We have bought several items from Haverty's over the past five years and have found the company to be efficient, helpful and the furniture is exceptional. On occasion, there has been a shipping delay, but I knew that we had ordered a custom piece ( a large L-shaped desk) and it could take a while. Once, when our bedroom furniture was delivered, the delivery man found a scratch and the next day a gentleman came and repaired it. I could barely see it the first time and after his repair the scratch is totally invisible! Yes, Haverty's furniture is expensive, but the quality and the customer service make it worth it! Do not trust these people. They will sell you on their guarantees but will not follow through. Their furniture is no better than the next place. I promise you that. We bought a recliner and was not happy with it because the damn thing was crooked. They sent this guy out to take pictures and declared it was km. Boom! There goes the warranty! I couldn't believe all these low stars when I saw them. I purchased my dinning room table, rug, and lamps from Haverty's last November and they were nothing but amazing to me. I came in with many pictures on my phone to give the designer and idea of what I was dealing with and needed. She was so helpful and patient with me. The sales lady I first met when I walked in, she must have walked around that place with me 3 or 4 times. I was having a hard time making a decision on the lamps I wanted. And when the young men came to deliver everything they were so nice. They put everything together, and packed up all the trash from boxes and were gone in a flash. Still to this day my dinning room table and stuff looks amazing and is holding up perfectly. I'll be back in once this virus is gone to buy a new bed and console table. read more

Went in to the store to talk to manager about the problems with delivery and why I was going to cancel order. She apologized profusely and let me know that they had some unusual problems with the particular "helper" on that delivery run. Apparently, he had some sort of "episode" and started throwing furniture off the truck! She offered me a 10% discount on the order and expedited delivery, so we'll see how that pans out. read more

I bought a marble table with a bench and chairs and a complete double chaise sectional from Havertys. Yes, the items were a tad expensive, however the quality of the furniture that I received was more than worth it. The reason for only three stars is because if a customer uses Haverty's credit to pay for anything, the repayment methods are outdated. If you want to pay by phone, a person has to give their card information to another person over the phone. The website does not accept payment. Otherwise, there is snail mail. I hate companied that have not adjusted to 2017. We are in a time where u can tap ur phone against a pos for payment. It is very inconvenient to have to go into Haverty's monthly to make a payment. read more

Extremely poor experience with Haverty's - staff rude and and confused - avoid at all costs!

Sales person was fine however delivery person out of Montgomery was absolutely horrible. Delivered a TV stand missing the glass failed to put together. Called customer service several times no answers worst possible experience I've had with any furniture company. Will never do business with them again. Don't expect to find anything less than $500 here. Almost everything they have is high quality, expensive furniture that they claim are "on sale." Although they do look nice, I have little doubt that they are waaay overpriced in terms of true value. Buyer beware! If I could give a -5 rating, that's what I would give Haverty's! I've never experience such awful customer service! This will be a long review so if you don't have 10 minutes, might want to skip this. Sure wish I had read these reviews before going to what I thought was a top notch furniture store to purchase two leather sofas and a recliner. I was willing to spend more than I normally would to get good furniture to carry me through my retirement. I live out of town and made a special trip to Columbus to go to Haverty's which has turned out to be a huge mistake. My suggestion is to shop local at the smaller, family owned businesses where you get good customer service and your business is appreciated. Definitely not the case with Haverty's. Sales rep told me he would match the price of furniture I found at a competitor. When he showed me the final cost, I was charged more than quoted. I questioned him about it and got some cockamamie story that he couldn't match the price because i added a recliner to my order. So the price for 2 sofas went up because i bought more? Not sure why but i agreed to it anyway. Delivery was quoted to be $179 and would be delivered Tuesday so I said we would pick the furniture up on Thursday to save some money. It was pouring rain on Thursday so I called and scheduled to have it delivered on Tuesday and was quoted $299.99 for delivery. When I questioned the cost, the person I was talking to asked her manager and they agreed to deliver for $199. Then she told me two items weren't in stock!!!! All three items were scheduled to be picked up and they didn't even have it in stock and nobody bothered to tell me. I cancelled the whole order. But it gets even better! The salesman called me back on Monday and said they would deliver for free if I wouldn't cancel the order. So like a fool, I agreed. Salesman told me truck on Tuesday was full but they could deliver any other day, i just needed to tell them when to deliver. I said any day this week was fine but i didn't want to wait until next week. Then he said I would have to call the store back to give them my credit card info to place the order again before I could get a firm delivery date. So after placing the order again, i was told it would be Tuesday of next week before they can deliver but "District manager is trying to find another truck to deliver but as of now, it will be Tuesday of next week". He said he would call me back to confirm when they can deliver. On Saturday after never hearing back from him, I called to confirm when the items would be delivered. After talking to him and questioning why he didn't call me back, he said he was off on Thursday and Friday and just found out that morning that it would be Tuesday. By this point, I'm really fed up with his continuous excuses so I told him to cancel the order and issue a credit AGAIN. He kept talking gibberish and telling me I didn't have to cancel the order to which I replied "I know I don't have to cancel the order but I AM CHOOSING TO CANCEL THE ORDER!" Now keep in mind, today is Friday and no credit has shown up on my card yet. I've called the store three times to ask about it and again am getting excuses. I talked to the store manager twice today and asked for proof that the credit has been issued and I wish I could attach a copy of what I was sent. It's clearly my order with notes made that it was "deleted on August 14". Again, August 14 was Wednesday and I cancelled the order on Saturday and their excuse is that it takes 3-5 business days for the credit to show up. When I cancelled the order the first time, there was a pending credit on my account immediately so not sure why it's taking so long this time. UPDATE. Credit finally showed up on my credit card today and was dated aug 15 so I guess they did do what they said on the credit even though it doesn't make sense why it never showed as pending on my account. If you've read this far, I hope you get a sense of the customer service you can expect at Haverty's. I wish I had never heard the name! read more

