This is my second time using this moving company and if I ever have to move again these are the guys I will call. Both times they were punctual and professional. My first move was from a three story loft to a one story apartment, and even with the hassle of the stairs they were quick! They also provide the truck which is awesome. When we arrived to my new place they were super patient when things did not go as smoothly as planned, and still worked quickly to finish up my move in the allotted time. This most recent move is no exception. Right on time, and even though I only asked for 2 guys, 3 arrived to help me. Keith, Lorenzo and Jay were super efficient, and very careful with both my things and the walls! They did a great job navigating the narrrow, convoluted stairs and didn't damage my long couch. Hawkboyz Moving were the best movers I've had ever! They were efficient and finished in 3 hours. They wrapped up my furniture with their own blankets and shrink wrapped them securely. In my past experience with other moving companies they charge for that. Speaking of charges, they have great affordable pricing. Lee and Andrew were friendly, respectful and hard working. It doesn't matter what you're saying, your movers did some damage and I was cut a check for $100 for scrap weight. Your customer service is less that forthcoming and I regret using your company, that's all there is to it. I paid about $900 to have my things dented and treated less than respectfully. Workers are vey slow with an attitude. They wedged the elevator door open until it did not work anymore. Then they had to use the stairs from the 3rd floor. Charged me for the extra time too. They left our items unattended on the street the whole time. I would NOT recommend this company. read more

We moved last month and let's just say we feel totally ripped off. Paid the $235 for the 3 hours but ended up lasting 9 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment! The movers were nice however moved at a slow pace. We get we had stairs but come on! $850 grand total and we even tipped (because we felt it was right to do). Not to mention I had to sit and think after the fact what service we really got. I didn't want to put a review but it was on my mind to do the right thing. A lesson learned for sure and never again will use them. I feel ripped off from at least $500 I will never see again. read more

We moved on a terribly cold and wet day in December and could not be happier to have hired Hawkboyz! Our movers Anthony and Ashton called us earlier in the day to ask if they could start a half hour early and showed up exactly when they said they would. They were professional, kind, careful, and extremely fast! Our move was just over 4 hours and we were pro-rated exactly as outlined when we surpassed our 3 hour time frame. I was extremely pleased with not only the services, but the ease of setting up the appointment, getting in touch with the company, and paying! Please read the other reviews, the references to broken items and the Groupon (scam) that this guy is running. He asks you to call Groupon back and cancel. Also the reviews about being slow and the clock starting when they arrive even though they don't load a thing for about 30 minutes. Reading the reviews of 1-2 stars definitely takes me back the experience of my move. Possibly he has relatives that have given good reviews but not actually witnessed his service?? Just a thought. I've used HawkBoyz several times, this last time was astounding, I paid for 3 hours but these guys move so fast I almost think I really didn't need that much time and although I love the speed I wanted to give them enough time to prep things and break if they needed but these guys were on the move nonstop from arrival to completion. Terrible experience for my family using this company. The movers showed up to our apartment to move us into our new home. One mover was extremely efficient the other one not so much. My son and I ended up having to help them load and unload because the process was taking longer than anticipated. When we finally arrived to our home the movers dropped our refrigerator and cracked the motherboard!! I work out of town so this left my wife and three kids at home with no way to refrigerate food. She had to buy a cooler, ice and salvage whatever she could. We contacted the owner of the company and he informed us that he was only liable to pay us 30 cents a pound for our damaged refrigerator. I'm sure you know how difficult it is to find a refrigerator for $300. Luckily we were able to scramble and find a used refrigerator on Facebook marketplace and only asked Hawkboyz to pick up the new refrigerator and discard the broken one. They agreed to do so and never showed up and stopped responding to all of our communication. The owner (Maurice) later suggested that we use the "Dolly" app to get our refrigerator since he had done what he was required to do legally and already paid out the claim. He also texted that the additional 100 dollars he sent was out of the goodness of his heart!! Feeding three kids, getting new movers and rebuying perished food is way more than you provided sir! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!! read more

I thought Hawkboyz did a great job, we had a fairly easy move but they still wrapped anything we wanted and nothing was damaged or broken, Keith and James were very nice and moved at a great pace, I was very satisfied and would use them again and recommend them to friends. read more

