After spending quite a bit of time in the Philippines this year for work, I learned to appreciate Philippine culture and food a lot more. Not only because I was born and raised in the USA, but the Filipino eating experience is sure something else. Glad to have visited this place! Definitely hit the spot in terms Filipino Taste and comfort, minus the Filipino portions (small portions almost tapas like) . Came here mostly because I have been craving Lechon Kawali for the past few days. The lechon kawali was perfectly cooked, not too oily and definitely an enjoyable item. Paired with Garlic rice and eggs, this has the makings of an enjoyable meal in itself! Definitely cannot go wrong with this combo and best of all the quality and the flavor! The price alone ($10) for this one dish is definitely a win! They also had the Beef Mami ( Beef Noodle Soup) on their menu, so I also had to order one for myself! For a Beef Mami this is reasonably portioned and sized for a Filipino Beef Noodle soup. The broth had the rich beefy flavor that Beef Mami is known for and the cuts of beef they used was definitely rich and flavorful! I kinda messed up by over ordering, but I am not complaining because it hit the spot! They also have tusok tusok (skewers with street food) available. I tried the Fried Shumai, which was delicious. The Kwek Kwek was good in my opinion, because the batter they fried the quail eggs in was actually crispy and not soggy, which was enjoyable. For the Kwek Kwek I don't have a solid baseline to judge it being that I never had it in the Philippines, but it was delicious nonetheless! The eatery itself is set up with outdoor seating. This is heavily reminiscent of eating at a lot of outdoor eateries in the Philippines, which led to a pleasant experience for me! It was almost like sitting in the Philippines minus the humid heat of course. Overall, I would say this is some of the best tasting Filipino food that I have experienced in the DFW considering the ones I have been to have been a bust. Delicious taste and reasonably priced is a win for me! The owners are very nice too, so It feels good to be supporting a local Filipino business in the DFW!

The old couple that used to be there were always so friendly and helpful when ordering. They sold the restaurant last year to a younger couple who modernized the restaurant while keeping some of the same flavors. However, we were surprised to see new ownership on our most recent visit. We decided to give it a shot and had a pretty disappointing experience. We came at 5:30pm and pretty much all the food was sold out already. We usually get pork adobo, beef caldereta, chayote, lumpia Shanghai, and pinakbet but they either were sold out or didn't offer any of it. More than half the items they had were sold out which is pretty bad. How does a Filipino restaurant run out of pork adobo! With that said we still ordered food hoping for the best but it wasn't up to previous standards. The tocino only had a few pieces of meat and the garlic rice was very mushy with no garlic flavor at all. The lechon kawali seemed fresh but the fried skin had a mushy texture. Pork sinigang wasn't bad but seemed to be missing some depth to the soup. They wouldn't let us order the sinigang as an entree combo item, which we've always done, so we had to order a whole big bowl of it. The guy explaining things also didn't have the best attitude and seemed flustered while prepping the rice and food to send out. Food took a long time to come out as well. Plus, they have this weird air freshener blowing some strong incense smell that was pretty overpowering. Just overall disappointed with the changes and overall vibe of the restaurant and probably won't come back for the unforeseeable future.

The cooks know what they are doing. But just keep in mind that this is on a farm in the middle of Princeton Texas. And there were flies EVERYWHERE. You will see them fly and land and walk around all over the uncovered food. All of them. And nobody cared. So note to self. Lechon is $20 a pound. When I was there they maxed at 2 lbs per person. Some people called ahead. But be informed with their process on their Facebook page. Grilled squid was my favorite. It was $20. Not all options they pictured on their Facebook page that they stated were available actually are. I was looking forward to some pork blood stew and some barbecue pork on a stick and they didn't have any even tho it was mentioned that it would be there. Their process is not efficient as of yet so it takes a while to actually order and then pay for your food. So if you are in a rush- this is not a good idea. I love that there is a Filipino store attached because they do sell stuff that the asian market near us doesn't sell and it's very specific. The restaurant has a lot of potential, the food was authentic and tasty. They have a small stage for performances and karaoke. With proper marketing I can see this as the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. Our meal was comp'd which was great, just like to disclose this. We didn't get much because it was pretty much my wife and I eating and my two kids wouldn't each much, so they could just share. We got lumpia, chicken adobo, pork adobo, dinaguan, and pinakbet. I don't usually eat dinaguan and pinakbet, but I had some and it was delicious. It's Turo-turo style which is cool but if I was someone who was unfamiliar with Filipino food, which is a large majority of people in DFW, I'd have labels on the food or even have some samples that people know, ur pancit, Sinigang, sisig. The food was really good as it stand the most authentic tasting food in DFW. Please give them a try.

Staff must not spent time in this section unless necessary. When I entered the restaurant section, an employee took up a table on the far side to work. Walking toward the ordering line, the large printed menu with covered prices caught me off guard. Without prices nor descriptions, the menu was useless. Eventually, I saw the actual menu behind the counter. Without descriptions nor photos, I had to make an educated guess. After confirming with the cook that lechon was pork, I ordered the Lechon Kawali. The dining area was spartan. The tables were a combination of picnic benches and four-tops. When I went to grab napkins, I noticed the utensils were plastic. On the plus side, they had knives which eventually came in handy. As I was the sole customer, my order came out very quickly. The kitchen employee started my order before she approached the register. The food was served in styrofoam containers, the fried pork in one container and the rice in another. The sauce was served in a small plastic container. The sign by the register puzzled me. Once customers submit gratuity, it can not be refunded. Why would diners require that warning? Not as interesting, signs by the trash cans request customers to bus their own tables. Fortunately, due to the styrofoam containers and plate, that was a synch.

I was excited to see various breakfast platters on the menu and ordered a tapsilog for myself; my husband ordered the lechon kawali because it's one of his favorite dishes, and we split the lumpia and turon with the rest of our group. The lumpia and turon were both excellent - I loved the thin wrappers of the lumpia and it was perfectly crisp. Filling was very savory. Turon was not bad - I feel like the filling was a bit dry, but I liked that there were also bits of dried jackfruit (?) mixed in with the banana. The fried beef in my tapsilog was pretty dry and tough; I wouldn't order that breakfast platter again, but the garlic fried rice was good and the fried egg was perfectly cooked. I tried the pork in my friend's tocilog and it was quite good too. My husband's lechon kawali was great; the meat was tender/juicy and the skin was puffy and crisp. Others in our party got various items like the sisig, adobo, and beef stew, and enjoyed their meals as well. Service is pretty slow here, especially when the restaurant starts to fill up, but it's a great option close to home and I would definitely come back to try other menu items in the future!
