Also a nice homemade breakfast was served on the morning we were leaving. Very nice. The king bed in St. Michael's Room was very comfortable and the private bath was acceptable. A few of the older light fixtures were dodgy. There are dining options just down Main street in Madison. We had a meal in town. Typically we stay for more than one night and the town seemed nice enough for a longer stay. JLD Lanier owner architect of this B&B and also the Lanier Mansion. Unfortunately we did not have time to stop by that historic site. The house has some history as a stop on the Underground RR according to the innkeeper. I've always had a vision of camping out with our closest friends for the wedding weekend and this was the best way to do it. Our entire wedding party and close family were able to stay on the property, anything that went "wrong" on the big day was saved by Richwood and our coordinator. Each staff member was attentive with quick responses and transparency throughout the process. Everyone at Richwood understands that weddings are often the most important day in the couple's life and puts in the extra effort to make the day easy and carefree. Also- a huge bang for your buck! The space is totally separate from the main part of the house, we almost forgot it was there. Tom and Chandra are so accommodating and at one point asked us for feedback to make the place better, and we couldn't think of one single thing we would add or change (and I'm always very opinionated!). Madison is a great little town, we loved exploring the shops, the river (a new friend took us out on his amazing boat, the people here are so friendly) and the restaurants.
