The staff are always pleasant and serve up your order quickly. At some times they will make a window service line available as well. The shop has a great variety of flavors, and rotates a few seasonal options through. My favorite is Coconut during the summer. In the past it has been a bit of a unicorn flavor here, but this summer I've found it on my past 3 visits! My second choice is the Peanut Butter Fantasy. Prices seem to be on par for premium ice cream. They do accept credit cards as well. There are a few tables inside the shop if you care to sit and enjoy your ice cream inside. They have around 50 ice cream flavors, plus some sorbets, sherberts, and yogurts. We were so intrigued by one of their flavors that we both ordered it. I mean, c'mon, when have you ever seen Banana Chocolate Chip on a menu? It was excellent. Smooth and creamy with a definite banana flavor and plenty of chocolate chips. A Kiddie portion was a pricey $6.95, but in all fairness, that Kiddie portion was equal in size to some of the "small" scoops we've had over the years at various ice cream joints. Big Daddy has four locations in the Wells, Ogunquit, and Kennebunkport area, so if you're up this way during the summer, you won't be too far from experiencing an experience with Big Daddy!

I got Peanut butter pie, Lemon meringue, Salty caramel truffle, Seriously s'mores, Blueberry crumble, Boston blackout. My favorite was still the peanut butter pie of course but I was so surprised to find out how much I enjoyed the lemon meringue and blueberry crumble. It reminds me of my childhood, very nostalgic. The Goldenrod is a York landmark. I believe it has been around since 1896. It is an old fashioned restaurant, ice cream parlor and confectionery. Their saltwater taffy is the very best. We always take home 4-5 one pound boxes:2 for us and 2-3 for family and friends. My husband's favorites are the chocolate, the creamsicle and lime. Friends and family love the peanut butter, banana and vanilla. I always choose blueberry, molasses and their peanut butter. The staff is top notch:welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The Goldenrod is one of my favorite places to visit in Maine!
