I thought having my insurance agent in my building would make it convenient for him to be my State Farm Agent for my home car, and office I was renting. That was probably in around 2015. Let me tell you "State Farm is NOT there when you have a claim. And MATT completely ignores you. I had a water claim on my home, and I never heard back from MATT, and state farm sent SERVPRO for my Clean-up - and they STOLE things. Matt, NEVER even spoke to me, let alone come to my house to see the damage. Then I had a MOLD claim in my office, neither MATT, nor STATE Farm, EVER got back to me (that was the First week in October. It is now the END of November and I have been ignored, except a note from Matt about my insurance payment. But what am I getting for my insurance payments? Certainty not any help from MATT, and only flimsy patronizing help from State Farm, after contacting higher ups.

TO DATE - October 21, the repairs are still not completed and she has not heard from Kari or Mike at Mullan insurance ONCE throughout this claim process. When we inquired to them, they brushed us off. They were there to collect their premiums year after year, but when she needed them they abandoned her. Jeff Traudt at State Farm is a MUCH better option for clients of all ages and needs.

I guess that you can say that I have a lot of experience with insurance agents (and even internet companies), and unfortunately, I have had some bad experiences. For example, I thought I had good coverage with an online policy for my car (let's just say that the small green lizard was their representative) but then had an accident and found out that my coverage wasn't quite what I had thought. I had to shell out thousands for a repair...so much for "cheap" insurance! When I moved to Toledo I asked around about who I should choose for my home and auto insurance, and I consistently heard good things about Mullan Insurance. I also saw on TV that they had received some sort of award from the Better Business Bureau, so I felt that I could probably trust them. I decided to give them a call, and I was extremely happy that I did. What I liked the best was the fact that they have multiple companies from which they can choose, and so they were able to get prices from several different companies that could get me the best price. I also felt like they treated me as an intelligent human being, taking the time to explain the types of coverage and deductibles that I could choose from. I didn't feel like they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes with complicated insurance "speak"- they were happy to answer all of my questions and saved me money by finding just the right company for me. I appreciated that. They also helped get me several discounts that dropped my cost quite a bit. These are quality people, and I highly recommend them!

The family has had an open door to our cabin on Bois Blanc Island which they happily used every year. Here is a funny side note Al and a group of his friends who use our place were actually there at our place when the tree fell on our house. Not Jill or Al did anything to help me through the process. I had to fight for 10 months to get a partial payment they owed me of $10k! So when I hear people say they are great., I used to say the same thing for 50 years, just hope nothing happens to your home. Here is another short fact. Once we finally got someone from their carrier show up he gave a quote in the $20k's, not knowing anything about construction I had two more builders come out and spent three hours going through things they never even looked at. Their estimate was in the low $90k's. After being passed off by Jill to the carrier and it took months to get them to come up around $60k more. Everything has been a battle since day one to one of their customers who has insured over 5 houses at once and god knows how many cars. The thing that stung the most is I thought we were friends and the way Jill acted was inappropriate and hurtful.
