I visited on a Saturday for quick cider and some great music. I pass this location on my walks with my dog. I really enjoyed the peach cider and my pup enjoyed the yard. The service was quick and the bartender was friendly. There seem to be lots of kids and family there. Great places for all ages. read more

Industrial brick exposed with a nice list of beers including a large variety of non alcoholic beers as well. This was an awesome first stop on our long weekend drive, stopping here for dinner and drinks. A friendly bartender went through the list of NA beers since they weren't listed on the Untappd board. The food truck this evening was Normas Caribbean and that was delicious with the beers. A demonstration was going on this evening - "Introduction to Sushi Making" - and that looked fun. There are also a few pinball machines to keep the kids entertained. I'm informed that the ladies room was five stars clean. A variety of seating options including stools at the bar, high top tables, low top tables and some seating outside. I'm apparently delicious to mosquitoes so we stayed inside for our beers. Good location and dog friendly. Had a helluva time trying to order food: on wifi, still kept loading over a dozen times. No options to order IRL when it didn't work. (Gotta do minus one star for that time-wrecker.) There was an oldie rock band: vocals were not stellar but the guitarist was. A bit too loud if you wanted to talk in the audience. (Most sound engineers are hard of hearing.) The two beers I tried were solid. The birria taco was excellent; the chicken flatbread was cheesy and tasty but I'm not sure I found much chicken on it. The staff was friendly enough. Our table was full of sawdust but we let it slide. The real standout was watching children play in a brief rainstorm. The band stopped. The kids were full of joy. Visited Hazelwood Brewing for the first time. We were impressed with the location, facilities, and ambience. They have a limited food menu, but reasonable beer list. However we have two complaints: an almost 20% tip was added to our food bill and we ordered and picked up the order ourselves, there was no service. Later an employee asked if we needed anything and we asked for two glasses of water. She said she would get it promptly and then never returned. Not sure we will return. read more

Great find in Lexington, SC! We love finding new breweries that create unique profiles and are brewed in house. Hazelwood offers a variety of beers which include Pilsners, IPAs, Ales, Lagers and more. It offers great ambience with their outdoor patio. Although they don't carry food, they have collaborations with the community and food-trucks come often and park on the front. The staff were very friendly and inviting. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Will definitely come by again! read more

My friend and I tried a variety and liked them all: IPA, pale ale, stouts, wheats. We accidentally drank a bit from our glasses before snapping this photo! There is no permanent menu but they consistently rotate out food trucks. Hazelwood's service was also stellar. The two ladies behind the bar were extremely personable, funny, and quick to help. But in my opinion, the ambiance is what really makes this place. There is a humungous amount of seating options without the place feeling too overwhelming in size. There is a beautiful outdoor seating area with corn hole and a water feature that would be great for an outdoor event. Inside there are plenty of tvs and a set of pinball machines that we ended up spending some time playing with. There is also an upstairs if you're looking for a more separate space (we went up there to play some cards and it was perfect). There was a couch and tv upstairs as well with the remote on hand, letting it feel like you were in your own personal little space. If you're coming from out of town and looking for a space to hang out and drink, I cannot recommend Hazelwood enough! read more

I've been trying to visit all the breweries near Columbia, SC, and recently visited Hazelwood. This brewery has an amazing building, a great beer selection, and super friendly staff and patrons. I visited on a Tuesday night, which usually is a slower night for breweries. While it was a small crowd, there was music bingo going on with "free beer" and gift card prizes. I didn't win any rounds, but I enjoyed hanging out with everyone there and stayed later than I had intended to finish out bingo. There was a good variety of beer styles, enough that most beer drinkers will find something appealing to them. The 2 or 3 that I tried were quite tasty for the style, and I ended up taking a 4 pack home with me. I did not order any food, so I can't comment on that. But overall, the location, staff, and beer were all great and I plan to visit again. It's worth a bit of a drive (I'm usually staying at Ft. Jackson when I'm in the area) to visit this brewery, and I will definitely make it a regular stop when I can. read more

Great location, fun crowd, amazing staff and yummy beer. What more could you ask for. The Indo/Outdo is a really good IPA that has hop flavors but it's mild enough for non-IPA drinkers. I'm a fan of the funky farmhouse ales, and if you like them too try Nanobots. Smooth and farmy! They also offer some heavier beers in cans. Be sure to stop by and don't forget to go home with beer. read more

My absolutely favorite go-to brewery! Excellent permanent beers and a regularly rotating new batch of creative, tasty and not completely crazy ones. Love the Pilsner and Indo/Outdo IPA. The place is original and inviting and recently added a big Biergarten. No kitchen but plenty of food trucks, plus trivia night and blue grass night and other pop up music. Wow! What a diamond in the rough. My buddy and I went there to review most of Columbia SC breweries. Hazelwood was the best by far. They had a very good variety of delicious beers. The front patio was extremely relaxing in the shade. The lady behind the bar was helpful and knowledgeable of what she was pouring. My friend and I tasted a few and then both went with flights to test even more. After going to all other local breweries this one stood out for both of us as the best. The beers have been excellent! The food (outsourced) has left something to be desired, my review is not on the overpriced $7 wrap with low quality meat and cheese it is on the beer and atmosphere. So far I have tried the stout at a whopping 12% and the porter. The bartender described the stout as strong and likened it to sitting in a beautiful leather chair while smoking a cigar, spot on. The porter was very traditional with some coffee chocolate notes and delicious. Having traveled the country and the world always stopping to try the local brew I can say this place was very good, not the best but worth a stop and a place I might frequent. The atmosphere was very good with an outdoor area and indoor area. The indoor area had a quiet upstairs (where I sat to write a paper) with nice leather chairs and a sofa. Downstairs featured high tops and a pinball machine. Outside was a good mix of large picnic tables and regular tables and chairs. Ultimately this place is probably a 4-4.5 star but gets a bump for being the best beer in town having knowledgeable friendly staff and a great atmosphere. read more

Great atmosphere! I didn't try all the beers, but I did try a couple and they were delicious! Really cool vibe in this spot of the Old Mill. The woodwork is amazing with part of the the stair railing crafted from old wooden barrels. They didn't really serve food, except some prepackaged appetizer type stuff (deli meats, hummus, chips) but they did have a food truck out front when I went and apparently Keg Cowboy was delivering food too. The lack of menu is my only reason for withholding a star. As a microbrew though, it's worth the visit. Check it out! read more

The staff was beyond friendly and the beer was top notch. This new brewery just opened up in the heart of Lexington, and lemme tell y'all....GREAT beers!
