Dr Gramig did my thumb arthroplasty and repairing a tendon I partially ruptured in a fall. He is great and very patient friendly. I would let him fix my other thumb if it gets arthritic! Then when my right hip became arthritic, I contacted Dr Alusio at EmergeOrtho since he does more hip replacements in Greensboro than any other doctor. He advised me about when I would be ready for surgery and I went back to him when it was time. He also referred me to PrescribeFIT to help me work on my overall health prior to surgery. Kay Baker at PrescribeFIT has been an excellent coach for me and helped me get ready for surgery. She is still advising me in my post-operative recovery and I am thankful I have her advice during my total hip replacement recovery. Dr Alusio and his staff have did an awesome job on my hip. They have continually fielded my questions and brought me into the office for rechecks of my progress. It has been a difficult recovery for me at 72 years old and I appreciate the support I have gotten from them. Everyone in the Triad office has been great. I highly recommend EmergeOrtho Triad for all your orthopedic needs. They have a wide range of doctors who concentrate on areas of the body like hand and hip. I get these done every 3 months and alternate sides in order to deal with pain. This office has the pain management specialist on one side and a surgery center on the other side. It is very clean and tidy. Staff is friendly and accommodating. They get you in fairly quickly and prep you for surgery immediately. The procedure is always done with care and they make sure that they deal with the proper spot as far as my pain goes. I highly recommend this center if you are dealing with any type of spine or back pain issues, however I don't wish on anyone getting hurt and having to use their services, but if you do.....try them out, you won't be disappointed!

I started seeing Dr. Peacock at Spine Specialists several years ago, when I suddenly had…read moreexcruciating pain in my lower back after radiation treatments for rectal cancer. My primary care physician did an x-ray and found that I had severe arthritis in my lumbar spine and sacroiliac joints. She sent me to Spine Specialists. Dr. Peacock looked at my x-rays and examined me. He told me he thought the best course of action would be nerve blocks to my sacroiliac joints. We proceeded with that course of treatment for several years. I would go about every 10 weeks and get the injections to both sides. They helped my pain immensely. In 2024, I was in seeing one of the PAs and she brought up a procedure that would give me longer lasting pain relief. I would have to do two test runs, with a total of 8 injections at a time, to prove to my insurance that the procedure would work to kill the nerves. I endured both of those, and they did indeed prove that I was a candidate for nerve ablation. I was told that nerve ablation gives pain relief for 6 months to a year. Dr. Peacock performed the ablation on my right side in September 2024. The pain relief was almost immediate. We did the left in December 2024. It is now March 2026, and I have not had any pain return. I absolutely, 100% recommend Spine Specialists and Dr. Peacock!

The staff are all very caring and do their jobs well. When I was in for my first rectal cancer surgery and on a liquid diet, they kept bringing me sweet tea with my trays. I told the person from dietary that I do not like tea, but would appreciate something else to drink if they had anything, She said that was the standard menu for a liquid diet, but she would see what she could do. She left my room, then came back with 5 cans of Gatorade. She said to let her know if I needed more. The nurses are amazing. There were some technical issues in my room when I had my second rectal cancer surgery. My call bell wasn't working, so when I pressed it to ask for my pain medication, they did not get the notification at the nurse's station. It was around shift change, so luckily a CNA came in to get my vitals. I told her I had been ringing for my pain medication, but there was no answer. She ran out of the room, suddenly I was swarmed by nurses. They got me settled with my pain medication, then got to work trying to figure out why my call bell wasn't working. They messed with the plug in the wall, and it started working again. They also noticed my room was missing a phone, so they went and got me one. They wrote their direct phone number up on my white board, so in case the call bell stopped working again, I could call them instead. For the rest of the night, any time anybody came to check on me, they made sure my call bell still worked. I absolutely would have another procedure there again.

Today while parking, I noticed a sign for a farmers market in front of the building. There appeared to be individuals selling honey, fruit, vegetables, and other items on the side of the building. Today my appointment was scheduled on the 3rd floor at the Surgical Specialties Clinic. This floor appears to still have some ongoing construction on one end. Thankfully the elevator made this a convenient and painless trip to my appointment. It was easy to find where I needed to go. This was a very calm and spacious floor during my visit. I even had a nice view while waiting. The VA now has a check-in online option for your appointments. They will text you with a link to do so. If you're not signed up for text notifications, you may ask the staff for assistance to set this up. I still chose to check in with the desk as well. This option could be useful if you're in a rush or simply want to use your device to check in quickly. The reception staff, nurses, and doctors were pleasant and willing to address any questions or concerns I had. I've had past experiences in other clinics here that weren't as pleasant but I have seen progress during my most recent visits with this. There was a bit of a delay with being called to the back for my appointment, which is something that is usually a gamble. Hopefully, this is something that can become better over time as well. If anything that was my only issue today.

At check-in they asked for the phone number of the person with me and they immediately sent a text saying I had been registered. There were tv screens with the patient numbers that updated progress every step along the way. There was a drink machine, restrooms and food along with a table very near the waiting area. It EAS spacious and comfortable. I was called back within 5 min of registering. I had two nurses and they were so calming and we had a great time laughing and chatting. They made me feel very calm about everything. The nurse who put in my IV even numbed my hand first. I've never had that before and it was a nice touch. The anesthesia team was amazing. They talked me through every detail and we made decisions together. Shortly after the decisions were made, my surgeon came to see me and talk through some details. I was then wheeled to the operating room which was very spacious and I could tell had the latest technology. The entire team calmed me before putting me under. I woke up with a very nice recovery nurse helping me wake up. She gave me ginger ale and helped me get dressed. I received a follow-up survey for feedback and also a "how are you doing survey". I prefer this facility to the hospital. I felt safer as I didn't think there were as many sicknesses in the building like a hospital. Very clean facility. While I hope I never need the facility again, I recommend this to anyone finding themselves needing a surgical procedure.
