I recently went to the salon on a Saturday and, as expected, it was busy. There was a lineup to be checked in and a new customer was being set up. But, as I walked in, Madison immediately greeted me. This place is amazing. I use to tan at palm beach but moved to the area and needed to find a new tanning place. Not only is Italian tan memberships cheaper than palm beach the tanning beds are much stronger. I didn't know the beds could get this strong. I'm loving it. The customer service is also great. signed up today as we are going on a tropical vacation in a month. Now, I have anxiety about places like this as I'm overweight and don't really fit the typical view of people who tan (beautiful young women!) so trying a new place really makes me anxious as the place I normally went to closed. This place is closest to my house and the gal working today 2/4 made me feel welcome and comfortable. I'm glad you can just pay for a month as all I need at this point is a monthly vacation prep tan. I don't like when places charge you a fee along with the package. I got a monthly and will plan to come to use stand ups and higher intensity beds the week before we leave. I tanner today for 9 on a stand up and I can already tell a difference. I really think they have great beds and bulbs. I will update when I'm done with my monthly! Not sure why I was anxious about going here but I highly recommend it and would go here anytime I needed a tan! read more

It's ok. I come here if I need a morale booster and it's the closest to my home. Pros: closest to my house. They do not push product or packages (I think they have notes in my account not to bring it up lol) Cons: no website... hmmm kinda spendy, and the service has never been outstanding, 75% of the time the service is "okay" acceptable. The other 25% it's been horrible! I just try to mind my own business go in and out as fast as possible. In conclusion I find this place to be convenient. Not anything more not a thing less. I've been coming to this place for over 5 years now whenever I'm in town, and it is by far my favorite tanning salon I have ever been to. I've lived in 3 different states and I've never been to a salon with nicer beds, cleaner facilities, and friendlier staff. Everyone is always so helpful here, and their beds are amazing. They have 5 different levels, with top-of-the-line beds. I highly recommend trying their level 5 beds, I always get noticeably darker without burning. But all of their beds are fantastic. Italian Tan is by far my favorite place to get spray tans too. I never get blotchy or orangey and the girls always give me great tips for getting an even tan and making it last as long as possible. They also supply their own goggles which is such a lifesaver because I always forget mine. They have a huge selection of lotion in all price ranges and the girls are always so helpful in explaining the benefits of each one and helping me find the best one for me. I've referred so many of my friends and family here and everyone loves this place, I've never heard a less than outstanding review from any of them. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone needing a little Mediterranean vacation away from our Minnesota sun. read more

Nice beds!!!! Italian Tan always tries to upsale you with going to a stronger bed or buying a better lotion. Beds have been broken lately so some will move you up a level but some act like they cannot make the effort. I had high hopes for this place because the decor is pretty chic, the sweet employees are all cute and tan, and the prices are more expensive than most of the places in San Diego. But, it was mostly a disappointment. I've learned over the years that Norvell is my fave brand, and I called around to see who used Norvell and just went with the first place I found. I first got sprayed there last month for an upcoming girl's trip, and after hearing the explanations of the diff types of spray tan the salon offers, I went with the classic. I am pretty pasty in normal life, so it doesn't take much to notice a difference in color. But there was virtually zero difference. I didn't have time to go back in, because I waited til the day before I flew out (like I always do), and this is the first time I've had an issue. Super disappointed and could've flushed $30 down the toilet on something a lot more productive, but whatever. Since I was in town for another week following that event, I went back one more time prior to another event. Maybe it was just a fluke, right? Upon telling the girl that it wasn't a good experience, she sold me on the Venetian, and added a primer and something else to my package. $50 later, and my tan was much better. But the machine didn't equally distribute the tan and so I had some weird marks on my body. Unlike many booths that have sprayers that go around your body, this booth requires you to turn around and step on different numbers with your feet. Which is fine except that only half the numbers were visible, so that was awesome. The Venetian did stay on much better. Upon seeing my pastiness, if the sales girl had somehow offered to remedy the experience by throwing in a free primer or something, I probably wouldn't be so annoyed with this place. I'm guessing client satisfaction must not be the top priority if there isn't a standard protocol for an inevitable situation like mine though. Oh well. Overall, it seems to be an overpriced basic spray tan facility with a cute ambiance. I won't go back. read more

I am a new customer of Italian Tan and I have to say I was very impressed!! Right when I entered the salon I was greeted by a very upbeat friendly associate. Every question I had about tanning was answered while I was here. They also have much more to offer then any other tanning salon I've been too. They have the spray tan booth, by hand spray tans, red light therapy and a hydration station. I LOVE the Hydration Station, it's so soothing and I can already tell my skin is so much softer than before. Thank you guys!!! I'll be telling all of my friends about you! read more

