AFTER I asked my girlfriend if she was alright. No "was anything damaged?" or "Can I get you a towell, or at least replace your drinks?" No, they just took the umbrellas away in a golf cart. Thanks for the mess, the ruined food, spilled drinks from your unsecured umbrellas, and not offering to compensate us at all.

Tickets for the lavender bloom are seasonal and opening dates can vary based on the timing of the bloom each year. They do a great job of posting their bloom updates and open hours. Buy entry tickets in advance and be ready to show them on your phone. On the day I visited, they had a local coffee vendor who was serving lavender infused products and some local makers on site. The farm is not far from the Sacramento and Folsom areas and you can spend the day visiting other local growers or businesses not too far away. What I really enjoyed about the farm were their strategically placed benches and lawns. You can sit in the shade and enjoy the fields from afar after taking time to walk directly through them. Photo ops abound! There's also a farm barn with their wonderful products such as lotions, soaps and culinary items made from their own lavender. If you missed their opening in 2024, be sure to check them out in next year's bloom. Such a pretty and peaceful place!

We saw bears, roaming peacocks, a coyote, zebu, raccoons, macaques, bobcats, many kinds of birds, donkey, horses, & more. Getting a good look at some of the animals was hit or miss. Signage gives information & facts about the animals, stories of how they came to the Sanctuary, & their names. A small gift shop is onsite with a variety of items. They have a variety of pumpkins for sale, and reasonably priced. They have tractor hay rides, animals for petting (bunnies, goats, & chickens) and pony rides. They had a corn maze/tunnel that the children loved running through. And the rocking horse corral was a big hit. And it was reasonably priced. Weekend tickets are released on Thursdays at 7 pm. When choosing our date and time it shows we only had an hour to pick but really we got to take our time and enjoy our morning. I feel they show you have a one hour slot to help stagger guests in. I love how they had a little gift shop set up, another tent with fresh flowers, drinks, and beautiful cookies at the register to purchase. The strawberry fields had plenty to choose from. We saw lots of bright red ones varying from all sizes. The staff also informed us there were 6 types of strawberries being grown! They offer 6 different varieties of strawberries, yup you read that right. I had no idea there were more than one variety, so this educational part was cool. The farm can get crowded and with this Sac heat, I highly recommend scheduling your reservation early and on a weekday. The farm is family owned and everyone is so nice. Would absolutely recommend this idea to families with your kiddos.

One difficulty is that there is no restroom, not even a portapotty. Given the location that is not good as it is quite a distance to get to any place with a public restroom. Another is that there is no way to contact the venue by phone if you have questions. I almost didn't go because I was a bit late and the confirmation I received said that we had to be there at our specific time with no ability to change it. Fortunately my son was able to email them and ask if I could catch up to them on the trail if I arrived a bit late and they responded quickly enough that I didn't have to turn around and go back home (my drive there was two hours).
