I would not recommend sending your children to this school. Especially if you feel as though that your child might need some form of special education. There's no sense of community, school spirit, or effort with the administration at this school. Notices of dress up days, parent events, and other activities were sent out a day or two before event dates. Poor communication and lack of accountability from administrators at Hazel Harvey Peace. My daughter had Mrs. Lautigar and I expressed to her teacher several times that I felt she had dyslexia ( I had it, my mom, and my grandmother) the signs were there and she brushed me off. Her grades were declining and I finally sent an email to the Principal, Vice Principal, and the Special Education teacher. After months of asking for testing she finally received testing in fall of 2024. She did not receive results until a month before school ended. So my child struggled all school year due to the lack of understanding, urgency, and care. My son on the other hand had Mrs. Wooldridge and I absolutely loved her, if I gave stars it would be just for her. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!! They don't care about children. They are rude especially if you voice your concerns to the office people on why you want to pull your child out of the school because nobody is communicating what's going on with your autistic child but they think your the problem and brush you off like your concerns about your child doesn't matter. I've kept telling them multiple times my issue isn't with the office people my issues is with my child teacher like I would've understand better if the teacher would communicate with me because I understand dealing with autistic children is a lot but if it's a problem let me know and I would gladly take him out. But no they wanted to act like I was the problem when all I'm trying to figure where was my child like of course I'm going to be hostile like I told them if it was their child they would've acted the same way. But they don't care this isn't the first incident. Telling me to stop using profanity like I'm not grown my feelings and my concerns about my child is valid I don't care about the rules when something is going on with my child. I hope karma bites all of the office people. You can't keep getting a attitude with people y'all don't know. Y'all don't know what people are going through and if you don't like y'all job find something better I wouldn't be talking to people crazy especially if I don't know them because you don't know what people are can do.They really need professional people!!!! read more

From ground breaking to opening I have been apart of this school. Being named after a woman that had so much history at I.M. Terrell and in the community our little neighborhood now carries on the legacy in Ms. Peace name as well. The school is very clean and totally energy efficient. Great teachers and staff members that are very hands on with the guidence and protection of the children. Good outdoor amenities that has two gated area playgrounds and a two basketball courts outside along with track that also connects with a neighborhood play/picnic area. This is a good modern day school that's well maintenance. *** STARS: Ok Legacy Community Church holds services here on Sundays in the gym. I had the honor of attending and was totally amazed at the union of the small congregation. It is very welcoming and the Pastor gave a good message. This was my very first at going to hear the world and praise in a school/gym but it just goes to show and prove that as your told you can praise God anywhere and believe he'll show up! Hopefully, Legacy will be able to be enrichly blessed with more members to build on. My first visit will definitely not be my last. If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Mr. Clark the special needs teacher at the school grab my daughter and left a hand mark on her forearm comma pictures and video were taken get all summer went by without anyone contacting me until a few days before the school year began. They told me that my daughter would be moved to a school over 15 minutes away because they had decided to keep the teacher that they had done a quote-unquote thorough investigation. No one spoke to my daughter or myself like I said it took a couple days before the school year comma I'd also like to add that he implemented some weird policy in his classroom where he told the students if I didn't see it it didn't happen and even told the students that they were imagining things that they were complaining of or actually that they were trying to tell him about. My daughter was one of six students in his class and brought home incomplete work that even had wrong answers on it. I've requested through the school and through the ISD to get answers about this policy and the reason that work was coming home like that and to this day has still not gotten any answers as a matter of fact I've had to find my child a child advocate so that I can have a sit-down meeting with the school and the ISD because I refuse for them to just silence my child like that when she was abused at their school by one of their teachers. The diagnostician even pulled me into a vestibule last year to try to raise her voice at me and yell at me when no one was around I felt so bullied I turned around and walked back into the office where people were. They've taken over 2 weeks to get me my daughter's paperwork for enrollment in another school and when I finally got it it was incomplete and there was another child's paperwork in there as well Kama they told me it was taking so long because it all had to be printed off of a computer but when I get the paperwork it's got binder marks and you can see where it's been copied comma also how did another student's paperwork get into my daughter's paperwork if it was printed from a computer? All in all I'd say the children aren't safe and the principal seems to just pacify I complaining parent. Communication is a major problem between teachers parents the school itself as well as the ISD as many people as I spoke to which was over 4 or 5, No One seemed to have their story straight. I even got a call from Personnel department at Fort Worth ISD and it sounded like she was in a restroom, there was a lot of that going and I couldn't understand her she said she was going to call back but never did. I missed a meeting because the principal left a message on Grandma and Grandpa's answering machine for a meeting that was less than 24 hours away, I didn't find a message on someone else's machine is being sufficient communication. all in all very let down by the school and have pulled my child out for her own safety. I also requested cameras last year when the law first went into effect and they told me that that was not a lot. When I did it this year they told me that they were in the process of getting their paperwork together and in order. a lot of things that look sketchy or going on at this school and I refuse to let my child be silenced, I am her voice and will not give up. #parentsbeware read more
