Add a little sunshine to your skin and get sprayed! Everyone here is always smiling and friendly. I will admit the first time I went, I was a little apprehensive. Standing in your choice of covering, having someone spray tanner on you isn't the most natural thing to do but the result is SO much better than a booth and it really doesn't seem weird once you get started because they're always friendly. I visited Glow Lounge again yesterday for another tan for another wedding that I'll be a guest at - I had a great experience the first round and had bought a two pack. Getting checked in and in the room was a breeze again, with everything re-explained even though they knew I was a returner - which was great! I had a girl named Chris(?) this time and she was super friendly. I had said I wanted the same color as last time, but no face spray and she went to work. Her presence was great and friendly, we even joked a bit when I accidentally knocked my elbow at the screen behind and she helped clean me up (while assuring me it wouldn't hurt my tan). When I got home I had realized I seemed much more bronze than last time. As it developed I got really dark - which didn't happen last time. I trusted the process and went to bed. In the morning I was scary dark, but after rinsing it looks like I'm the same color as last time! My star deduction is for my hands and feet - they ended up weirdly patchy & crease-y this time which I was disappointed about. One of the main reasons I'll get a spray tan for occasions is because I'm bad at tanning my hands and feet. Luckily, I don't think this is very noticeable. Just a little disappointed in the lack of consistency from the tan I got in July. I have a couple of wedding next year that I'll have to think about where I'll get a tan. I'm not ruling out Glow Lounge since the color & heated gun is still great, but the lack of consistency gives me some nerves. UPDATE: It's been about a week and this tan was just so much different than my last one. It's been wearing down incredibly patchy and I was even nervous day-of the wedding that my arms and legs looked splotchy. I felt like my color came out a little more orangey/not as natural as last time. My feet and hands also slowly looked worse leading up to the event. Ohh I just love the glow lounge!!! Staff is bomb. I have seen a handful of different technicians/spray artists and they've all been amazing. They do a very thorough training with each employee so you won't be surprised by someone's method or anything like that. I love using the accelerator for $10 if I am going to have a busy day and potentially sweat or something! But for days I'm home working, the regular spray works awesome. The space is so cute and welcoming and the staff is amazing at recommending how to prepare and care for your spray afterwards. They have products available that I stock up on if I have a special event (will be doing this for my destination wedding 100%!!). I'm an avoid foam tanner at home, and have tried at least 6 brands. I have some favorites for this but I gotta admit, nothing compares to a spray by the glow lounge!!! If you haven't been, go try it!! It makes you feel amazing all around. I was very clear I wanted a natural glow and Emma listened perfectly. I got soooo many compliments about how nice and tan I looked and people were surprised it was fake! I was beyond happy with how it came out and will be returning. The tan did not rub off on my clothes or sheets or have an odd smell which I really appreciated. Staff was very nice! My color is Orange-ish and too dark in some areas and not dark enough in others. My left palm was sprayed/has color and both wrists are weirdly dark. There was supposed to be a color analysis to pick the right shade. That didn't happen. I'm not sure what happened. read more

I had a great experience at The Glow Lounge! I get nervous with spray tans, normally. As a black biracial woman, my skin is naturally what some would consider tan. So it can be tricky to give my skin a deeper brown town, rather than an orange tone. The Glow Lounge seems to get my natural, sun-kissed desire right! Each woman I've met there makes you feel comfortable and informed on the process. The space is nice and inviting. Depending on which way you're driving from, it can be a bit confusing. The Glow Lounge is right off a neighborhood, so it's easy to question if you're in the right place. Just follow your GPS and you'll be just fine. Last and probably my favorite thing about the spray tans here is that they fade NATURALLY and not splotchy. They also offer more products to sustain your tan, etc. I don't get spray tans much, bet when I do - I come here. read more

