated as it now stands. It's definitely amoung the top 3 or 4 percent of RV Resorts you will find. We've stayed at places costing almost twice this that were not nearly as nice. We've stayed at dozens and dozens of places.