My wife and I use movers every time we move. We're young so we move often. I have never experienced such lazy, slow movers before. They show up and piddle paddle around looking in the rooms they have to load up. Keep in mind these services are timed. I was paying $200 for 3 hours. So they tell us they can't take anything in our garage. Because it's not boxed up. Not true. We had plenty of boxes in the garage that needed to go but no time to argue. So we let them load the bedroom. (We lived with my grandparents). Not only did they refuse to take anything that wasn't in an enclosed box, they carried boxes and bags of things into the garage and left it there. There's about 6 boxes and 4 bags of things they carried out halfway to the truck and just left it. I can't even begin to describe to you how slow they were. The other movers we've had in the past, we paid for 2 hours. The last time we moved we were going from a 3rd floor apartment, stopped to unload at a storage building, then unloaded at a house. Only took 2 hours. Today we moved from 1st floor to 1st floor 1.2 miles apart and it took them every second of the 3 hours. When they were all finished, I looked at all of the bags and boxes and they were torn apart. How that happened, I have no idea. But with all of the times I've used movers before I've never had that problem. They mentioned getting tipped more than once.... Then when they were done they more or less asked for one. We paid with a credit card, and they stood around hinting at getting a tip from me, then walked out of the apartment and said to my wife on the porch "I thought we did a good job for you guys?" And stood there staring at her waiting for a tip. She had to say thank you and come in the house so they'd leave. Completely uncomfortable. I will never ever use hawkboyz again. I usually use Able Body Movers and you better believe next time we move I'll be calling them again. I wish I could've given them 0 stars. Yelp should really work on that. Overall, they did a good job. Showed up on time and finished within the expected time-frame. The guys were polite, however; two things that can be improved. 1. I called because I had seen them on groupon and the person I spoke to "offered" me to not just pay the groupon rate to them and not actually buy the groupon. I understand that this is done so that they do not need to give any % of my payment to groupon. I was informed that they would charge me a credit card fee (?) which ultimately made it way easier and cheaper to just buy the groupon. 2. If I was the owner I would consider some kind of "dress-code" for the movers. One of the guys had pajamas pants and the other one had his jeans so far down that is showed a little too much. Yet again, they did an overall good job and with a few minor improvements I would have ranked them higher. read more

These guys saved the day for me! When one company completely ditched me with no call backs or reasons why they didn't show up when I needed to be moved (*cough* Point A to B moving), Hawkboyz Moving pulled through without even a 1-day notice. He tried to change the terms of the Groupon thinking that I bought the coupon and saying I didn't read the fine print. Our experience with this company was nothing less than HORRIFIC. One of the gentleman they sent was apparently high from the night before, (according to his coworkers). We caught him doing nothing in the middle of the move & at one point even lying down. He was arguing with his coworkers throughout the whole move as well, which cost us more time for the move because there wasn't any sort of team work, which is obviously required in order to have the most efficient move. Finally we ended up contacting the owner & letting him know that we did not want this guy working on the job anymore. I was informed by the other guys that this particular guy had been fired more than once & that the owner continues to bring him back on. Once the other 2 gentlemen had the truck fully loaded up, the guy who was fired started threatening me & my family about getting paid (mind you, payment is between him & his employer- the owner). So, once again I called the owner back, & told him that this guy was not allowed to ride in the truck with the other 2 gentlemen to our new place of residence because we were not comfortable with him knowing where we lived at this point. On our way to our new residence, as the truck followed us, the owner assured me that he would take care of us & the cost of this move. Once we arrived, we went & got the 2 guys who were left food & water, because at this point we were now 10 hours in since the move became a 2-man move, rather than a 3-man move. Upon our arrival back from the food run, we found out that my $500 end table had been unproperly packed & broken. They have offered me $30 for it, even though I have a receipt for the end table. At the end of the day, The move ended up taking 12 hours, & they compensated for five. The point is this move should never have taken that long in the first place had we had a 3-man move like we ordered. This company advertises on their website about all this different Insurance, turns out they are talking about the truck. I have hired plenty of movers in the past & never had an issue. This is an initial review for this company and I will update as I see fit. I booked a reservation for today with an arrival time between 1:30pm-2:30pm which was confirmed this morning by the owner. The communication was great and the owner was very accommodating up until/after the confirmation. It's is now ONE HOUR past my scheduled time and I mean NO ONE is answering the phone! Not the owner via phone and email and surely not my driver via call and text. You can say I am livid! I have a cable appointment at my new place at 6 which I might have to cancel now! This is all that I have for now. I will update once I hear back from SOMEONE ANYONE. Update #1: I have FINALLY spoke to my driver at 3:45pm (1 hour and 15 minutes past their ARRIVAL time) stating that they are still moving the previous house and will be about another 20-30minutes to finish packing up HER house and will not be able to arrive at my house until about 6:00pm (3 hours and 30 minutes past their ARRIVAL time). Not going to work for reasons mentioned in initial post. I was told they can come at 8:00am tomorrow (Sunday) instead. I asked the driver for the owner to call me, so far nothing. I will continue to update as this drags along. read more

