They were able to work with us on the same deal the Florida store offered that weekend, and we got a wonderful discount. I have bought items from this store for over 30 years. purchased 3 king mattresses. Wasn't told I couldn't return them and my husband doesn't like firmness. Sales rep states "it was on the receipt that it couldn't be return." Just to start with everything being so delayed and for things to take forever to get here. Steve got all of the items in store that were available for delivery within 2 weeks in 30 minutes over the phone (as requested) he answered my 100 questions and as we were leaving to check somewhere else out knowing we wanted to make a purchase that day he was incredible even as we were leaving. We returned the same night and made the sale! Amazing experience! We have not received the order, it will be coming a week from now but great experience. Last winter I started the process to purchase a sofa. At the time, the sales rep told me things were delayed and it might be as long as three months. I made a down payment and went on my way. A month later they called and said sorry but more delays for another couple of months, still no problem. Then another call with an extended delay until as late as the fall; Big Problem for me if delayed that long. I explained my situation and the sales rep listened and refunded my deposit. All along they were very upfront with the delays and when it became a problem for me, they fixed it. Great service! All of the sales people were most gracious and understanding with no pushback at all. We have been dealing with this store for over twenty years and because of this kind of service will continue. read more

Beth was our salesperson. While I understand that they were busy, you don't just stop in the middle of a conversation and walk away to help another client with whom you were working. You say, Excuse me, you keep looking I'll be right back. Or something! She walked away. She lost that sale. She also did not give full disclosure on the product we did purchase. She said it was returned because of the color. It was returned and reduced because it was BROKEN! I still feel like we should have gotten a much more reduced price on the item. Purchased furniture in 2019 and was sold the warranty on all of our equipment. Told by the rep that even if the furniture was intentionally damaged by our children it would still be covered because the warranty is that good. No questions asked. Attempt to file a claim with their 3rd party contractor who doesn't honor their warranty and denied claim. Waste of over 1000 dollars on a service they won't honor. Don't waste your time or money at this location. Gave plenty of time and opportunity for Ashley to make this right and resolve the issue but they would rather blame their warranty company and the warranty company blames Ashley all while the customer isnt taken care of. read more

Very unwelcoming towards those that walk in with service dogs. He did ask, but after we confirmed that our dog is a service dog, the man walks away. Then proceeds to come to us a short time later to FINALLY ask what we were looking for, he told us they encouraged mask. I cannot wear a mask as I truly have breathing issues. We did not feel welcomed in the store at all. And I promise I wasn't rude about it and told him we didn't feel welcomed. He said thank you for coming in, did not encourage us to stay. The saleswoman who helped us blatantly disregarded the mask policy posted on their website and at the door. The entire time we were being helped by her she had her mask on her ears but pulled down completely below her chin, and she kept getting uncomfortably close to us. All four of us, including our young children, were wearing our masks per the store policy. And then today when we returned the fabric samples we checked out literally none of the employees, including the same woman from our previous visit, were wearing their masks. This shows blatant disrespect for customer health and safety. We'll never buy a thing from this store. read more

Buyer beware. My husband and I built our dream home last year and purchased all new furniture for the entire house from Haverty's. I have attached a screenshot of the final amount spent - $30,500.60. We ordered the furniture on 8/15/2020. We paid cash for the entire order. We were initially given delivery dates for 3 separate deliveries, for October 2020, November 2020, and December 2020. The dates kept getting pushed out. We were unable to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, nor my birthday at our brand new home due to the delivery issues. I have attached a screenshot of the email regarding our final delivery date of 3/17/2021, which is over 6 months from our purchase date. They force you into purchasing this Guardsmen service agreement and tout it's wonderful, ask no questions, we will take care of you concept. It's total garbage. And BEWARE, the 1 year warranty starts on your PURCHASE DATE, not your delivery date, which is a business practice I find particularly dishonorable. We own a small business, and the warranty starts from the date you actually are able to use the item you purchased. We just found this out yesterday when we tried to get them to help us out on the $1199.99 Magellan rug we purchased for our bedroom. The rug sheds terribly. We thought it would eventually stop but it never has, it fills a canister up in our Dyson cordless V-10 vac, EVERY SINGLE DAY. We contacted our salesperson ILKA BAKOS-BLANCO, and she said she would check on it and call us back. She did, and advised us that our warranty was up since it is more than a year since we purchased it, but could care less that we haven't had the rug for a year by no means. She said that she told us it was a wool rug and would shed, which is false. Interestingly, she claims she didn't remember what rugs we purchased, but somehow remembered (supposedly) telling us that the rug was wool and would shed. She instructed us to rake the rug instead of vacuuming it. That doesn't solve the problem of the $1199.99 rug looking horrible. She then said well you can spill a glass of wine on it and call the 800 number for Guardsman. That is a completely unethical recommendation from her. My husband was very upset with her about this call, but never cursed at all, he did raise his voice because of frustration, but she terminated the call, saying that she didn't like him raising his voice with her. Guess what ILKA, you are a salesperson, and obviously you care nothing about service after the sale, or any future sales from a customer who spent over $30K with you. You shouldn't be a salesperson if you don't know how to handle a customer's concerns professionally. You don't just get to hang up because you don't like the negative parts of your job, only the part that puts money in your pocket. After all the money we spent, after putting up with 6 months of delays and ILKA either lying or irresponsibly quoting false delivery dates, after all of the accounting issues we experienced (another screenshot attached of one of many of those emails), one would hope or I guess in this case, wish, that we would be treated with respect and offered some kind of assistance other than being told " I told you the rug would shed!" and "rake it don't vacuum it". ILKA even bragged during the call about what she had done for us by looking up on the internet how to care for a wool rug! Gee thanks, I can use the internet myself. We would never do business with Haverty's again. We will also be writing a letter to corporation headquarters due to her unethical recommendation of how to abuse the Guardsmen warranty by intentionally spilling something on the rug. read more