Horrible experience. On first delivery attempt furniture was severely damaged. I had them take everything back, on second delivery they brought the complete wrong items. They even brought a headboard with no footboard that could not be put together unless footboard is present- absolutely ridiculous!. I cancelled the entire 6000$ order! Customer service will sympathize with you but I don't want sympathy I want my bedroom set as agreed apon.. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!? read more

My wife and I bought REAL Top Grain leather sofa,chair, TEMPURPEDIC Mattress and a king size bedroom set. We absolutely love it. Aweful service, nice furniture. Salesman told me it would be delivered in a couple of weeks but different story after I paid - they then said it would be over two months. Finally got it delivered, then moved the dresser out from the wall several weeks later to plug something in a power outlet and one of the legs FELL OFF! They put NO screws in it whatsoever. I checked and there are two screw holes for each leg but the delivery guys only uses ONE per leg, except they didn't even put a screw in one of the legs - they just wedged it underneath. Guess the just threw them out to keep from spending two minutes to actually screw them in. Wow is all I can say. I called and they told me I needed to send them a picture of it for them to do anything about it. I said are you kidding me? Well I guess I can pull the leg back off and take a picture of that. *UPDATE - well they sent someone out without me having to take a picture of the unattached leg. He was very nice but came out alone so I had to help him by holding up the dresser while he found a screw that would fit and attached it. He could not believe they did that and admitted there should be two screws in each leg. He offered but it would have taken all afternoon for the two of us to try to attach screws on 4 different pieces of furniture. I just said don't worry about it. Hopefully it will hold up. Still irks me to have to take off work and go through the hassle when you pay so much for quality furniture. read more

I am a repeat customer and all prior experiences/purchases would earn 5 star reviews. Super nice sales person and designer but I will never again purchase custom items from Haverty's. I purchased a settee and chair, selected different coordinating fabrics for each. The settee and non custom items were delivered in the time frame stated for custom pieces but the chair 'did not make it to the warehouse'...A couple of weeks later a chair was finally delivered but with the wrong fabric. So nearly 4 months have passed and I still don't have the chair as ordered and payed for..I am at their mercy because I have the settee with custom fabric that can't be returned and will be an ordeal to try to find another chair to coordinate as well as the fabric selected for chair that has never arrived. I don't want apologies and excuses that the manufacturer makes thousands of chairs' Since they made the error, Havertys should demand the manufacturer expedite correcting it..Beware of shopping custom pieces at Haverty's. read more

High-priced, poor quality. I will never return to shop at Havertys. I ordered a couch and cushions ripped on the seam less than a year after purchase. They replaced the cushions. However the couch shows wear and tear and aging less than a year after purchase. We later ordered a glider and Ottoman. The glider was broken from day one. They won't give a refund. They don't care about your opinion of their company. Do not order from Havertys! read more