They worked non stop and so quick that we had time to spare even though they moved us to another city! The owner of this company is a professional. His team has moved me a few times. He was even along for the move once and gave me a really great experience in a super stressful situation. Up until my move last year, I was loyal to them and recommended them many times to others. I am now moving again and the memories of my last experience all came back. So, I felt compelled to come here and look at reviews. I see that there is a rash of low reviews starting around the time that i had my one and only poor experience. I also see that there are some great reviews (the owner and his business deserve every good one). It appears that the one star reviews, most likely is portraying the same two guys that came to help me move the last time and all of the other workers are great and dedicated to his team and vision. I think that the owner accidentally hired a couple of bad fits for his company (looks like by the reviews he hasn't been able to concretely track them down and fire them yet) These two don't care about his business or reputation. These things happen. Please give the owner a break - its not him. Anyone that has been in a position in which they are head or representative of a company knows just how devastating a "bad hire" can be to your organization. I wont shade on the details of what happened..... just know it was enough for me to lose confidence. If Mr. Gamble let me know he got rid of the problem, I would come back no questions asked. Hopefully this post will bring light to the problem employees that Mr. Gamble is most likely already working to find a way to eliminate. Even though i had a less than ideal experience the last time, I still believe in this company and its owner, I appreciate and respect Mr. Gambles hard work and determination to make means for himself as an entrepreneur. read more

This was by far the worst experience I've had with movers. First off, they were 4hrs late for my move. Then they were unprepared to dis-assemble my dining room table, washer and dryer. Now granted, it had weathered earlier that morning and I understand a slight delay due to weather. But 4hrs late and I feel like had I not contacted them 10min before my scheduled time, They wouldn't have communicated with me about being late. I did not have them re-assemble anything. I order to prevent going over the 3hr limit, I literally helped them unload my things. It was a one bedroom apartment being moved from 2nd floor to first floor. Half the furniture was left at dumpster of old place and I still had to help to prevent from going over 3hrs. There was no discount offered. Then to top it off, one of the movers had the audacity to ask for gratuity. Not a good experience at all. read more

They showed up right on time, and were professional. They came in and got right to work. I was concerned at first that the truck they brought was not large enough for my 4 bdrm home, but they assured me that it would work. I was pleased with how things were going up to the point that they were unable to fit large pieces of furniture in the truck, because they used valuable truck space with smaller boxers, and large trash bags (packed with my sheets/ towels/ etc). I voiced my frustration, but there was no way to fix the problem without unloading the truck, and wasting valuable time. So a half of a 60" dining table, 2 dining chairs, large mirror, patio furniture, grill, ladders were not moved in the moving truck. None of these items fit in my small SUV (as the small boxes and bags would) thus the need for a moving truck/ movers. I was very annoyed over that issue but, was forced to get over it. Then came the unpacking. . . So far I have unpacked 5 broken plates, and a broken platter. From the looks of the boxes, they were crushed under the weight of other items. I was finally able to get the other half of the dining room table to the new home today, set it up and it now has multiple new scratches (table was 2.5 yrs old, and only had 1-2 small scratches on it). I am very disappointed, and would not use this company again. read more