I tried on wedding dresses yesterday so I got a spray tan the day before and I don't think I can go back to regular spray tan booths... - Customized color: they pick a tone that matches your natural undertones so if you're more olive or more golden or more pink, they'll pick a shade that will look natural on you (no orange tans here!) - No brassy knuckles: booth spray tans spray a single even layer over everything so you end up with dark brown/orange knuckles, fingers, toes, and ankles. Here they spray SO lightly around your hands and feet (and elbows and knees) that it's enough to blend everything without making your hands look too dark. - Comfort and privacy: I tend to keep my top on when I leave the house, so I was a little nervous to be ~*No0d*~ here, but Krin made me feel very comfortable and didn't make it weird. - Color Development: TRUST ME YOU GUYS, even if you get the express tan, the tan keeps developing and WILL get darker! I got the express (can rinse after 5-6 hr instead of 10-12) and I was so disappointed after that I didn't look very tan, but the next morning I looked fantastic and it was exactly what I had asked for! So don't worry if it doesn't seem dark enough after the first shower. Awesome people, awesome results. I had been to Glow Lounge in the past with good results, but this most recent was quite honestly the worst tan I've ever received. I had two weddings back to back weekends and asked for a medium tan. I ended up with the darkest orange blotchy skin color I've ever had. My hands and feet were awfully splotchy and all over I was ridiculously dark and uneven. I ended up ordering spray tan remover and an exfoliating glove because at the first wedding I was the brunt of several jokes about how bad my spray tan was. I waited to post a review until I got another spray tan elsewhere to compare and there was no comparison. It was really poorly done and caused a lot of stress being in two weddings. As a former (many moons ago) employee of Glow Lounge/Mollie's, I try to get my spray tans at Glow Lounge. It has been awhile since I needed a really good one, BUT I am officiating a wedding at the beginning of Sept and wanted to trial run my tan. Just so happened last weekend was to be the bachelorette weekend-perfect timing! As I am fairly pale, but have lots of freckles, I asked Carlyn (spelling?) to give me a tan "that looked like I've spent a ton of time outside this summer in Minnesota, but not like I've been in the tropics for weeks". And she delivered. The tan didn't budge after a day half submerged in a Wisconsin river (floating) and today (Tuesday), it looks A-MAZING - still. I wanted to love this and I initially did, but then I noticed my ankles and legs and the orange. I kind of felt like someone cut my legs off and placed an Oompa Loompa's legs on me. For some reason, the color developed differently on my legs and ankles whereas the rest of my body developed more realistically. I called the next day to ask what I might have done wrong. I had used mineral-oil free wash, shampoo, and followed proper drying directions. The girl I spoke with apologized and was baffled since I was sprayed with the lightest shade of tan, but yet my legs were crazy different (as pictured). She recommended using lemon and oil, shaving, and exfoliating a few times a day. I did that and I wouldn't recommend using lemon juice-that burns so much after exfoliating and shaving. The place is cute and the people working are so sweet and cute, so I might try it again and just wash my legs almost immediately after getting sprayed. Unfortunately, for a while, I will be super pale until I find another solution. Scrubbing my legs almost raw to get out in public is not really ideal. read more

This wasn't gonna work for me since I work until 5PM Monday through Friday and I was on a tight schedule. After communicating with me and working out the inconvenience they were able to keep my appointment time as it was and gave me a discount, which I greatly appreciated! I got my first spray tan ever at the St. Paul location last week. Staff was very kind and made me feel very comfortable! I was overall quite satisfied with my tan, but noticed a couple days later that my legs were basically a different color than everything else. More orange looking, especially in bright sunlight. However it was less noticeable in muted lighting and I was doing a trial for my wedding, so it won't bother me because my legs will be hidden anyways! Will be returning. read more

My tan looked nice at first, however after only 2 hours I noticed my hands weren't colored the same as the rest and I had a missed streak down both my arms. The staff was great and friendly, however I kept calling to reach someone about my problems and left a voicemail but receieved no call back. BIG fan of this place! I came to the Glow Lounge so that I could get a spray tan for wedding dress shopping. I had never had a spray tan before, and Molly made me feel very comfortable and explained everything to me ahead of time. She mixed a custom tan formula after I told her about my skin tone (olive, I get pretty dark in the summers) and that I didn't want to be too unnatural or summery-looking (my wedding is in November). This place is great! I have been to the Edina and Excelsior locations, and all the staff is very professional and kind. My tan was beautiful, even and natural looking. The only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is each time I have gotten a tan it fades poorly. They say it will slowly fade away but mine always comes off in blotches, even when I keep up with moisturizing. I would still recommend them though! read more

I was not impressed with the Glow Lounge despite many good reviews. Lindsay missed a few spots. I also was very orange on my hands. Toward the end of the week, the tan was flaking and splotchy. I immediately called Krin and she told me Molly would call me. Molly never called. In fact, they didn't return any of my emails or phone calls. I was very disappointed as I had spent a lot of money on their products. Horrible customer service. I also was told by my family and friends that I looked orange. I was very unhappy. I did find another place and my tan is natural and flawless and the customer service is remarkable. Too bad they messed up because I am a loyal customer and I spend a lot of money when treated well.
