Words can't do justice in explaining how good this place runs. I have been dealing with such a stressful situation, it makes me cry. Simply after calling this place on the phone, I already felt a humanly sense of care that I haven't felt recently. The people running this place made me feel so at ease, without even knowing the mental state I've been in trying to handle the situation with my cat having been attacked. When I arrived, my cat was taken in, and they all treated him like their own companion. Thank you Christina, for making me feel calmer and showing me financial options to lighten my burden. It made my stress go away after so much mental turmoil. Dr. Adler then came in to observe my cat. He knew exactly what he was doing and executed perfectly. A thorough examination of the cat was done with precise descriptions during review of the injuries. Throughout the examination, everything was documented with an advanced AI tool and I was able to get spot on answers to my questions. I then went with Melissa and Selena to get my next appointment scheduled. They provided me with the breakdowns of everything that was done, along with specific instructions for my cat's medication. Melissa also really helped me navigate through the billing, she made everything so easy for me and, even provided me with a box carrier for my cat since my cat was in so much distress in the original carrier I brought him in. I came in for another visit and was kindly welcomed and greeted by Gabby who followed through on checking the status of my cat and making sure he's okay. David then brought me in to reunite me with my cat. He explained the follow up details and instructions with me after the cats procedure, and was very gentle with the cat. He also provided extra padding for the carrier for when I take him back home, in case of any accidents, and he gave me recommendations for keeping the cat at ease during his recovery. I will drive an hour away to Hawthorne Quality Pet Care (HQPC) because it's truly the best care for pets and patients. Everyone here is very knowledgeable, very reasonable, so caring, they do everything in their power to help, and the people running the place truly stand out. I almost forgot to mention, they have snacks and drinks in the lobby. It is truly wholesome because as pet owners we come in so stressed when our baby animals are sick that we neglect ourselves and suppress our eating in order to handle the situation at hand. It was very mindful, and truly wholesome. I just want to thank everyone there all around for caring...

I had been looking for a vet to give me a prescription for my dog's food. Everywhere I went they wanted to charge an arm and leg, Gaby recommended this place and made me a same day appointment....took my Romeo in for a check up and got the prescription for a whole year. The whole place was great, everyone from the front desk to the Vet himself were so helpful and even gave me recommendations on other stuff that had nothing to do with the food prescription. Very affordable, they are very helpful and the attention is incredible. Will be definitely recommending this place and going back anytime my Romeo needs care. Thank you Hawthorne Quality Pet Care.

Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. My Chihuahua had a uterine infection which required a more delicate surgery than regular spay. They took excellent care pre and post surgery and kept us updated on her progress. We picked her up today and she is resting comfortably. Will make HQPetcare our regular veterinary clinic

Last week, my sister and I rescued a cat who was severely injured from a dog fight. Took our little guy to the Access Hospital, and left with a big bill and no help. The next day we took him here, and I have no words to describe how caring and wonderful everyone was. From Gabby at the front desk, to the doctor and all of the nurses. They all were very sweet and helpful, went above and beyond to try and save Rayito. Unfortunately, the injuries were too much, and infection had spread. I know for certain, they did all they could... but this little angel needed to cross the rainbow. They gave us pain medicine, so he won't suffer, and we took him home. Crossing the rainbow bridge the following day. I will never forget the kindness they showed us during such a hard time. I have added a picture of Rayito. Took him to see the sunset at the beach the day before the crossed over. Thank you guys.

As a pawparent ( Bulldog ) been coming here for years, Dr Fritz I belive that's my doctor name, one of the best vet doctor for my boy. This facility change names and belive change everything around maybe for the best for everyone. The only thing this change made was the reminder for your paw friend I didn't get no reminders for his upcoming treatments, which made my paw friend had flees, kinda sad for my paw friend.. I hope they get back to how it was before communications is the key goal. Also my boy been here for almost his entire life, this facility should consider having complementary nail treatments for dogs and cats for there birthdays is a thought maybe this facility will get more excellent reviews and more patients. We love Dr Frytz

    Isn't she cute!

I was very happy with this facility! Even with all the changes being made to make it bigger- the staff focused on the pets being seen. Dr. O was very thorough explaining (repeatedly) so I understood everything. He wasn't rushed- he took his time and did a wonderful job. The techs were amazing- very kind, warm to my chihuahua. Not in a hurry- made sure everything was addressed. Front desk staff was kind and helpful- even while training new staff. This will be my only vet from now on.

I brought my two rabbits in for a visit and ended up being charged for services that were never clearly explained or approved beforehand. One charge was $22.50 for "brushing out poop" from one of my rabbits, which is something I easily could have done at home. I wasn't given any notice that this would be a separate service or cost. They also added a "wound service" charge, which confused me even more. When I asked what it was for, they said they think one of the rabbits might have a soft spot and suggested adding softer padding in the bedding area--but they also said they weren't sure and that nothing else needed to be done right now. It didn't make sense to charge for a wound service when there wasn't a confirmed issue or treatment. My main concern is the lack of transparency. If a clinic plans to perform additional services or add charges, they should explain them and get approval before doing them. Pet care is already expensive, and clients deserve to know what they're being billed for. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling like unnecessary services were added without my consent therefore we will not be returning.