It's long- but worth the read!!!! To begin, id like to explain that Lee, the owner, is very nice and down to earth- don't let that fool you. He however, is not the one actually performing the services. I had a 1 bedroom apartment move to another apartment and what should have taken and hour and a half to two hours max, took over 3. I didn't even have bedroom furniture besides a bed!! I noticed that no one was coming upstairs for about 25 minutes to continue loading and I went down to find that ALL THREE movers were sitting in the truck "just chillin" as they said. 25 minutes at least that they spent hanging out. In addition to this, they also left out two boxes of my things at the bottom staircase of my old apartment and locked up the truck and never even noticed!! Ridiculous. When they FINALLY get to my new apartment which mind you they were 25 minutes later than me (they followed me!) they apparently took a detour; one of their wives brought two of them lunch. So they took it upon themselves to take another break. Several of my items were smashed, several boxes were torn, and they were for lack of a better word, extremely lazy and rude. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

So disappointed with our movers, if I could give a -1 star review I would. From the moment they showed up, they complained the entire time. They didn't wrap our furniture well, causing several dings and scratches both on our furniture and on the floors of our old and new places. I moved a couch, dresser, two tables, serval boxes and more by myself. When I wasn't helping one of the men asked why I stopped. He was so unprofessional and caused the move to be twice as long as it should. We came down stairs several times to find them stalling, and not loading elevators. They then had me cancel the Groupon and had me booked at direct so they could avoid any fees booked through Groupon. The movers showed up an hour and a half late and damaged several items. I want to be fair and concise about why I gave them 1 star. Let's start with our appointment. They confirmed that they would arrive between 8 and 9am, but to my surprise, they showed up at 730ish. The night before we were obviously finalizing our packing and make last minute preparations to make the move as fast as possible. After all, we had 3 hours and did not want to go over. Anyway 2 gentlemen show up and I meet the down stairs. Again in the vain of being efficient I told them that the best place to park for the larger stuff was by the closest stairs. Granted, it's 3 flights, but we did and were obligated to pay for stair fee. I also told them that because they had a dolly, and knowing just basic elementary physics, that it would be best if once the larger items (furniture, TVs, appliances) were loaded, to pull around to the closest entrance to our elevator for the boxes. Again physics, it would be much easier to go up stairs, rather than down with large boxes. The boss of the two man crew, the one with the face tattoos, decided it would be easier to just pull closest to the elevator to load everything. He started our time at 8am and before he even left his evaluation, he said that they would not move my 75" flatscreen. That it is was in the contract and they wouldn't do it. They began loading boxes on the dolly. It's hard to explain how far our apartment is from the elevator, but picture 3 long corridors with left turns at every football field long hall. I even timed the first load to see what I was up against, and it took him 15 mins for one load. That's ok, because remember I told them that taking the boxes to the elevator would be easier, and less likely for these daft excons to drop or break everything. Meanwhile my concern turned towards to my TV. How the hell was I going to move it? We thought of everything and with each idea it increased the cost of our move. Finally I asked my wife to get Lee the owner by text to approve this. He called back and again recited the contract and commented how he's not surprised how many people don't read it and began to go over why he doesn't blah blah blah. Finally I get on the phone and he repeats himself by basically insinuating how customers can't read, your wife signed the contract etc. I stopped him dead and said "look Lee this has put me in a bind. I'm already stressed enough and don't need a lesson on the ineptitude of your previous customers. I'm willing to waive liability and I will wrapped it myself, help load and unload it myself and that should be sufficient." He relents and asks me to get tattoo face on the phone and add a byline to the contract to release them from all liability. I wasn't worried the TV is specifically insured and of something did at happen, at least I would have the unit at my new residence, and could file a claim where a new one would be delivered. Ok that settled. Keep in mind they are moving our stuff out one dolly at a time and by the time were maybe a third of the way empty, 1.5 hours have passed. They have now loaded all the boxes, and have started on the larger items, but they haven't move their truck. Oh did I mention, only 1 mover was on top while tattoo face stayed ground level supposively loading the truck. At hour 2, I noticed there was no way this move was going to be finished in 3 hours. The top mover was literally loading light stuff like pillows on the dolly and making a 15 min round trip. At that point I started moving our things out sans dolly. All the way to elevator. What surprised me the most is our stuff was stacked on the third floor, and when I took my load down, it was also stacked on the ground floor. 2 hours!!! I even had the top mover complaining on how he had to do everything and tattoo face was slowly walking like he was blundted up. So now I became the mover and hussled harder than either of them. read more

