Massage is not really there business, was on the cheaper side but wasn't all that great , and didn't get a full hour

Disclaimer: Tanning is *NOT* my thing. At all. Ever. However, I have been cursed with burn-prone, easily-blistered and pasty Midwestern flesh so I have used their tanning services for the last two years prior to escaping to Florida during the winter. As much as I hate tanning, burning is worse. They have five different tanning beds ranging from 100% UVA to 100% UBV with different percentages in the middle. I have used the Red Pepper (20%/80%) and the Maui (50%/50%). Their packages are very confusing; you purchase a certain number of points and each costs points. The better the bed the more expensive the session. I've used the Pepper for the first week and then transitioned to the Maui. The Maui does not mess around. When they recommend lotion you really, really do. It dries my skin out like nothing I have ever experienced. The salon is clean and well-maintained and the desk staff is consistently happy and courteous. They have headphones with your choice of four different Sirius stations. It has taken about a month of tanning every other to every third day and cost about a $150 to get a really deep golden brown and delicious tan but it's worked. I've had no burning at all in Florida either year so I would say it's worth it. read more

I have no stars to give. I have my wedding in 4 days. Destination wedding so it is out of town. I spent some of my day preparing for my spray tan. Exfoliating, no tight clothing (including bra), no deodorant, no lotion etc. Only to find out when i arrive at my appointment that they could not do it. Because the person that does the spray tan is not there. I arrived at my appointment on time. The staff was rude when trying to find a solution for me. Making me feel like I was the one in the wrong. I was originally told that there were openings the entire next day but when it came time to schedule it...that was not the case. I would have to wait until that following evening. Now, if you spray tan, you know that means you would have to start the prepping process all over again. The person behind the counter told me she just tried to call me. So my question is...why at the time of my appointment is that when it was noticed they would not be able to accommodate me? And when I looked at my phone to see if I received a call, I asked "what number did you call? I have no missed calls" the response was "i dialed the wrong number" . They had the right number but did not call that. In all fairness after seeing my frustration they did call "the person" that does the spray tans to see if she could fit me in the next morning. And they did find me an appointment. However I will not be going. With a wedding in 4 days...I think it best to go elsewhere. To go somewhere that can figure the schedule. read more

The employees are extremely nice and sociable. They showed me gratitude for showing up 15 minutes early. I knew to do this because I read their site but not everyone does that. I think they should let their customers know to come early in the text/ voice message that they send the day before the appointment- that way they won't get backed up. I was expecting some water when i arrived due to the fact that getting a massage will flush out toxins so water before and after a massage is usually a great idea. The room was okay. It had no bathroom so I had no place to use the bathroom once I was inside the room (although of course they DO have a bathroom-- just outside) and I felt as if there could have been a better place for my belongings besides placing it all on a chair. Had I not have methodically placed my boots under the chair, I doubt there would have been space for the masseuse to walk (its such a tiny room). There were three blankets on top of me....I don't know why...but I was sweating before the masseuse walked in. Also, there was a heating pad that really boiled me down before my massage started. This made it also really distracting to me once other parts of my body was exposed to the room temperature (which seemed to drop down quite a bit-- from 80 degrees dramatically to a windy 70 degrees!). Also, the masseuse had FROZEN HANDS! I normally like a firm massage but i felt as if the masseuse really did not have proper knowledge of muscles and anatomy in general. She used her elbow and forearm going perpendicular to the back of my ribs repeatedly....which really hurts and continues to hurt right now as I write! I definitely don't remember requesting a bone massage.............and I know I should have said something but I was hoping that she would have noticed from how tense I was from her ramming into my bones. I can't see my back at the moment but I feel like its probably bruised even though I don't bruise easily. It was great that they made me fill out a questionnaire before the massage started. I appreciate those who like to listen and are willing to work and understand their customers. I wrote down that I wanted extra time on my lower back. The masseuse spent a long time on my back and I never recalled her actually working on my ACTUAL lower back....she had a lot of rib time which was so uncomfortable that I just wanted it to end. Also, when she massaged my legs-- she really uncovered my whole side which made me feel really naked and really cold. I felt it was unnecessary-- it was kind of odd. Throughout the whole massage, I could hear the front door ding as people walked in and out of the place. Also, it seemed really quite noisy in the hallway and I found myself also unable to relax due to the masseuse pumping her lotion bottle every time she needed some lotion for the massage-- which was quite a lot! Don't they have a better method these days??! The head rest for the massage bed was really smoothering...it was messy and I think it was supposed to cover my eyes involuntarily--- I've only seen massage beds with a head rest thing for the forehead-- so that was kind of frustrating when I got out of the bed and realized that I had imprints of the smoothering whole-face-rest of the bed on my face...I kind of looked like a clown! This is the second massage location I have ever been to. I have utilized massage facilities at Calla Lily Spa in Afton, MN and they are amazing! I would highly recommend them although they are around $60 for 1hr...but really quite worth it. I found myself thinking that I really needed a massage there after this experience! After months and months of trying to get in for a massage and being blown off at least a dozen times and canceled on, I am done with this place. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Not worth all the BS. You are much better off scheduling with massage in a much more professional business. read more
