While I love my unit I am amazed that there are homeowner fees to live here. The elevator has NEVER seen a lysol wipe. 25 dogs, people cleaning up poop and who knows what that is on all of the walls but never the evidence of a fresh clean wipe down. DO NOT touch the buttons!! The 'cleaning' people vaccum faithfully over the carpet stains weekly and never disturb the spider webs in the railings and corners. Since the halls don't have windows you pray for some carpet fresh to ward off the smell of closed - upness and I don't care what they say, someone in this building does restaurant prep, I'll bet the board of health will agree once they smell the building. I can name the dishes every week and it starts at 11pm....yum nauseating and no sleep. When mentioned to the office how I almost vomit every Thursday at 3am from the overpowering smell, I am told it's because of the many ethnicities in the building. Do not call me when I put chitterlings in a crockpot on low and leave for the day/weekend. Lastly, no one seems to be concerned about the poor dog that whimpers, yaps & whines ALL HOURS ALL THE TIME. When trying to address it with the office there is no real solution offered. I am so flustered because I love my place and who wants to move becuase Sasquatch won't act like they live above humans and the restuarant people leave their dog barking and yapping ALL DAY LONG. I often forget this is a condo and not apartment but it could be worse, at least there are no rodents & roaches in this building. read more

I have to amend what I wrote a year ago. At the time, the condo fee was high but tolerable. I kept my mouth shut about it because I lived in a beautiful condo with a pool, and that was exactly what I wanted. Now, because of the brutal winter we endured, each unit owner has to pay a steep assessment, or additional fee, to cover the out-of-budget snow-removal costs. This is on top of the already high condo fees. They say we will only have to pay the assessment for six months, then our condo fees will go back to normal. Yeah right. Not holding my breath on that one. This will bankrupt me. I'm paying out the nose for a sole privilege: a swimming pool. Which isn't that great of a pool to begin with, as half of it sits in the shade, which means that that end of the pool is usually too cold to swim in. These buildings were built in the late 60s and are showing their age, plus they suffer from a dearth of amenities: no handicapped ramps (if you're in a wheelchair, forget about moving here), gym, or clubhouse. I don't fault the condo association so much for these deficiencies (although I think these facilities could be added), as no one gave consideration to these things in 1967. Forget about adding them now, as the association has bigger fish to fry with the snow-removal assessment. I love my condo but will probably have to part with it, and wish me luck selling it, for Haverford Hill's monstrous condo fees seem to be a well-known fact among potential condo buyers. I lived in Haverford Hill Condos as a renter for a few years. I really feel for the people who own units in this community. My neighbors were always very kind and looked out for everyone. The management office on the other hand treated everyone like a renter. To access their office you had to buzz into the E building and then buzz again to get into their office. The second time you buzzed they acted like you never talked to them seconds before. Many nasty emails from Debbie in the management office, always accusing residents of making a mess of the place, one time something about used condoms in trees. Make sure you get an up to date copy of the rules and regs before closing or signing a lease, you'll need a while to read through thick booklet. As for the pool, I personally never used it because I could only pick up passes between the specific hours of M-F 11:30am and 3:30pm and one evening during that week between 5:30p and 7:30p. In addition to the rudeness of the management office, they were also negligent of repairs needed for the buildings. Units on the top floor would be leaking water and the management office's suggestion was to find a bigger bucket as they wouldn't be fixing the leaks for another few months until the weather was nicer. read more

I agree with other reviews that have been provided. The people who live at Haverford Hills are nice and friendly. The management office, however, is not "user-friendly" for the residents. Office hours are very limited and seem to serve the residents who do not have full-time, day jobs. If you want to see a representative of management in person, you need to take time off of work (if you work regular day-time M-F work hours). They do not have evening hours with exception of one or two days out of the year. Residents often receive communications that are negative, accusatory and threatening. Policies and procedures are inconsistently applied. With exception of the budget and election meetings, residents are unable to attend board meetings (no open forum). The condo fees are very high considering the lack of services. There is no community room or communal meeting space. Residents often receive regular assessments for community improvements and snow assessments. Haverford Hills can be a great place to live, but I think a new management company needs to be considered. I am happy that we will be moving soon! read more