They brought her out and she seemed fine. They explained to me they were able to retrieve one raisin. I was relieved because I thought she swallowed more. Now when it came to cost, I know these things can be costly. The Dr assistant did want me to pay between 3,500-4,500 for my fur baby to stay there for two nights to check her levels. When I informed the Dr assistant I did not have that sort of money. The Dr assistant demeanor seemed to have changed, but she followed up with me after and asked how Prada was holding up. The doctor on the other hand was very nice and accommodating. Luckily my fur baby Prada is very much alive. If my fur baby has another medical emergency I would come back here. Earlier that day, he had already been seen by my regular veterinarian, where bloodwork was done. Since they couldn't determine the cause of his illness, they recommended I take him to an urgent care facility. The only reason they referred me was because they did not have the equipment to perform X-rays or an ultrasound. They had already done everything they could at their clinic and wanted my dog to receive the advanced imaging he needed. When I arrived around 12:00 PM, the receptionist told me the wait would be about two hours. I completely understood because it's an urgent care, and I appreciated that they took my dog into the treatment area. I assumed he would at least receive IV fluids to keep him hydrated while we waited, especially because I specifically told the receptionist he wasn't eating, was weak, and needed an IV. I was willing to pay for whatever treatment he needed. As the hours passed, I repeatedly asked for updates. Around 3:00 PM, then again at 5:00 PM, I was told my dog was doing fine and that I would be seen soon. Finally, at about 7:00 PM, we were taken into an exam room. The veterinarian came in and immediately asked what was wrong with my dog. I was surprised because it seemed she hadn't been briefed on why we were there. I had to explain everything from the beginning while feeling overwhelmed after waiting seven hours. When I asked if my dog had been receiving IV fluids during that time, I was shocked to learn that he had not received any IV treatment at all. That was extremely upsetting because I believed he was at least being kept hydrated while waiting. After briefly reviewing the bloodwork from my regular veterinarian, the doctor told me my dog "might have leukemia (CANCER)" before performing any imaging, such as X-rays or an ultrasound. Hearing that was heartbreaking. She then recommended additional testing, including more bloodwork, X-rays, an ultrasound, and other diagnostics, with an estimated cost of around $12,000 just to determine what was wrong. I understand that diagnostics are important and that emergency veterinary medicine is expensive. However, after the lack of communication, the seven-hour wait without IV fluids, and hearing such a serious possibility mentioned before additional testing was done, I no longer felt confident continuing care there. I decided to take my dog home. Over the next two days, I focused on keeping him hydrated, monitored him closely, gently massaged his abdomen, and followed supportive care at home. Thankfully, he eventually passed a large mango pit in his stool. Once it came out, he quickly improved and made a full recovery. He did not have cancer. What scares me the most is thinking about how many pet owners may feel pressured into making heartbreaking decisions because of an initial possible diagnosis or because they simply can't afford the recommended costs. I kept thinking that could have been me. If I had accepted that my dog might have cancer without seeking another opinion or waiting for additional answers, I might have made a decision I would have regretted forever. Thankfully, in my dog's case, that wasn't what was wrong. Looking back, I understand that an X-ray may have helped identify the obstruction, and that is exactly why my regular veterinarian referred me there--they did not have the equipment to perform those tests. However, my experience left me feeling that communication was poor, my concerns were not taken seriously, and my dog waited far too long without the supportive care I believed he would receive. This was my personal experience, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this facility based on how my dog and I were treated. I truly hope no other family has to go through what we experienced.

Imagine sitting in a tight space and hearing workers chatting/laughing through the paper thin walls for up to an hour...then, you finally make it to a room where you are forced to wait an additional 20 mins to an hour before you see anyone. Yeah, no thanks. Then, you unlock this Lynch character. In MY experience, he misdiagnosed my dog with cancer over a year ago and urged me to pay 3k (or 5?) for surgery OR HE WOULD DIE within 5-6 months...being that I am not a person who can be sold on emotion, I naturally got a second opinion--of course it was a benign growth that went away on its own without intervention and is cancer-free; turning 11 next month, actually. The new vet literally almost laughed at Lynch's "assessment". What bothered me the most wasn't the "diagnosis" it was the sheer lack of empathy--specifically sending a dry email stating my dog needs the service or else. One sentence. No phone call. I also feel it's important to note that my dog didn't like this man at all. Dogs know. Oh, and guess whose dog ended up with a fun round of fleas despite paying $80 for ineffective bravecto meds? Mine. New vet advised me of the diminished efficacy of the brand and switched us to NexGuard--no issues since. If you love your pet, I'd suggest choosing quality over convenience....my dog is worth the road trip for ethical and competent treatment. The choice is YOURS!
