there isn't much of a park here. the trees are vary short, provide no shade. gets hot early on. there's no gravel, sand, bark, just plastic courtesy of Hayward's Rotary Club. it's just for children up to age 12. there's a slide, rock wall to climb, swings, and other activities suitable for kids. there are benches for adults to sit upon while watching the kids. good size parking lot next to playground. read more

Park used to be in bad shape with holes in the flooring all over, but it's really gotten a facelift this year. Flooring looks all brand new. The slide that cracked last year is completely replaced. The park looks beautiful now, if a bit manufactured and empty of anything living other than kids and their parents. I would prefer more plant life in my parks, but as a place to bring young kids so they can run around without having to worry they'll wander into traffic, it's nearly perfect. The play structure is rated for ages 2-12 and my daughter loves it. Only downside is still lack of shade since the trees on the southeast side need years to grow big enough for that. Come in the afternoon so you can at least sit on the southwest benches that are shaded by the bigger bay trees. Overall a great place to take the kids after going to toddler time at the library. read more

my little one likes to play in this park, but every time we're there she needs to pee she pees in between the buches, coz there is no bathroom no water to drink, or even share from hot or sun. Improve it for the sake of our childre. read more

Our playgroup came here based on my friend J.L.'s Yelp. It's a great park for active crumbsnatchers! Fenced in for those with little ones who can run fast and far (we have a couple in our group). Large enough to ride their little bikes or to rollerblade, yet small enough we parents can sit on the shady bench and chat and still keep one eye on them (for the most part). Love the spongy/corky floor. Easy to get to and easy to park. It lost a star because there is no bathroom. read more

My kids absolutely love this park! It was my go to spot for them. My favorite things about here is that it is enclosed and it's soft mat. I can't stand tanbark! The park usually always has kids playing here which is great for when my kids need buddies. You can walk here from downtown or if you drive there is a decent sized parking lot. I wouldn't say it's difficult driving here or getting to. I come down D st. or you can enter on C st. I've never had a problem finding a spot in the parking lot. Now I will say over the years the matting has become worn and I noticed kids love to pick and pull at it. Little ones-who are still learning to pick their feet up all the way-may trip over those spots. Other than that the park is still maintained. I have seen plenty of times the city workers coming to clean up and emptying the trash cans and what not. I love this park! I'm sad since moving, that I don't have one like this near me any more. read more

They came to my home and gave my cat a beautiful cut and shampoo. They treated her hidden fleas and now she likes being petted on her back by her tail again. They are a little on the pricey side ($200 with tip!), but my baby is worth it and she still looks great. read more

I go here under the guise that I'm being a good mommy when secretly I'm just a BIG kid too! Swings....YAY! A twisty slide...YAY! A weird bouncy thingamajigger...YAY! A pseudo rock-climbing wall...YAY! A yellow ducky on a spring...YAY! And best of all...it's all on this bouncy rubber turf...YAY! That means: NO SAND...NO TANBARK...NO WEIRD GRAVELLY-STUFF (read: nothing for my son to throw or put in his mouth that inevitably has been peed on by all the neighborhood animals, including the drunken bums). This park does not look like much but it is one of my favorites to go with the children I nanny. The huge gate around it assures that they don't run off (not that they would because all I have to do is get that "don't you dare" tone in my voice and they listen).There is a squishy padded ground to assure that there are no scraped knees and our shoes aren't filled with sand and tan bark. There is a great climbing wall for older children. Despite the smallness of it, there is plenty to do. -1 star because there always seems to be lots of garbage around the benches...maybe because the only garbage cans are outside the gate. read more

My daughter has been visiting this Downtown Hayward park since she was a toddler. It wasn't around when I was little; it has rubbery recycled floors and primary colored plastic play structures. We have visited on Off the Grid Mondays and summer days and it's been busy. We were alone for most of our visit on Black Friday. There is a small parking lot that is hard to enter now that traffic has been rerouted after the Mission overhaul. After three loops around the block, I finally got in. The big minus is that there are no restrooms. However, you can go across the street most days to the Main Library. read more

This is a nice clean playground for the younger kids. There's swings. 2 slides. A small rock climbing section. 2 see saw swings. And some little bouncy seats for the tots. There is no grassy area just the foam floor playground. read more

Great park! Lots of parking. Right next to the library and in walking distance to cafes. They have some cool stuff to play on. A little rock wall and tons of space for the kids to run wild. There isn't much shade if that's what your looking for. But if you want to work in your tan while you watch the kids do it here. They also have a gate that locks so the kids can't escape. read more

I agree about the gate being pretty cool that you don't have to worry about your child running off, especially when you're hands are full with a 5 week old and your toddler takes off pretty quick, thats a great help! I liked everything there as far as swings and a variety of things for kids to do, along with the cleanliness. I took my daughters here the other day and they both had fun... here the thing: my daughters are 10 months old and 15 years old! My oldest daughter keeps asking to go back! I thought she was too old for parks... she says she wants to go for her sister to have fun. You gotta check this park out! You gotta love the gate and the rubber floor!!!! There are very few playgrounds; although new, they still don't put the rubber floors in. Perhaps, its expensive to maintain. There are already spots on the floor that need patching up but, its not too shabby. Thanks to these rubber floors, I don't have to lift a finger and let my 1 1/2 year old have free reign and not worry about her scrubbing her knees. There are always a good number of kids here. It's not overwhelming but enough for my 5 year old to befriend. He also loves the springy motorcycle looking things. I'm not sure what you call it but he loves to hop on that and pretend he's a Transformer. We have a blast here and will stay here hours on end even after dark. I wish they have better lighting at night though and it sucks big time that there are NO BATHROOMS!!!!! read more

This park is located on a busy street. There is plenty of parking and it is fenced in to keep the kids from running into traffic. There's lots of space to run around but BEWARE this park is in need of repairs. There are huge holes in the ground near the play areas. I tripped on one of the holes myself! Even though this park is on a busy street it doesn't seem to get crowded. A big plus! read more