Italian Tan is my absolute favorite! They have amazing employees who look out for your best interest. They provide you with knowledge before letting you run off with a bottle of lotion. They are overall well rounded and know what you NEED. They are also very friendly and treat you with respect. It's definitely been my favorite place to tan! this salon is aweful. Some of the employees talk crap about their customers behind their back so if your a customer there they are probably talking badly about you and they also basically stole money out of my account because I missed the account hold form 1 day late they still charged me close to $70 because I was one day late and when I asked for my money back because I didnt even use the salon for 2 months all I was asking for was 1 month payment returned to my account but now I'm here making a bad review. I had to cancel my bank card just so they would stop taking my money. This wasn't the first time they charged me for something that they shouldn't have and they didnt give me my money back either time. The owners are trash and so is their salon but if you want someone to steal your money then this is the salon for you. read more

I use to tan at Palm Beach Tan, yeah big mistake. For better beds, more beds, and quality in service for half the price. The owner knows his shit, and loves the industry. You want color? Yeah three sessions and I'm already switching my foundation shade. Easy and quick. Beds are extremely well kept. They have such a huge variety in lotions too. I use a tekton bronzer and facial lotion, trust me when I say I'm a whole new woman. Plus you can't convince me tan fat doesn't look better than pale fat. My stretch marks are practically disappearing plus my acne scars are gone. My tan covers everything up perfectly. Plus here they come up with custom blends for your spray. I had a wedding, said I need to get a fast spray for just a more even look. Went into their mystic with a hand made blend, came out looking fabulous. No orange, just a nice cool tone tan that went with my skin tone. perfection, highly recommend coming here. read more

I am fairly new to tanning but checked out quite a few places before I ultimately decided to commit to pay for a month of unlimited tanning sessions. Italian tan will let you pay monthly with or without a membership which I found ideal. Some places want you to, without fully trying out their services, commit to a membership and 2 month payment up front upon your first session. How does one know they want to continue using services somewhere if they haven't had the full experience of said services? The gals that work here have all been extremely friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable of the products they sell and how to use them. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was also very pleasant and showed a genuine interest in who I was. Thank you for a wonderful, friendly and clean place for me to get a little 'me' time. With my very busy and hectic work schedule, I also love the fact that you are open late. This place has great staff and good beds and pretty good prices. I've been to quite a few different places to tan in my years and this one has been one of my favorites. I love how even after just a month they know who I am and what I want to do when I walk in. Makes you feel pampered! I started coming here for a monthly spray tan package, then I became a gold monthly member, and I just upgraded again. They're diamond package is basically the best thing to get- you can have a spa day every day. If you do the hydro bed, then want to move to tanning or red light, you'll get a robe and a bag to carry your stuff between rooms (which are already held for you, so you don't have to wait) They also usually run good deals on lotions and spray tans and such. I can definitely recommend. I give four stars instead of five simply because of the prices not exactly matching the quality of atmosphere / some minor cleanliness. I came here for a Mystic spray tan and was not impressed. The employee didn't explain my options very well so I didn't get the results I was expecting and it was WAY over priced. I was charged $43 for the same spray tan that a salon down the street charges $15 for. I will not be coming back. read more

Overall, I've had a good experience and found one of the employees (didn't catch her name but very skinny, long dark brown hair) to be highly professional and friendly. There is one employee (blonde who wears a side braid sometimes) who did not seem to know what she was doing and put me in a bed with new bulbs but didn't tell me and also did not credit me for the correct package. I did get it corrected by the skinny brown-haired woman, however, so I will go back. I know one employee doesn't make a business and I appreciate the brown haired lady's professionalism. Wow! What a change! Went here a year ago and it was in ill repair and the staff was even worse... Tried again tonight and was AMAZED! New beds and bulbs along with great updates. Ashley helped me and gave me a tour. She was very knowledgeable and friendly! And the owner came out and introduced himself and thanked me for my business. I've had a poor experience here since April of this year. All new staff, seldom anyone at the counter when you walk in and if not, it can take 5-10 minutes before anyone appears. Today I went in at 8:20 am and the doors were locked. They are supposed to open at 8:00 am. I called at 9:10 am, no answer on the phone. When I do get helped, they are very pushy about selling product. read more

When she was training another employee she said something about how adding new people then didn't finish.. Do not go here if you are interested in the Mystic Tan! Their machine brakes down all the time! Just a couple weeks ago their machine broke down every other week when I went in for the Mystic. Not to mention their horrible at reordering their supplies for the Mystic Tan. Almost every time I come in they say their out of medium shade or dark shade and that they only have one shade available for you to pick from. Once their out of something it takes weeks for them to restock their supplies....this has happened so much that after a year and half of having a membership with them, I've decided enough is enough and switched to another tanning salon down the street from me. read more