I've lived in Haverford Hill for 2 years now. Since I moved in, they have pointed the buildings, trimmed the trees, fixed up the playground, fixed up the pool, built a flower box in the parking lot, professionally shampooed all of the carpets in the hallways, painted the hallways, cleaned the gutters, fixed the roofs, and they are now repaving the parking lots. They are never done with fixing or cleaning or improving something. It is a well run, clean, nice place to live. I would give it 5 stars but it is not completely handicap accessible. That is the only thing that I don't like. read more

This place is horrible, roach infested in K building. Management here is absolutely terrible. The hallways, laundry room, elevator, and stairways are disgusting, never cleaned, and smells like mildew. A bunch of dirtballs live in this complex. I can't wait to get outta here! read more

Haverford Hill Condos is a horrible place to live! The lighting, carpeting, painting, and doors probably haven't been updated or replaced in many, many years! The hallways are dark, gloomy and smell! Management is awful! The pool is located in the back of the building by smelly garbage cans, in the woods filled with ticks everywhere. You can't even swim because of the amount of ticks. The playground area is horrendous; the swings are broken, the bench is broken and there is an area for dog waste only a few feet away. Stay as from away from this place as you can! There are lots of renters, so the amount of people coming and going is ridiculous. Not safe at all. read more

Hahahaha, why am I laughing you ask, because this condominium is a joke. I just wish YELP could make a 0 star button, and even still that is too good for this place. I still live here since I was in kindergarten till my sophomore year in high school. The rules in this place is outrageous, the buildings suck, and the only thing they try to do is suck the money out of many residents in this apartment. They fine for the dumbest things, doesn't fix any problem or at least they do the worst job they can. The main office is mean and unfair. Not a place for kids, don't let that playground fool you, cause I lived here as a kid. All the staff are mean to you and kids. I get a vibe of a place like animal farm or 1984 here. This place is the complete opposite of a utopia. Don't move here, ever. I could go for days, but I think you understand not to go here. I never hated something as much as this place, and when I grow up, I will never live in a place like this. Thank you. read more

Adding to my review after reading negative feed back on management...etc. I have only had good experiences with Debbie. She communicates to the residents frequently with emails and notices. They promote community spirit and there are community bbq's a couple times a year..etc. She is friendly and gets things done. Not an easy feat running this big place. I have a friend who lives in a condo in KOP who can't ever get in touch with his management co or get a response..EVER. In response to the roach infestation in bldg K which I too live in - I have never had problems with roaches in the 14 years I have been living here. Perhaps the person who had one was filthy. The person who had their car towed for not having a permit - sorry this happened but did you read the condo docs and by laws the seller is required to give you prior to sale? It is in there. Read the materials. If you are a renter then it was your landlords responsibility to tell you about the permit. Parking permits are needed for a reasons due to families who own multiple cars and there is limited parking in the back and yes rule breakers so towing is necessary. The carpet and paint is re-done every few years and paint is touched up frequently. Carpets are vacuumed weekly and shampooed twice a year. Shit happens and walls get scraped up and people track in mud. All in all....good bang for the buck for this spacious condo in Havertown which is an excellent community and great schools. My mortgage and condo fee is cheaper than any rent or mortgage anywhere else in Havertown for the space. 2 bed 2 bath 1288 sf for less than $1,200 and did I mention the gigantic closets... read more

Not quite sure what Betty sees here, but we have had a much different experience. This development has a great potential to be an asset to Havertown and Haverford Township. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood, but feels very sub-standard here. We bought a 2/2 unit about a year ago. The unit is lovely and just the right size. Our unit is well kept and clean, however, stepping out into common areas is disappointing to say the least. The carpeting is old torn and filthy, as it has not been cleaned since moving here. The 'weekly' cleaning is a joke. The laundry facility appears in violation of safety codes. Our waste dumpsters and recycling bin are consistently overflowing with refuse. When addressing any issues directly with the property management, one is met with an abrasive, rude and almost verbally assaultive property manager, whom does not treat an owner as a professional person who basically works for them. Upon meeting with the management company's regional manager, we were basically told that our expectations are too high (wanting a clean well-kept and maintained building is too high of a standard for this 'condo') and we should lower our expectations. If you would like to OWN an APARTMENT this is your place. There is an embedded HOA board and management does not care that this property is not up to condominium standards. There is NO sense of community. Owner/neighbors have expressed to us feeling intimidated by and disrespected by management for so long that they no longer attend HOA meetings. There is very poor governance here. It is a shame and waste of a decent property where decent people attempt to live in peace. Did I mention the drug dealing and drug storage/use in the back lots and barbeque grove? Wake-up HH!! Truly a shame! read more
