Excellent burgers & pizza - 4 stars!…read more FYI, it's called "Riley's Cannibal Junction", NOT "Riley's Fine Food & Drink". Don't judge a book by its cover. That's the first thing I have to say about this hole-in-the-wall bar & restaurant. When you find them, it feels like the middle of nowhere because there are no houses, cabins, or other businesses in sight. This is a totally casual, no-frills place with a hunting and fishing cabin type of vibe. Come as you are. Are you still wearing your hunting camo or your snowmobile suit? No problem. The burgers, pizzas, and soups are very good. The all-beef patties are the real deal. No soybean additives here. The owner makes an extra effort to get a higher grade ground beef. You can definitely taste the difference. The staff is very friendly and unpretentious. And the prices are remarkably reasonable (see photo). If you're interested in the history, they have a summary on the back of the menu and on the Facebook page. It all goes back to the 1950s and an eccentric husband & wife named Chester & Violet Guiles. The local kids started calling Chester "Cannibal Guiles". Once a week they'd go to Deer River to buy groceries in a horse drawn buckboard. One final note: I read a silly previous review accusing this place of being "disgustingly racist". I saw no evidence of racism whatsoever. In fact, there was a Native American gentleman cooking on the day I visited. I complimented him on the burgers and we had a nice chat. He's a nice dude. I don't know what kind of personal beef was going on at some point in the past, but this review is pretty bad...the worst type of ignorant, woke, race baiting & trolling with no evidence at all. Don't like 'em? Don't go there. This stupid review should really be removed or sidelined by Yelp. Anyway, enough time wasted on that topic... Stop by if you're in the area. Grab a brew and some grub. Thumbs up! -Maxx

Quality Food & Quality Service…read more This place has my recommendation based on one visit in Springtime to Northern Minnesota. A beautiful, rustic setting, excellent service, and the food was better than I expected. We ordered three sandwiches: Rueben, Italian Beef, Walleye, and also Homemade Lasagna. All delicious, all correctly made, and each was Huge! I had the Rueben but I'd order any of these next time I'm in the area. I can't forget to mention our waitservice - Nevaeh was fully attentive but not overpresent. Outstanding - she's young, but already a professional. It's pretty remote, but if you're anywhere around there this is the place to get grub! Check it out!

Added some Italian dishes to and already nice menu with steaks fish and chicken. Some nice improvements on the outside seating area too. I love the new bar area. It's got a great vibe "Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy" and such a nice selection to choose from. "Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey. They know me and Jack Daniels got a history". But know your limit because "One, here comes the two to the three to the four" .... A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey It seemed to fit so I tried to work it in. lol Always a good time at the newly owned TimberWolf.