Picked these guys out of a slew of other movers offering Groupons and am not disappointed. They arrived on the top end of quoted start time. Never caught any of the 3 lollygagging or talking on their cells instead of working which I've had movers do before. They worked pretty expeditiously - likely would've been faster if I didn't have so much stuff and if I had it a little more organized. I had items that needed to be loaded In my personal vehicles as well as in their truck and items that were staying put. Didn't help either that a lot of my furniture is quite large and really really heavy AAANNNDDD I was moving from an upstairs apartment with a slightly odd set up as far as where the stairs and certain walls are. Took them a while to get it all loaded BUT AGAIN they were dealing with ALOT and Lord bless them because they got 98% of all of it to fit in their truck - they used ALLLL available space they had & I appreciate that immensely! Moved from Carrollton apartment to a storage in Lancaster and the unload went much faster of course. It did take them a while to get there - we left my apartments at same time around 11:35am - I stopped at an ATM & waited in line a few minutes and still made it to my storage in Lancaster by 12:20pm. Called them to see where they were at 12:36pm and they arrived about 12:55pm due to traffic the route they took and driving around a little while trying to locate my storage facility which is on a service road off 35. Small bookcase was broken during unloading at storage but it was a cheapish one so I'm not too concerned. As far as I could tell all my really nice pieces were well taken care of. Won't know for sure til I unpack about 6 months from now. Oh and my storage is packed floor to ceiling almost - these guys know how to make every inch count - again I have aaaalllloooootttt of stuff! All & all, took just a little bit longer than I expected but the guys were AWESOME and careful AND I received a follow up call a little after they were done from Hawkboyz management to see how the move went. RUN AWAY!!!!! If I could give no stars I would. Please run away. See they put the great reviews on the company website. I used them 6/4/16 and Daron the driver is very unprofessional, rude, and does not work. He goes into the job trying to get overtime which equals more money. 3 hours and 2 movers hired from them because 4 hours 1 mover from them myself and my husband as the other movers. Then to top it off Daron makes the statement to his boss Lee, that "he done got another client that don't have any money." Now he said this because I asked him 3 times " Mr. Daron, we are on a time schedule can you please move and work." He chucked and said "any other movers would just throw your stuff on the truck but me I got to take my time." Terrible customer service. I called to receive clarification regarding a move, and the owner was arrogant and very rude for no reason. I ended up cancelling my move because of his attitude. I located the business on Groupon on and the owner stated to not book on GROUPON which I didn't and I only wanted to reiterate he services that I was going to receive. HORRIBLE...Unprofessional...BEWARE..RUN..RUN. Showed up over 2 hours late, with NO TOOLS. Let me repeat, mover with NO Tools? I had to send my teenage daughter to buy tools. My sofa is STILL stuck at my apartment because they had NO Tools to take door off. I purchased 3 men for 3 hours. Its a scam!! One of the guys hangs outside by the truck and the other two move items. Supposedly for the outside guy to load onto the truck, sounds ok right? EXCEPT in 2 hours he loaded 2 small boxes and spent most of his time sitting in the truck on the phone. They were 2 hours late because the move before mine went over a few hours and mine took 4 hours to move 2 beds, 1 chest, 1 chair, 1 dining room table with 6 chairs and 3 tv and 3 pieces of patio (small wicker) furniture. See a PATTERN here???? I called the owner, he NEVER called me back. SOFA still there and they charged me FULL price. I'm a single woman and almost had to call police, I felt intimidated to pay them because remember they didn't move all my furniture. I live in an upscale area and didn't want to cause a scene with my neighbors or worse because they know where I lived I felt afraid to call. They are HORRIBLE. BEWARE .