Went in to browse for sectionals today with my fiancé since we'll be moving in together after our wedding this weekend. I explained to the sales lady that I was looking for a sectional around the $1100 range, fully aware that Havertys Furniture is typically pricier. While we can afford an expensive piece of furniture, my fiancé and I chose to stick with that price range because we are big time savers and have found plenty of sectionals we like in that price range. It would've been great if she told us they didn't have anything in that price range and we would've gladly left. Instead she took us over to a $2400 sectional then a $1600 sectional. When I told her we weren't interested she proceeded to tell us that "Havertys is for long term people, like families. Not for students and friends." It was pretty insulting considering she assumed my fiancé and I were "friends" looking to move in together. I would've appreciated if she would've asked about our situation or simply looked down at the engagement ring on my fiancé's finger before making a comment like that. read more

I'm looking for a nice recliner and I actually found the one I'd like to order in store today ,but I WILL NOT FROM Athens.I needed the floor model plugged in so I could recline and see the support it provided my back .I must've inconvenienced them or yet others business was much more important than ours .Two sales people left us standing and No one returned for me ask questions so I had to leave .All sales staff appeared more interesTed in anyone but my family . We are having similar issues with poor customer service. In a 10-day period, we were given four different dates -- ranging from 2 days to 4 months -- re expected delivery date of our furniture. Mass confusion, referral to the 1-800 customer-lack-of-service number, no response from the salesperson to my email inquiries, etc. We still don't know where the table is and when they can get it to Athens. In this day of computerized inventory, is it too much to get simple, consistent answers to our questions? "Ahhhh, I see here that we have a table like the one you ordered in XYZ location. We can have it for you here in Athens on ABC date. Thank you so much for shopping with Haverty's." Apparently that is too much to expect. read more

I have spent well over 5,000 dollars for a full bedroom set, and within six months the grain of the mohagany wood finish has begun to surface some wood flaws, and it shows up as scratches and you can actually see where the so call carpenter tried to correct the situation. But to no avail I am totally upset...They would not replace the furniture stated I was the one that scratched the furniture, even with a experienced carpenter that I paid for to acknowledge and confirm my findings...No one in the customer service has experience in carpentry and yet they take pictures to place blame and I am very unhappy, and I will never shop at Haverty's again....I did not receive good customer service, they need customer training.......I am still stuck with the furniture and more flaws are appearing......UGLY SITE! read more

I am writing this after Experiencing the most unprofessional customer service from the assistant store manager of the store. I purchased a living-room group from them a bit over three months ago, to include a entertainment unit spending over 5000.00 for 4 pieces. The furniture started having quality issues with down feathers starting to come out of cushions and sticking us when seated. Havertys of course said I would have to reselect due to them no longer offering my current grouping due to "quality" issues. I have taken several days off from my job to allow so called repairmen to come on three different occasions for light kit issue with entertainment unit, tear in chair from box knife, and now feathers! I go reselect spend additional 1100.00 to get what the store manager stated was best quality grouping in store, and wouldn't you know...The deliver the sofa today, and when placing down on floor, the leg broke! So, long story short, assistant managers reply "did you call customer service", REALLY...shouldn't you be providing some type of customer service. Be advised Havertys is a chain furniture store who really doesn't provide quality furnishings with top shelf customer service, they really just want the sale, and then you can deal with 1-800 whoever answers the phone...Havertys can be certain I will tell anyone I get a chance to, to avoid doing business with them. read more
